One thing that I love about this story line is how it connects to something I didn't know till after they debuted. Natty, Julie and Belle all chose Hanuel. Natty, Julie and Belle were scouted, and when they were asked which S2 trainee they liked the best and who they were most impressed by, it was Haneul. So she was the final piece of the lineup.

To add to this all the solos are also more or less their journeys to becoming idols. Obviously everything is exaggerated or depicted severely differently but the concept was the same
Can you imagine belle , natty, and julie just going like "oh yes we like you join our group" i bet haneul was so happy, this isn't a shade to her btw i love her aswell

They have the stongest debut ive seen recently. both musically and cinematically. love the confidence they radiate, and how involved creatively they are
Without any hyperbole, KISS OF LIFE's way of debuting has to be the best debut out of any group I've ever seen. The solos introducing all the members with high quality MVs is very LOONA like, while the MVs themselves connecting into an overall story is a very NewJeans/Dreamcatcher way of doing things. Not only was it good marketing, but it showcased all the member's strengths and talents. When watching these back then, each solo MV built up more and more hype to end with the PERFECT debut song for them. Because of that I became a Kissy before KIOF even was official and I'm sure I wasn't the only one.
After reacting to Bad News and Nobody Knows, I highly recommend checking out their year end awards performances, espescially the MMA 2023 one. They absolutely devoured!

They really left a good first impression on me and I’ve been watching and following them since their debut. I’m super excited for you to react to more content of these talented girls. All the videos are connected and were made to show their 'lives' before they became KIOF. If you notice for example when Natty is looking in the shop window in her video the blonde girl who passes by is Haneul except they don't know each other yet. Small piece of trivia the videos were filmed in Budapest, Hungary and the scene where Natty dances in the street the person putting money in her hat was actually a passerby and they left it in. Also the fireworks feature in all the solo videos and also connect them. It's good you watched them in order as a lot of people only watched Bye my Neverland or shhh and didn't realise what was going on and the connections. This does actually continue with their comeback as Bad news connects to Nobody Knows. Good to see you finally watching KIOF as they have amazing live vocals, if you have time check out some of their award show appearances. Quick edit Julie is listed as the official rapper of the group not Natty. Also forgot to mention Belle's dad is a legendary Korean singer from the 80's/90's called Shim Shin.
Another connection I forgot about. When Belle is looking at her phone and dancing in her room the video she dances to is Haneul's dance she records in her room from her video.

@@migueldias17 Yes there's so many it would probably take up a whole page to list them all. The team at S2 are very creative, let's hope that continues as it has with their last comeback, makes things much more interesting that way.
It's so refreshing to see a group debut as adults and tackle more mature topics like harassment, bullying, overbearing parents ,etc.
they were crashing into each other at their cross roads of life, just how amazing it rolled out the very whole story in such a creative and fascinating way
I love Kiss of Life, their creative director Lee Haein was a former idol & trainee on Idol school which Natty was also on & built their concept around/for them instead of choosing members to fit a specific one. Each member is different but together they're a monster group. They always perform live high notes & all while doing the choreo perfectly. Belle is a writer/composer she's written for Miyeon (gidle), purple kiss, kid milli, le sserafim she also did the vocals on NCT Marks song Child & won best composer award only 10 days after debut !! Julie is a former black label trainee as well ! Cant wait for more reactions to them 🥰
As already said by others, they made such a strong debut. I've found them only with Bad News, but they became really fast one of my fav group. ^^

Just a little bit of extra info for you Thina; Belle is also a producer and songwriter. She even has credits on Unforgiven by LeSserrafim! This group was created with the idea that all of the members are involved in the creative process in some way. I saw them go in to a bit more detail about it on Eric Nam's Daebak Show.
Yep. Belle was a songwriter for SM. She also composed songs for (G)-IDLE’s Miyeon and Purple Kiss. She is my bias in the group. Her whistle notes are to die for.

@@ChainsawFilms Just to clarify: she wasn't actually an employee of SM as a songwriter, she just attended a few SM Song Camps(her first was in 2020). She was independent before signing to her current company.

@@jvliawo Songwriters are considered staff regardless of whether they're signed to an agency or not unless they're also artists themselves which Belle wasn't at the time. She has no songwriting credits on any SM artists' songs(but she does on other artists from different agencies) and she's only said that she attended SM Song Camps. She's also said she was independent before signing to her current company- her exact words were "as an independednt songwriter" and if I can find where she said it again I'll come back with a link.

It's so fun reacting along to someone discovering Kiss of Life from the beginning, they really took the kpop fandom by storm so quickly with their debut. They really have such a unique group sound, each member is so talented in different ways, I had to be OT4.
What I really like about their concept is they are not "Glamaorized'. They are portrayed 'down to earth' as if you can fine them in your neighborhood. Moreover, the statement is clear ... "We are under dog but we are real deal" Impressive fresh air !!!

loved this concept for a debut. The connected 6 songs/MVs, the grown vibe for the whole group from the get go... And the talent is undeniable. The vocals, the ad libs, the dance, the visuals - what a great job by the whole team. But the members delivered across the board. I was hooked from the get go.

It is based on Take Me Out to the Ballgame. Also, if you watch Natty's solo again you'll notice that Julie was auditioning right before Natty. You can hear Kitty Cat from the stage as Natty is warming up. Explains why Julie is there driving at that moment of the accident. She was leaving her audition.

This is one of a great debut in k-pop GG last year. An album with 4 solo songs plus 2 debut songs, and the connected storyline. 😘🤩😍🥰 And the comeback mini album this year "Born to be XX" (they hinted in grafity written on the toilet wall of Bye my neverland MV) is awesome, too.

It’s funny I’m about 1/3 of the way through the awards and I’m enjoying finding new groups to watch! I’m normally so hesitant so when I see you diving into KIOF I felt better watching with someone for the first time. I actually like them? Their sound is a bit groovy for me sometimes. But I remember thinking that about exo and I now love them so much 😂 I also enjoyed natty and Han’s solos. Natty really gives me Lisa vibes with her look and swag. Very real storyline too. Relatable ❤

Love KIOF, but the audition was 28 September, right? So Natty's was there, and next day they go the trip, and the new audition was on 30th? but the flyer only says 28th. Natty was limp from her leg after the bump with Julie's car, so why, she have a bruise in her arm and not in her leg? Just question.... KiOF Forever ❤❤❤❤
