    • Have you ever considered a moving event for max? Static events could be for reps on the same show to avoid to much pressure on the athletes and then injuries. Think about it this way, small distance, say about 4 or 5 meters. The athlete chooses the weight and has to carry it in their hands/back without dropping for a "good lift", if they succeed the weight goes up like a rising bar event, distance is the tie breaker for same weight, and time would be out of the equation so they don't have to rush and something goes wrong. This would be great for farmers, frame and yoke, but if you want to go crazy use a tow bar to add the 4th, 5th, maybe 6th truck in a truck pull for max event. I think Giants Live team is very smart when choosing events, and idk how dangerous moving events for max would be, but I think it is at least a worth discussing idea. I hope you consider it.

    • Yeah that was an incredible spectacle. People said the 500kg would never be seen in his generation. They said it was impossible. What he did was astounding. I think people forget that he didn't just beat the record by 2kg, 5kg or even 10kg - he beat it by 36kg!! That lift set a standard that had never been seen before. It was in a different league, and wasn't an incremental, tiny increase - he annihilated the record by a huge margin.

  • Big Z and 2017 Eddie Hall are by far the best static lifters. Eddie had more on the axle, could have done the 230kg log press, and the first to reach 500kg on the deadlift. And then obviously Big Z set the tone for a lot of these records.

  • I love these competitions. As a physician, I worry about the health and longevity of these men but do not deny that it is their pleasure and choice. They are just amazing in their feats. I come from a family of Norwegian immigrants. My grandfather, father, and uncles were legendary in the farming community for their strength but they were no where near what these men can do.
