In August 1992 a small audience gathered in The Wood Room at Real World Studios where U. Srinivas was recording his album 'Rama Sreerama'. This is the first track from the album, 'Gajavadhana'.

I've had the pleasure of watching this maestro play live many times in my life, and to meet him in person. The world is truly a little less brighter but the heavens have gained a star. This music is immortal. 🙏
Proof U.Srinivas gave India the Mandolin...he s playing for ever for The Deities! He went into the Ineffable Brightness!
Those who were present..... you were blessed 🙏🙏🙏
If this does not bring tears to your eyes, I don't know what will. Such moving music. Such artistry. Such magic.
No reason to cry. Great music but if prefer smiling. Vikram mutthy
@@Dante-xf1mu not all tears translate to crying.
ONLY GREAT MUSIC BRING TEARS NOT THE MAGIC. LISTEN TO THYGARAJAS " RAGASUDHA RASA " YOU MAY CRY BY ECSTASY U SRINIVAS REALLY A MAGICIAN WITH MANDOLINE BECAUSE OF HIS MASTERY HE HIMSELF IS AVATAR OF THYAGARAJA
@@jkj1459 You bet U Srinivas's music moves one to tears. It's all about how much one resonates with it. The only other person capable of this, to me is my mother who was a child prodigy in Carnatic classical music who started singing when she was 4 years old and still teaching in her 70s.
what a humble man @8:05 he looks for his father's approval after playing so well the korvai and his father aptly acknowledges and encourages him🙂🙏
For countless generations to be inspired and uplifted by-- purest Carnatic artistry.
This is amazing Carnatic music. The interplay between the musicians is phenomenal; it's as if they have telepathy among themselves. U. Srinivas was quite talented and it's a shame he's gone and no longer making music for the world to enjoy.
My belief is that Srinivas ji's good nature came naturally from his father, his father satyanarayana ji supported him...he does not show any proudness in his face on seeing his son's talent but only happiness....thank u for everything
Love
This cameraman is a dope. The side-view of Sirvinas' playing doesn't allow us to really see how good he actually is
Whenevet I listen his music or whenever iI see his ohoto tears will comelut, very humble and down to earth petson
He's our Van Halen and they dont show his fretting hand :(
I think this cameraman has a right hand fetish. Those uncomfortable close-ups of percussion instruments!
Youngster U Srinivas' music reached Kailash, that is why Lord Shiva invited him to play for Him.
What a master piece ! we miss you Srinivas
Omg. This child is truly Godsent. Such mastery. An old soul with extraordinary talent. God bless his soul 🙏🙏🙏
6:45 to 8:05 is just beyond GOD level! So good!!!!
Oh this is lovely. I have owned the record for years, but never knew it had been filmed. A tough week for people passing, its nice to be reminded of this sweet man
Likewise! I searched for the audio, as my records are packed away. What a treat to find this gem.
All the accompanied artists were also mind blowing...there is a very good rapport between them
We lost a gem .miss his superb heart melting delienation of any raga . Spell binding music of all times he belongs to Gandharva Gods.
Thanks to real records. Such a wonderful playing by mandolin maestro u.shrunivasji. As rightly said it brings tears in our eyes. Fantastic mridangam & lovely support on violin too. We really miss u.shrinivasji.
Mesmerizing, as it is always with the Mandolin wizard: Srinivas! We miss you! Thanks for posting this rare video.
The recording is great! Also hats off to the maestro Mandolin Srinivas. What a legend!
Such divine music. A great talent, taken prematurely from us! నమస్సుమాంజలి శ్రీనివాస్ !
What incredible dynamics and the accompaniment is absolutely superb! If only I had the chance to witness this genius in action lately. The first time I heard him in Ottawa when I was 10 sitting along side my uncle. Sat and watched the entire concert mesmerized for 3 hrs not knowing the story behind this genius :) Bless his soul. He will be dearly missed.
Out of world performance! Mastery of mandolin!

Thanks for sharing this wonderful music by mandalin srinivas. He is a God's gift.
Exquisite and sublime, as Shrinivas's music always is! Yet, you watch this with great poignancy now that Shrinivas is gone. Thank you for sharing - this will inevitably go into the annals of the greatest in the history of classical world music. The accompanists are outstanding as well.
He is one of my favorite Indian classical musicians
A great personality. Pity, he was snatched away too early. A real maestro on music.
Thanks for sharing....I've heard the tracks from this album numerous times. Nice to have the video. Would be great if the rest of the videos can be uploaded.

Great play on mandoline. May his soul rest in peace and love. We need mandoline Srinivas like player. I pray God to gift mandoline Srinivas to take birth on the earth

Wonderful.........
yes
The gods heard him play, and denied him to us poor mortals, they took him for themselves! wait upon heavens call, that we all must answer one day, and hear this rapturous beauty once more, forevor more.
But poor camera work. Music has an additional limb on viewing it. Sorry
Musical legend
I have listened to this music and watched this video several, several times. Is there any way we can watch the entire video of the session U Srinivasji performed on that day? I would love to be able to but the video recording if it is available in any way. Please please do make the entire video available for everyone to listen to his divine music.

Thank you Real Records! Is there a way to purchase the video of the whole album Rama Sreerama?

What is there to dislike in this .
Super melody
there is a lot of sadness in this song.
Its not meant to be actually giving sadness. Maybe its setting a mood. Indian music has various Raagas which set the emotions within the mind.
Reminiscent of Meeting by the River Mohan Bhatt & Ry Cooder
real loss to carnatic music 😪😢😢😢😢
🥺 Everytime
WAITING
இசையே கடவுள் அது உன்னிடம்.........
Wht a following by Bhakthavalsalam Sir..
Super
que gran musica!!
4:57 omg 😳 hammer-ons from nowhere. I recognize the recurring motif to reset the time/ release tension but can’t seem to find the 1 or the downbeat. Is it before the phrase starts?
Fentastc...
I was born in 1992!
Great
Leí una nota en the guardian que este músico era el faforito de George Harrison.
