Ofcourse the Mclaren would win, the 4 turbo chargers in that Bugatti dont even work half as efficiently in Abu Dhabi's scorching hot weather.
Don't deny it Both these cars were way ahead of their time. They both took the limiter of what we thought was possible and turned it up to 11 and then some.
Yea but in retrospect the f1 was purity of design, the Bugatti was a brute force solution to beating the f1 that compromised it in virtually every driving measure except speed.
The Veyron doesn't look bad but it still looks brutish and you can tell now 10 years later that it's design doesn't hold up with time, on the other hand the F1's sleek design is just timeless.

The McLaren would have won a 1/4 mile race, maybe even a 1/2. Either way it put up a good fight
McLaren F1 does 0-60 in 3.9s Bugatti veyron does 0-60 in 2.5s This video is extremely exaggerated for entertainment purposes.
Marx Mill power numbers are not everything. The Bugatti is a milestone, but the F1 is a legend. The Bugatti is heavier, has to spool up the four Turbos. The MacLaren is a NA; no lag or Turbo threshold, and almost half the weight. Sheer power advantage on higher speeds with the Bugatti is a fact, but only passing the F1 at around 180 miles per hour.... F1 is the winner.

Hot cheetos I agree, the Bugatti is a fast car in a straight line, but where can you reach 180 miles per hour to take over a F1. I absolutely like the Veyron. But ever seen a Veyron on a track? The F1 on LeMans spanked the specially for racing made Porsche’s. And what about the price tag on a Veyron versus an F1, if you have the money, to buy one. This one was Rowan Atkinson’s car. You can look up for what he sold it for even totaling it couple of times.....
Hot cheetos simple example; I used to own a E39 M5. A very nice and fast car. Nowadays I own a tuned (265BHP, 371Nm, real dyno results) Mini R56 Cooper S. The Mini is way faster then the M5.... but at higher speeds no chance for the Mini. Reason, displacement of the M5. But acceleration; the M5 was 1695kg dry, the mini 1105kg. Much better weight to power en torque ratio.

@@CoryWolfheart_89 fine pull the wing off a long tail set up for the track. I'm sure it will still get beat, but I'm sure a lightened track prepped F1 would have a better go at it. But then the same could be said for the Bug. The Supersport would then widen the gap again 😂😂. I'm a fan of both cars, and this was truly EPIC to get to see.
@@gapyrodawg5181 man the ss has 200hp more than the reg Veyron that'll beat the hell out of the f1, even if it is the lt version, and as one guy said in comments this race is overproduced, like, the bug as heavy as it is reaches 62mph in 2.5 sec, there is no way for the F1 taking the lead first, as this video shows

Um carro de 2005, com 16 cilindros, 8.0 quadriturbo e 1001 cavalos de potência, contra um projeto de 1993, V12 6.1 e 627 cavalos... E mesmo assim, o F1 saiu bem a frente do Veyron. O F1 é um dos melhores carros produzidos até hoje.

Si te refieres a eso, el buggatti veyron no es tan rápido a diferencia de el Mclaren F1, también la carrera fue muy larga.
El McLaren F1 fue construido para ser un auto de performance. el Bugatti fue construido para ser el deportivo de lujo definitivo, y lo es! Hasta hoy en día. Es justamente su fuerza bruta la que lo pone por delante del F1. Pero es increíble la supremacía que tuvo el F1 en su época, y cuánto duró su reinado. Definitivamente un auténtica leyenda del automotor.

