I asked him to sign my scorecard as he was getting ready to leave in the 7th inning. Which he did. We said our goodbyes and after he left my son asked, "Dad, who was that guy? When the NBA shortened the three-point line from 1994-1995 to 1996-1997, everybody's 3 PTS efficiency went to the roof... In those three NBA seasons, Kerr made 321 shots of his 644 attempts : an efficiency of 49.8%. On regular three point attempts, Kerr managed to convert 405 of his 955 shots; which means he was shooting 42.4% from downtown! Still incredible. But, Curry on regular threes is sitting at 42.7% while taking unbelievably difficult shots.

    • you practice under the parameters you're given, so i imagine Kerr would have a higher efficiency from the deeper 3 point line if it was as significant during his career. • 8:42... other than saying that the 6'3" Kerr is five inches shorter than the 6'6" MJ, this was an awesome video!

  • I’m just so happy for Steve Kerr ! Haven’t watched nba in years but I def grew up Chicago bulls era and Steve Kerr just one of that nice guy who you never hear anything bad ever . I was bummed about Scottie trash talking about Jordan through the years bc you never pictured Scottie as that type of person . Steve was also in the shadow of pippen n Jordan but he never cares . There absolutely nothing wrong being in shadow someone better than you bc it make you become comparative n bring the best out of u

  • He was also great at defense. He was pretty good at steals but where he excelled was pressuring the ball handler. He was underrated as a player. In my opinion if he had the right situation to be a starter with a solid PF he would be viewed similarly to Nash and Stockton.

  • He was a deadly open shooter. Had to shoot with his feet set. Shot mainly on kick outs. Point guard size, but no point guard handles, therefore he was mostly used as an undersized guard from the bench. Great competitor, high basketball IQ. Clutch too.

  • Kerr's three point percentage throughout his career is insane. Even in today's NBA of high volume three point shooting, Kerr's record would be so hard to beat.

  • steve kerr was good, i remember reading about him in 2003 when he was retiring in a magazine featuring his legacy. The pre-teen me was like wow, you don't need anything fancy to be good.
