One of my favourite tracks in F1 and the most challenging I think especially the corner into the tunnel, It cool to see how much work goes into creating the street circuit and the facilities brought in
Being an ardent formula 1 follower and a civil engineer yet I never realized how monaco grand prix was so much more complicated than any other. Wow that was an amazing video
Narrow streets. Curves as hell. You can find easiest place to race with F1 !
There is a video of the Redbull building it's amazing. They ship it over on a barge. Huge.
@NobleGuy exactly. Overall, the logistics for any street racetracks are hella impressive.
Complicated than any other? You've never been to Singapore then.
This video combines both my passions, really looking forward to the Monaco GP this weekend!!🔥 F1 is a logistic miracle, and no race highlights it better than the Monaco GP.
Ah.. you just read my mind
Hi mate, haven't seen you long time, so how's it going ?
The race itself will be really boring tho (if held in dry condition), but i agree the logistic and engineering for this gp is the most insane compare to other gp
wendover productions missed an opportunity here.
Sorry,you mean QUALIFYING?
As someone who has watched F1 for 15+ years its amazing that I had to come to an architecture/construction channel to find out way more than I knew about the monaco setup, they only cover stuff like this for minimal time.
I have sat and enjoyed watching the pitlane growing overnight while have a night out at La Rascasse. Incredible teamwork from everyone
Can’t wait to see Mazepin drive the car into the ocean

If he can do that, he will be a legend like Maldonado, C'mon mazepin don't let us down!!
Funny comment, im dying of laughter
Ok, that animated circuit layout through the years graphic at 1:20 is excellent. Not seen a circuit's evolution shown like that before.
F1 did one for silver stone last year at the 70th anniversary race. It was good I recommend looking it up
It also has a ticking sound for every passing year. It's the little touches that make the video special.
Watch one for hockenheim and you'll get really depressed!
Monaco is the one track that will never leave the F1 calendar as it's the one race every driver wants to win besides their home race and to win it more than once is to join a exclusive club.
This channel reminds me of those discover tv series (Megastructures I think one was called). But without the 1 million ad breaks and repeated content after each break, or filler footage to fill a 45min(aka 1h w/ ads) slot. Just straight to the point. Thank you!
I wish every day could start off with such a perfect video! Thank you for this!
So true 😍

The amount of autosport puns in this video is just pit-iful :P
So many puns makes me exhausted. Hee hee.
All of these pubs are pushing me to my braking point. hee hee :)
one can never get tyred of puns xD
What an amazing achievement that a group of people can construct such a fantastic set to stage one of the greatest racing spectacle's seen in the Western world! Well done to all who are involved. Thanks B1M for bringing us such brilliant insight of a "behind the scenes" look how this achieved!
Having just lived through weeks of road resurfacing right outside of my house, there is no way I would live somewhere where they do it this often haha. Fantastic video as ever!
Has to be probably one of the most iconic tracks ever. Somewhere I've always wanted to go.
I just wish overtaking was more possible. Just a tad more possible. Like verstappen vs hamilton that one time...
@@OttoIncandenza agreed, that's part of what it makes it seriously entertaining. Especially if someone knows how to actually drive they can watch the race and understand what these drivers are going through for that half a second they get to overtake a car in front of them and the risks that they're taking, but I digress, I agree with what you're saying.
@@jayfitmob8645 Monaco is the best Saturday of the F1 season but easily the worst Sunday
@@TimTomJimJom The best Saturday yes, but the Sunday atmosphere places it above Sochi, Paul Ricard or Yas Marina.

Holy crap. I've driven around Monaco. It's amazing that F1 cars are doing the speeds they do on such narrow and twisty roads.
Doesn’t matter how fast those cars are I clicked on this video faster
hahahaha, thanks!
speed
Same
Faster than Haas maybe.
Even as a kid, when I no one had told me yet that it's a country, it felt to me like the whole thing with a track going through a "city" of this size was crazy.
Well it's pretty much a city, it's just legally independent
@@MatakkoTV2 Which is a country.
Wow amazing indeed! It's one of those things we take for granted not realising how big of a feat it is. Thanks for the very good video, I learned a few things and loved it for the amount of great content inserted in such short length :)

This channel keeps getting better and better. I have been here since it only had less than 1000 subs.
Amazing working by everyone to make it happen 👍🏽💪🏽👍🏼👌🏽
Favorite video so far, thanks for making it! Combines two passions of my life! Hope everyone enjoys the race!
Having been to Monaco a few times, the thought of 600 trucks driving through those streets is terrifying, traffic is already horrible during the regular summer months
A lot of it is done at night so the traffic isn't that much worse in the weeks leading up to Grand Prix. The traffic becomes bad in the days leading up because of the tourists + the streets being blocked off for the track.
Though it is hard to overtake, this track is one of my favorite.
I absolutely love F1, love architecture. Awesome video. It really shows the amount of logistics and planning involved.
I'm actually impressed you chose to publish your video on the Monaco GP race weekend. Hence it'll catch up many F1 viewers to your video, anyway as usual your videos are informative and helpful. Cheers B1M 🙂
Absolutely wonderful segment. A real insight in2 how it all works.
It is quite an incredible organizational Feat to have this prepared for each years race !
I love this channel. I’ve been following it for a while now and what a surprise while I’m watching some formula 1 content and that right before the race weekend at the Monaco grand prix I get this gem!!! Thank you!
Two of my favourite things to watch doing a colab, b1m and f1 😍

