  • “Towhead blonde” means his hair was extremely blonde (like platinum blonde) and “eyes of salt” is referring to the ocean (because it’s salty) and she’s saying his eyes were brilliantly blue. (0:53)

    • Eyes of salt actually means having dry eyes! Like your eyes start getting itchy or inflamed. She could be talking about the lack of emotions in his eyes or having watery eyes.

  • I’m not sure how this song fits this album unless she’s finally turning her focus away from herself to acknowledge the pain others around her are going through or living with. Child abuse is a serious topic to abruptly switch to. Wish she had written “re-li-gion” instead of “the Bi-ble.”
