  • For no discernible reason I trust this doctor so much after only watching a few videos. I’m 62 and am years behind on skin care treatments. I recently started using a snail mucin serum that makes my skin feel baby soft. I need to start at the beginning of her videos to educate myself on what to do for my skin.

    • Hey Brenda, while this is a pro derm channel, if you are a makeup junkie, check out Angie with hot and flashy. I have followed her for over decade. She started at 50 to undo sun damage and built her channel with proven results. Tretinoin of course gold standard on both channels. I use products and advise from both and hope you may gain knowledge too. Well done on getting serious beautiful!

  • I stopped using active ingredient during the day. Only at night with some form of alternation between healing routine, retinol and exfoliation. During the day my frame of mine is purely protection and keeping moisture in. Your recipe for rose water glycerin spray has saved my skin! • The first year was hard with .05 tretinoin. Winter came and I had starting using every night by then. With the cold wind I woke up and my face was on fire. I finally backed off and got some cisaplast cream and made it to spring. After that I again went to seven nights a week with no problems, except for a few occasions. I now use .1 tret and I’m doing fine. It is a process and I’m glad I can use it but have to listen to my skin.

  • The actual best advice to give to most people is to go see a dermatologist that will consult them on their individual skin. A lot of derms will do the first consultation free in the UK don’t know about everywhere else, but I was on an Obagi treatment for roughly 8-12 months, I shed like a snake but it removed all the sun damage I had, did it during covid so no one saw all the peeling except family. If you’re serious about a skin overhaul it’s not gonna happen quickly or without some visible signs that your skin is going through changes.

    • I think dr idriss didnt say this bc im pretty sure she lives in the usa. Most people here cant afford a dermatologist visit since we dont have universal healthcare. Im american and have insurance but even i cant go to the dermatologist for cosmetic reasons or else its not covered. Only infection, skin cancer, severe cystic acne, etc is covered. One appointment can be 100s of dollars.

  • Totally agree!!!! One of my fav night creams w/retinol recently blew up my face on 2 separate occasions. I assume I grew sensitive to it OR there was a reformulation that’s causing this reaction. Long story short, the night cream is buh-bye while I take a wee break with something a bit more soothing so recover those spots with some tlc while reviewing for a replacement night cream. Note the same company makes a retinol eye gel that has not caused ANY issues and will keep an eye on things just in case. If you have any recommendations I’m open to them! I have fair 42yo skin that I’ve done my best to take care of from an early age. Note, she’s a mixed bag of strength and sensitivity. I’ve been using retinols in various strengths for the last 10-12yrs. I started small with lighter retinol eye and face serums, with my Daily Peel Pads, and layering in the night cream at night for at least the last 9 years. Note, I don’t plan to adjust my use of the peel pads because a physical exfoliation is something I will not do with my face and I know that my skin prefers the light daily chemical peel to any sort of manual exfoliation. Note, I have eczema on my body that flairs up from too rough a manual exfoliation AND my mother developed a really bad case of rosacea on her face around 55/60yo. So I want to do what I can now to help my skin stay as young and happy looking as I can. Love this community and all the awesome hacks! Thank you for sharing!🙌🏻

(A little acne, a little dryness, whatever.) "Real results" are about preservation. You drastically slow the process of time with topicals, but they don't really turn back time.

The combination one I like the best because it will tingle at first, and then I don't feel it. That one I can keep on my face 10-15 minutes, and the 70% one I will only leave on my face for 1 minute.