yeah keep showing the same thing i over and over again will always make me come back to this channel.
I've been there many times, but never had the chance to watch such amazing races
This is probably the best b1m vid that iv seen as I'm a f1 fan i knew it takes massive feet to construct the Monaco track but didn't realise the sheer scale
Awesome to see you made a video about this. I love F1 and I love engineering. Such a combo. Thanks!
I have watched the Monaco Grand Prix since I was a kid and got into slot car racing. Back then the cars weren’t as fast and narrower than todays cars. It amazes me that they still have it on the calendar. It is an amazing undertaking that Monaco goes through every year.
This was awesome to see. Thanks for sharing!
May I just say that this channel inspired me to pursue an urban planning degree (can’t drawn so no architectural stuff). Thanks for your hard work and broad knowledge base.
2:42 , pretty sure there are 10 teams on the grid, great vis nonetheless
Yeah I’m with you on this one. Overall a great video, but that mistake makes you think they don’t really care to double check everything before reading the script.
@@ravimooruth4159 No hard feelings man but that makes no sense. There were 12 teams up untill 2014 I believe, that's probably is the reason he mentioned 12 teams.

idc what anyone says Monaco is one of my favorite circuits in F1 and one of the most iconic. I get theres and overtaking problem but that just makes quali that much more important and the overtakes we do see are so much more insane.
One of the reasons i want to visit Monaco.
I've been on the track once but of course you have to observe speed limits on normal days when it's just a road.

These videos are always incredible. Great information, great footage, yet not too long & overcrowded with useless info. Thanks to the B1M team who always produce these really interesting & educational works of art!
Not perfect needs some more research example 2:40. I’m semi new to f1 I’ve only been watching since 2012, but was there ever 12 teams. i know there was eleven but i don’t think there were twelve at least recently.
I always wondered how they managed to build a racetrack in the middle of a city. thank you for making this video 👍
Was there for a day of Gran Prix in 2017, and a few days later to see the sights - good times.
This video is the perfect mix of engineering and F1, both right at the top of my favourites list 👌🏻 One note: you mention 12 teams... there are 10 teams. Perhaps you included the medical team and FIA's race director and stewards crew?
I was lucky enough to be in Singapore when they were getting ready for their race. It was a few weeks prior but I befriended one o the top engineers and he walked us around some of the sights. The best part was the mechanics area and how they line up the cars. It was a great experience.
Great story that you've told here about Monaco and grand prix. Greatly enjoyed it. Must point out (that it's no fault of your own) that the Google Earth image that shows an aerial view of the city must be quite old as it doesn't even show the Portier Cove construction/land reclamation project that is currently going on. They've even backfilled the site and are now above grade. Regardless, excellent video B1M.
Fan of F1 here. Did not know about this channel, but awesome content you have. Subscribed 👌

Although it's clear (at least I think) you are being limited by working from home. I'm glad the videos continue in almost the same capacity. (It's subtle things like mic quality and footage, but again, still great)
Very informative. Thanks for good work

I recently visited Monaco as they were beginning this whole process. Absolutely amazing to see in person. Looking at all the famous parts of the track while also looking at the engineers build the supporting infrastructure is incredible. Not to mention that the Monte Carlo Masters were going on at the same time and I got to see that transformation too. Fantastic place Monaco.
Watching this video makes me have more of a soft spot for Monaco
Thank you, I liked it. I guess, I am nerdy enough that I would have liked to see the complete built or break down of the stands etc. Been to Monaco on my motorcycle many moons ago, just before race week🥰
I always love this channel. I am a Certified public accountant by profession but my heart leans more about structures, technology and history. This channel always caters my alter ego.
oh my god b1m and formula one i love this
I am retired now but worked for about 6 years for a company who had its head office in Monaco. I visited the place several times a year and I was privileged to be there one year when the Grand Prix was on and another year when there was rallying going on. I can’t remember the years, but it was between 2003 and 2010. The atmosphere during the events was second to none and there are plenty of good bars along the seafront. Exciting times but unfortunately most of the other times it was just like living in a concrete jungle with plenty of dog poo on the streets. The place is so small it is outstanding that they can host these world class events. If you are into expensive cars, then it’s the place for you with quite a few showrooms as well as quality vehicles on the road. The vessels moored in the bay are of the best quality anywhere, that I have seen.
This channel is so cool honestly.
My favourite channel is now doing videos about my favourite sport... I’m in heaven
Puns are on point
F1 drivers love this track because of the challenge, which makes me appreciate it as much as they do. And it's still one of the races I look forward to.
They also have to start protecting the apartments because Mazepin will be flying into them
