When a struggling comedian shows one act of kindness to a vulnerable woman, it sparks a suffocating obsession which threatens to wreck both their lives.
I watched this show in two sittings, it was so chilling, and it was brave of Gadd to reenact his own experiences of having been stalked.
I watched it in 1 sitting
The rape of him was even worse for me to watch
CHILLING?! What show did you watch?
The "real Martha" said she didn't stalk him.. I wonder who is telling the truth lol
@@Wordlifematt she does an awful job at trying to make herself look better. She seems exactly like Martha and her interview is filled with lies and inconsistencies. Reminds of Prince Andrew's car crash of an interview.
Jessica Gunning is an absolutely amazing actress in this series. She deserves all the major awards. Love her.
it's the scene I realized how erotonamia is such a terrible mental illness, you can see how much she is suffering inside, it's at this moment I started to feel compassion for her too. Jessica did an incredible job portraying Martha's character with perfection.
What is that erotonamia
@@t.n.h.ptheneohumanpatterna8334 a delusion in which a person (typically a woman) believes that another person (typically of higher social status) is in love with them.
@@JonJo676 you responded very well indeed it's generally women but there are men too and also it's important to mention there are degrees in eurotanamia I have heard witnesses their life were in danger.
no
@JonJo676 but aren't 87% of stalkers male ?
I want to shout to him « Don’t talk to her »! He’s not responsible for her.
Same! But honestly, he was a good person for that. He just makes the wrongest decisions.
@@kunownedhh Agree. The sad thing is, narcissists and other such mentally-deranged people usually worm their way by taking advantage of the kindness and compassion of others, when they have only destructive behaviors to offer in return 😔 In this case, him taking care of her only validates her belief that she can manipulate him and she will want to drag him down even more
@@Montmartre83 it's like the old saying be careful who you're kind to
I’d watched it about 3 times beginning to end already. It’s just one of those rare shows that deserves this many watchings.
Jessica deserves an Emmy ❤❤❤
This scene made me feel so many conflicting emotions
This show is a masterpiece !
I loved everything about this show, the dynamic between Martha and Donny, and Martha’s character especially
Sometimes I feel sorry for her but other times I hate her. The actress is amazing
You'd never "feel sorry for her" if she was a male predator.
I need Trixie and Katya to react to this show 😢
U and me both, liege.
Annie Wilkes + Susan Boyle = Martha
This show is gonna get an Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for best limited series and best actress in a comedy Jessica Gunning
Jessica gunning sid an amazing job playing Martha. Sometimes the acting is just crazy good
See this wouldn't be a problem for me lol im very good at ignoring stupid people. If she wanted to sit outside all winter and catch pneumonia i wouldn't give a damn
…the dude has severe mental health issues and was sexually assaulted multiple times.
👸🏻We need Queens Trixie Mattel and Katya to watch and talk about this urgently ❤
Phenomenal ❤❤
Just saw this show and just watching her sit there all depressed I felt kinda bad for her
It's amazing that he picked a Tim Buckley song for this scene ❤❤❤ Sent from my Ipohne
I love Tim Buckley.
Does anyone know the song used at the very end? The one when he takes her back into her home
come wander with me jeff alexander but the singer is Bonnie Beecher
@@TELESHIT324 thanks for the help 👍👍

Anyone know the song in the background?
Song in yne background
Dedication
This is why i dont do stupid things for man, so miserable
am i the only person who never felt bad for her at any point in the show lol?
She's so creepy
I agree that its well-acted by the fat actress...marvelous job, but the storyline is too upsetting for me to continue. I saw through to the 2nd episode, realized that I was watching a very well crafted emotional trainwreck of a relationship (high marks!) but really--I couldn't continue it. Maybe I'll catch another episode when I've 'recovered' from the first two...but not till later...
Ep 4 is the worst 😮
calling her fat actress instead of just searching up her name or using another way to refer to her is wild 💀
She does have a name by the way...
“Fat actress” really?!
@@GangsterNerd1 well, thanks for being offended by the facts. I agree that it was a bit rude on my part. Call it a lapse of propriety. Is her name Martha Scott?
he confuse me if he likes her then why report hes stalked and if he doesn't want nothing to do with her why approach her please u have a mental illness right i understand that but running to the first person who gives u attention and stalking him is messed up he has a life to you know
Because he feels sorry for her even though shes stalking him, he doesnt hate her, he simply wants to be left alone and recognises that shes not able to
I was really invested in this, and terrified as well
Same situation happened to me. But the creep was the opposite neighbour.. very disturbing. He would know my schedule, what time I would leave, where I would go, etc 😒😒😒 very scary at times
Another horrible show.
I wouldn't say it's horrible, but I really don't think it deserves all the praise it's getting. The main chracter is so painfully dumb and makes horrible decisions, and is just generally unlikeable. The only reason people think it's so great is because it's based on a true story, so they consider Richard Gadd "so brave" and therefore it has to be a perfect show.
@@MatthewNY94that’s definitely not why people are praising it. It feels like you completely missed the point of the show. It’s about the effects of being victimized and how detrimental it can be to someone’s life. It delves into the theme in a very interesting and real way as well. Even if it wasn’t based off of a true story I think it would’ve been a success
@@MatthewNY94 based on a true story and he admits that he kept making awful decisions
@@Uglyweezer he is being victimized by his own self by making stupid decisions. He's definitely not a main character that I root for.
@@MatthewNY94 he acknowledges that the decisions he made were stupid and self-destructive. You literally are missing the whole point of the show
