DSC SYSTEM FAULT Jaguar X-Type temporary error
2002 MY Jaguar X-Type 2.1 V6 fitted with DSC SYSTEM.
This message: DSC SYSTEM FAULT appears only once then dissappears at cold starts or after driving with lights on+heater seats on+climate on for short distance or/after a long period of unuse of the car.
First you should have the recommended Jaguar battery 80 A not less!
The range of DSC module operates is 9-16 V.
A weak,disharged or aged battery or without required parameters can trigger the DSC fault.
Put the instrument cluster in TEST MODE and start the car.
If voltage when crank drop around 9 V or below the fault will occur because at every start the DSC module perform a self test(until the ABS light is off)and due to a temporary drop to low voltage the ECM will disable the DSC module until the required voltage is restored when the message will not be shown .
SO, IN THIS SITUATION, BEFORE ALL, CHECK THE BATTERY! .
A surprising number of faults show if the battery is low voltage. With Covid lockdown my car sits for 5 days or more and I am seeing a few faults as a result. These cars don't like standing with slow drain from CPU's. I am seeing the battery dropping to below 10V , particularly if the temperature is colder. (Jaguar XKR)
To prevent battery low voltage temporary faults you can disconnect the negative cable if the car is going to stay unused a long period(even a week) especially in cold temperature or use a battery charger(with voltage display) wich allows you after 15-20 min of charging a normal FIRST start condition. A below 10V dropping requires a full charge of the battery. XKR needs a 92 Ah battery for proper function of the control modules. *Battery Quiescent Drain The following chart shows the target figures for quiescent drain for various vehicle electrical systems: SYSTEM mA Engine management and cruise control 1.5 ICE (standard or premium) 2 Phone 0.5 Perimeter alarm and RF receiver 4 Security LED 1 ABS / DSC 0.5 Instrument cluster 2 Climate control 1 Clock 1 Navigation 2 TV 0.5 Telematics display 0.5 Voice control 1 Maximum quiescent drain (all systems) : approximately 30 mA
hi i've got 2007 x type fault showing is ABS 2 faults showing disc sytem fault & cruise control not working can you addvise what the fault is
Do you have the DTC codes? The MIL is on? It is very difficult to assess without these codes. Also is important to know the correct messages:DSC SYSTEM FAULT and CRIUSE NOT AVAILABLE. Is these the messages?
Related to Cruise Control not working if you want to engage it:if a fault is present in the DSC/TC/ABS module, the ECM will disable the CC; in most cases if the ABS lamp and MIL in the dash are both iluminating and a message is shown in the LCD-if fitted could be the followings: -ABS sensor(rare damaged,often dirty) -A broken harness between ABS sensor and ABS module(often the front wheels) -An ABS ring wich help the sensor to read the spin of the rear wheels-only at the AWD models Also brake cancel switch and brake switch both mounted on the top of brake pedal could be the problem. YAW sensor if the car has DSC could be a problem. An incorrect inflating and alignment of the wheels could be a problem. And much more if you do not have the error codes scaned.

C1975 refers to DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL(DSC) Fault description: DSC SIGNAL CONFLICT Posibile causes: -steering angle sensor incorrectly installed or not calibrated(recalibrate on tester) -yaw rate sensor incorrectly installed To investigate the above described causses could be very expensive. First of all do an alignment check of front wheels with the steering wheel centered and then a direction adjustment and wheels geometry.

@@dinu-sorinvasilescu1842 the warning light DSC comes on when I take a bend at high speed and then goes off immediately, causing the car to skid too.
@@luigidesantis1604 C1975 îs the only DTC scanned and stored? Check for continuity the wire between ABS sensor socket and DSC module socket on both front L ,R wheels or change these cables one by one to see if the error still appear. One of these cables or both cables can be worn in the grip on the shock absorber and when turning suddenly they stretch and cause interruptions in receiving the signal from the ABS sensor to the DSC module, temporarily disabling it.
