Megaminx is surprisingly easy, got one two days ago and solved it a few times, it feels like a harder 3x3, nothing compared to the 6x6 but still a bit challenging to do fast

Do you find the 6x6 significantly harder than the 4x4? 4x4 is definitely a league above 3x3 due to parity but once you learn how the 4x4 method stacks up I feel like it’s not super hard to scale up, it just takes longer (and the last two centers get worse) The biggest help is the parity algorithms being basically the same, just with some added logic

When I got my megaminx, I didn't bother with a tutorial; I used knowledge of the 3x3 to solve it intuitively. It takes ten minutes but it actually fells better to create a solution and take 5 times as long as you would with a tutorial.
I solved mine the same way. I hit a lot of road blocks and 1 year passed before I picked it up and solved the last side. Funny thing is most algorithms are the same as 3x3 with an extra U in there lol

The crazy part of solving a megaminx for me is that I never looked up a tutorial. I put a lot of my pride in first to try and solve it without any help. I also didn't know what it was called until after I solved it anyways. I solved it over about 1-2 years figuring out that it is very similar to the 3x3. So once I figured that out I solved the majority of it using 3x3 logic, the last part I just had to add a few more turns since it was larger. Overall one of my favorite Rubik's puzzles to solve, that and the Axis cube since it's really crazy looking.

Honestly, I'm not a speed cuber by any sense of the word... a 50 second 3x3 is pretty damn impressive for me. But I recently bought a megaminx just to try it, and solved it entirely by transferring 3x3 algos... when I finished it, I was so stoked!

The first cube ever in my cubing history I solved with checking out a tutorial. At first I was, damn this cube looks so complicated, but then tried using the knowledge for solving a normal 3*3,,and guess who solved a megaminx. It felt so nice.
Tbh it's surprisingly easy I solved it almost entirely by myself (using what I knew from the 3×3). Just the last step (putting each corner in the right place on the last side) made me search for a tutorial

I find it very funny that I found this video from youtube seeing me watch other videos about cubes, one of which is the TUTORIAL YOU WATCHED
This only took me 2 days too slove the 1st day i scrambled it and looked up how too slove none of them sloved it for me but i used the info form the vids and solved i was so happy its pretty easy you just gotta do one step like 5 times and they slove the last layer kinda like a 3x3 and ur done

I actually solved this without any help, its just like the 3 by 3, i done the 5 face at the bottom, use beginner edge pairing to do the second and experimented with some oll and pll and solved it
megaminx has corners that are easier to twist than a 3x3, even my 3x3 is non-corner twistable

Its funny because the megaminx I got came with a manual of how to solve it. I gave it a quick look and learned some tricks with it, and the rest I did only based on normal 3x3

I never watched a tutorial... when I got my megaminx I just started with "Hiw far can I solve it with knowing how to solve 3x3?" And that's how I got it. Some moves were a little bit different but still the same logic. So it's kinda like a double 3x3

Im not sure if speedcubers do it the standard way which takes around 2 minutes but they just learn how to do it quickly, or if there is a method they use. I noticed a lot of right and up movements, but idk if im just trippin. Im not asking for a full explanation, im only asking for links to websites or videos. I looked everywhere but found nothing. It’s actually pretty easy, theres only 2-3 more algorithms to learn to solve it
I was able to do almost all of the megaminx with just my 3x3 knowledge, had to look up a tutorial for the last "layer" though.
