    • @@pixeled9683 It's not because of one tournament here that's the point! Fact is it made VCU a brand and they've been a tournament staple since! Also in that one splendid run, they accumulated 4 wins against Power 5 programs which is more than some programs have accumulated in their entire history! And three of those Power 5 programs whom VCU beat are college basketball associated! That March made VCU! They had rare success before 2011, but none which compared! It defined VCU's path forward! Just as Loyola's remarkable run in 2018 did for their path!

    • Just watched this game again for the first time since 2011. I’m from Richmond, had my high school graduation at the Siegel Center, and went to VCU from 2005-09 and have yet to see a VCU game in person. My dad and sister are University of Richmond snobs though; they both got their MBAs there. VCU is built differently. The real University of Richmond! I hope you got to see one of their games!

  • One of the most memorable upsets in the history of the tournament. I would love to see games from Butler's run that year. Butler vs Pittsburgh in the 2nd round had one of the craziest endings in the history of the tournament, and the Butler vs Florida Elite 8 game had incredible shot-making from both teams down the stretch.

    • And to me Butler's run in 2011 was more miraculous than 2010 because they did it without Hayward, who had turned pro along with the graduations of their two senior leaders Veasley and Jukes! Of all the double digit seeds to have made it to the FF in the history of the tournament, the Rams r the only team to beat 4 consecutive Power 5 conference programs in getting there and their win in the Elite 8 over top seeded and #2 overall Kansas is the standard of all Elite 8 upsets to this day! • Matthew saw FSU vs Xavier in Orlando. Xavier was up 13 or 15 at half. Fsu made their run from 15 minutes left till about 7 left. 7 or 8 trips fsu played great defense only to have xavier hit 5 or six 3s with shot clock under 3 or 4. It was unreal. Bluett was xaviers guy. He delivered. First ncaa tourney game ever saw. Gators got lucky with Virginia in 2nd game. Cavs got to rim at will in second half but nothing would fall. Next year saw Loyola win 2 games to go to final 4 in atlanta. Was best 800 dollars i spent to see 3 games. If u have never been to a ncaa tourney game get to one.

KU hasn't had worse than #3seed since 2004. 31 straight NCAA Tournaments made.) * Kansas Jayhawks also would been #1overall seed in the canceled 2020 NCAA Tournament.
