The latest addition to the Premspec Verso wiring accessories is modular switches. The functionality of a grid switch system without the traditional yoke mounting.
Using version modular switches you can build switches to suit your exact requirements. You could combine two way and intermediate switch elements within a common faceplate.
Or create a fused spur and other common power configurations for kitchens, utility areas of bathrooms.

  • I wish these were available for the North American Market. Eagle Electric used to have something close to this and they were popular in the mid-20th century. no one to my knowledge makes this here in the USA... Nice Video! I love the versatility of this product!

    • Yes CPC and click do them. They only have screws at one end which is quicker assembly. 2 screws for a module is time consuming if you are using everywhere.

    • @@Dog-whisperer7494 In principle this is not much different from any other grid range, if you have the time and it's still available then you just replace the module. If the range has been discontinued or you are unable to source it quickly enough then you are likely going to have to replace the whole assembly. In practice there is safety in established systems. If you use MK grid plus then you can pick up replacement modules virtually anywhere. If you use click minigrid then toolstation stock it though it seems the seperate modules are only availble in the central warehouse, not local branches. For some modules you can work around this by buying ready built plates and dismantling them to get the modules, though not all modules are sold as part of readybuilt assemblies. This stuff on the other hand seems like a PITA to actually buy, they claim to have CEF as a distributor but I couldn't find it on CEFs site and google wasn't turning up much either. Warranties are mostly irrelevant unless they also cover labor.

  • Not really keen on the design of the plate, plus click have had this system in place donkeys years ago, which was the reason I switched to that brand, as I could put an intermediate on a two gang switch. Not sure why manufacturers still make 1 way switches, I only buy 2 way switches.

    @acelectricalsecurity@acelectricalsecurity2 жыл бұрын
  • Personally i couldn't imagine wanting anything other than white but my customers increasingly want brass and brushed steel which really limits the options - especially when you want a 2-gang intermediate switch. Also, the only dimmer switch worth using seems to be the Varilight - silent and smooth. If anyone else offered these solutions, I'd be very happy 😊

  • Looks a great system.. i detest the euro module grids, they look awful. only good for TV an Av installs IMO .. a 10a double pole would be great for bathrooms where you have an MVHR or fan which uses a boost function.. oh and a dimmer , coz you always get that fussy client that wants the dimmer on the same plate as the switches .. i'll give the premspec gear a go ... love the fuse spurs , ive only ever fitted MK on my own jobs just because of that reason.. nice to have other options.. well done Joe

  • Funny .. don't you have BTCINO/Legrand switches in UK ? We have this modularity for +20-30 years ..i guess in Belgium . It's always funny to watch UK video's about electricians .. in Europe you can fit sockets and later put faceplate in the color you like on it .. Never seen that in UK .. they seem to look al the same ... and are not completely in the wall ...our wall boxes are at least 50mm deep ... I do like the swich on each socket but they are so bulky the sockets and plugs in UK ..

Of course you can spend whatever you want really with fancy metal faed sockets going for £30+. I've always preferred the US way of doing things in terms of decorating - makes life so much easier.

    • @@efixx Click certainly seem to have a better range (13A DP switches in a single module, locking fan isolators, a wide range of finishes) and better documentation (the premspec catalogue doesn't give any pictures of the modules or even tell you which ones are double wide). How the quality of the actual products compares I couldn't say.

    • I do very little domestic work. But to make life easier I have carried Click accessories for years, forget 1 way, 2 way, intermediate. Just buy intermediates as they cover all 3 options. Reduces stock and ensures you have the correct Switch

      @posei3960@posei39602 жыл бұрын
  • Seems very similar in concept to the click minigrid range from Scholmore (3 modules per gang, yokeless, modular as standard) but with a more limited range of elements. In particular the range lacks lockable fan isolators and single module 13A switches. It also lacks any finishes other than white plastic. Also their documentation sucks, the individual modules are nowhere to be found on their website and the catalogue makes no mention of the fact the 20A switch and fan isolator modules are double width.

    @petermichaelgreen@petermichaelgreen2 жыл бұрын
    • Hi Peter, thanks for the feedback. The Catalogue is in the process of being updated and I have fed your feedback back to the team doing it. As for the website this is already in process as I type this to you :-) We do not currently offer a decorative range in Verso, there is one in final stages of R&D and we hope to have this on your closest wholesalers shelves by the end of the year.
