    • @Edward Squirrell Edward, I don't think Putin was ever a "military leader". In USA, President Eisenhower was a good solid leader after a distinguished military career. Pres. Theodore Roosevelt was "military" back in the tough ole days & rode with the Texas Rangers. Who wasn't so good (ok, good for already rich people aligned with his rich family) was Pres. George W. Bush, who used his wealthy & connected family's power to escape military punishment...for repeatedly skipping out of duty on the COAST GUARD! (Not downplaying the Coast Guard, they are awesome - but "W" wasn't intercepting drug smugglers or doing dangerous sea rescues during his joke of service time). Military leaders can lead a country. But insecure, power-thirsty people, military or not, can't. P.S.-new interview with an ex-KGB spy, the man states that Putin was mediocre in KGB. His superiors were not impressed. Ex-spy states that Putin is much better skilled as a manipulative politician, than he ever was as a KGB agent. I take that with a grain of salt, maybe this ex-KGB agent has something to gain now. Or he's real & not bullshitting. But Putin never was, to my research, ever a highly-promoted person in KGB or any part of the Russian military. Peace out, stay informed 👍

And these same kids are being ordered to kill innocent Ukrainians, why can't they refuse orders? One, their commanding officers told them they would personally kill them (the Russian soldier) themselves if they disobey, two a small number of them truly believe in their cause but are demoralized completely. My cousin was shot by a Russian soldier, I'm not angry at the Russian soldier, I know the average Russian would never kill someone like this, I believe in the Russian people, it's their toxic corrupt government and military high command... Hard times will come in a lifetime (good times too, but hard is part of life too) and so we need to be resilient. But I'm not afraid, Logan. I'm 30 years older than you and have had more hard times, and when I gave my life to Jesus, He takes care of me and the more I trust Him, the more He can do for me. I've been through some pretty hard times (not like these precious Ukrainians, but some challenging stuff) and Jesus is a solid rock beneath me when everything in the world shakes and looks bleak. God loves us perfectly and He wants to help us if we'll let Him. He's a gentleman and He won't make you take His help, but it's there for anyone who will come to Him for it. God is good and I love to brag on Him. Sometimes things happen that we don't understand, but I have found that I can still trust Him even when things seem hard or I can't understand the reason why. He can't bring evil, but He doesn't control everything in this world. He's given us a free will to choose Him or choose something else. And while Jimmy Carter gets a lot of nasty remarks, he is a kind man who genuinely cared about people. He may not have known how to meet certain challenges in his presidency, but I honor him because he has a good heart, and that's hard to find in this contentious society today.

For example - Trump LOWERED Taxes on Oil companies and dropped regulations - but because Oil Companies can do what they want - because our country NEEDS their product - Prices still went up $1 during Trump's presidency Pre-pandemic... During the Pandemic, they dropped prices because no one was buying gas... And now that the pandemic is "over" there's huge demand - so they're raising prices to make up for losses even though they're still profiting in the BILLIONS... If you don't like Biden it's fun to think he's to blame, but it's not the truth... The pandemic is to blame... If you think that's just an excuse, remember Trump left office with a 14.7% UN-employment rate which is now 3.8% under Biden... Meaning, fewer people were working during Trump's last year than they are now under Biden. That loss in jobs created fewer products for the masses to purchase - which raised prices.

    • Putin will *always* threaten the rest of the world with a nuclear attack. It will happen during every invasion he attempts post-Ukraine, assuming he succeeds in annexing that beleaguered nation. This Ukrainian situation will devolve into siege warfare with the slow attrition of the brave Ukrainian people unless NATO steps up. Russia isn't keen on receiving nukes, either. A little destruction foisted on the aggressor nation's military targets, oligarch dachas and even the Kremlin with conventional weaponry will bring home to the populace and the military generals in no uncertain terms that Russia cannot invade a sovereign nation without a bit of quid-pro-quo. It's "funny" how minds change when the aggressor becomes the victim. Concerted, coordinated, targeted attacks by all nations on the Russian border and air support by all NATO nations will overwhelm the Russian army and cause Putin to withdraw many of his troops from Ukraine. Besides, an attack on Russia proper will demoralize the Russian people and might push the oligarchs and military generals to stage a coup and oust Putin, thus shortening the war. As it stands now, allowing a bully like Putin to succeed in Ukraine will encourage him to pick off other nations one by one. Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Georgia, Romania and others will find themselves compromised. And that is especially so for Poland which will become the largest "western" border nation if Putin annexes Ukraine. After all, Putin won't rest if any NATO nation hugs its borders. Will NATO allow an egotistical megalomaniac harboring pretensions of resurrecting the territorial claims of the old Soviet Union to succeed by holding back?

All the people in the inner circle who might have warned about the downsides of a particular option, are no longer there. It's not a new phenomenon, the same theme is described in one of Hans Christian Andersen collected tales that date back nearly a thousand years-The Emperor's New Clothes.

It is worth noting that neither of those countries were NATO. OTH, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia are NATO countries and Putin has not invaded them. Lastly, what are the odds that Putin would have invaded Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia if they were not NATO countries. The Russian narrative, which you are pushing, is that Putin had to do this because of NATO when the reality is, the former soviet republics knew damn well that Russia would try to take them back if they were by themselves. You should also notice that other countries that were once invaded and controlled by Russia, countries like Poland, are offering significant help to Ukraine because they know that if Putin wins in Ukraine that Poland will now have a brutal dictator bent on conquest on there doorstep.
