EASY Milkmaid/Crown Braided Updo | Perfect for long hair - medium hair lengths
Today’s hair tutorial is an easy crown braid/Halo Braid for summer. This Milkmaid braided updo is created with two dutch braids, making it perfect for short, medium, and long hair lengths. I love how this braided hairstyle can be dressed up or dressed down making it perfect for proms, wedding guests, formals, graduations, flower girls, brides, bridesmaids, or for an afternoon out with friends. This hairstyle was very popular years ago, and I tried to modernize it by creating a partless back, and more of a semi-crown than a full crown.

I was having a terrible day, but trying to follow this tutorial was just the thing I needed to push me over the edge! I look like a great horned owl’s nest (the owl is blind) with barbs of shiny sticks randomly poking out, topped off with a scarecrow’s beard shavings. Fmh. Good lighting, though.

I had my hair done in this style for my wedding! ❤ I felt so beautiful. For the trial we used Heather flowers, but for the wedding, we used a generous amount of Baby's-breath (about 3 times as much as she did). It turned out so well and was just the romantic look I was going for