@@eliasrdx el veyron fue construido para romper un record, fuera de eso es totalmente inutil en una pista, con 1800 kilos de peso no toma una curva sin derrapar, es un barco en todo explendor. por eso para mi no es el coche mas rapido ni de lejos

It takes 16 cylinders and 4 turbo's and 8.0lts to beat a car that much older. Definitely not impressed. F1 is best naturally aspirated engine ever

Remember the Bug is quite heavy(over 4,000lbs) nearly double that of the F1.
I don't agree, the best NA V12 engine is the one Cosworth manufactured with the help from Aston Martin featured in the upcoming Valkyrie, 1050hp and revs up to 11k rpm, not to mention it is an emision complient roadcar, a really beautiful piece of engineering in my opinion.
@@CoryWolfheart_89 compare apples with apples. F1 was produced 2 decades ago. You telling me it took 2 decades to beat a Na engine with gold foil and titanium gearbox to beat recently. It's like supercar blonde. All incredibly beautiful cars but never track tested or tested on the road. All show but no go.
There’s a neat backstory about this race in The Stig’s book “How To Drive” the F1 belongs to Rowan Atkinson: Mr. Bean. “B-b-b-b-be very careful with the clutch” was his parting advice, concerned about the insane value of the thing. Colin (The Stig) makes a funny comparison on how the two cars handled 200+MPH “In the Bugatti you were thinking about where you might like to have dinner that evening, while in the McLaren you are basically shitting yourself.”
So in the quarter mile the McLaren is still faster Bare in mind that this is a one mile drag race That’s actually amazing

The fact that the Mclaren was still able to be ahead of the Veyron for about half of the race speaks volumes
it breaks me still how the f1 just almost destroyed the veyron as i love the veyron a lot like to the maximum. I love the f1 and it’s iconic but seeing almost beat the veyron makes me upset because i walkways adored the veyron mostly the original one from 2006. The veyron mostly got outclassed by other cars with handling, hp, or just better performance and top speed. I hope Bugatti can do even better in the future and make a car that can destroy the porsche 919 hybrid evo. I already have a bugatti concept car in mind but I won’t say it. 😢

McLaren F1 has been my all time favourite not because its powerful but it s the most beautifull car ever made. Its been my dream car since i played Need for speed high stakes in my childhood.

F1 came out in the 90s and was the fastest car for over a decade, the veyaron came in 2011s... 20- yr technology gap and the veyron was still behind for half a mile

I'd still own the McLaren F1 over any car. Even after all these years F1 owners still use it often, it still drives very well after all those years.

When you think about it, the Veyron isnt that amazing compared to the old McLaren F1. Seriously, the Veyron got 300+ more HP than the McLaren, 4 more cylinders, 4 turbos, etc ... just to win with such a small gap! The F1 made the Veyron kinda useless if you ask me !
É por isso que o F 1 até hoje é um dos melhores carros já construídos, com mais de 20 ANOS, AINDA da trabalho para os carros da atualidade, com todas as tecnologias e novos materiais...
And to think my stick family sedan in 2021 with two baby seats in the back can now out accelerate both of these.

The f1 is one of the best car in history. It is an icon and and example of how a car should be. The bugatti is the fastest truck in the world. It is'n really a sportcar. It is a heavy machine made for richs that doesn't know how to drive a real car.

What years were they built? What was sticker price and horsepower? How is this fair?
Mclaren F1 was built in 1996, has 640hp and it cost over 300,000$ when it was launched, now they are going for 2 million $$$, you can buy 2 Mclaren P1s for that and would probably lose against its successor Bugatti Veyron came out in 1999 as a concept, production came to life at 2006, cost between 850,000-1,000,000$, on paper it has 1000hp but dyno claims it only makes 980hp which is still impressive for a 2 ton supercoupe, the current model now makes about 1300hp but overthrowd by its newer models, the Chiron and LaVoiture

When a car can hit over 250mp/h, why would you only race a 1/4 mile? 0-60 and 1/4 miles are kiddies races for a hypercar.
the F-1 (or even the off-the shelf Porsche gt3) will utterly obliterate the Veyron around the Nurburgring. embarrassingly the Veyron does not even make the top-100 times on the Nurburgring.

Not really, even the 959 had more tech, the F1 is much more like the F40, you havo no tcs, no abs, no ecs, no power steering, it is basically pure a work of aerodynamics, chassi rigidity and power.
