In August 1992 a small audience gathered in The Wood Room at Real World Studios where U. Srinivas was recording his album 'Rama Sreerama'. This is the first track from the album, 'Gajavadhana'.

    • @@jkj1459 You bet U Srinivas's music moves one to tears. It's all about how much one resonates with it. The only other person capable of this, to me is my mother who was a child prodigy in Carnatic classical music who started singing when she was 4 years old and still teaching in her 70s.

  • This is amazing Carnatic music. The interplay between the musicians is phenomenal; it's as if they have telepathy among themselves. U. Srinivas was quite talented and it's a shame he's gone and no longer making music for the world to enjoy.

  • My belief is that Srinivas ji's good nature came naturally from his father,his father satyanarayana ji supported him...he does not show any proudness in his face on seeing his son's talent but only happiness....thank u for everything

  • What incredible dynamics and the accompaniment is absolutely superb! If only I had the chance to witness this genius in action lately. The first time I heard him in Ottawa when I was 10 sitting along side my uncle. Sat and watched the entire concert mesmerized for 3 hrs not knowing the story behind this genius :) Bless his soul. He will be dearly missed.

  • Exquisite and sublime, as Shrinivas's music always is! Yet, you watch this with great poignancy now that Shrinivas is gone. Thank you for sharing - this will inevitably go into the annals of the greatest in the history of classical world music. The accompanists are outstanding as well.

    • I was an exchange in Coimbatore in 80s. THIS was the first Carnatic cassette i ever bought. And still I have it. MEKKA NAnDRI master u. Srinivas..... this is music for always. I listen often and this is music for the soul..... :)
