Same with folks from New York who migrated elsewhere and couldn't wait for people to be thrilled they were from New York and pause for the applause. They were as ordinary and uninteresting as anyone else, of course, unless they had actually done something to EARN some sort of holy regard and supplication.

And his brother works as an engineer at a major company. They're also both super awesome, funny, interesting people. I find it funny too that growing up I found it easiest to make friends with Mexicans. Motherfuckin white kids were like all elitist about how hard they were working.... Mexican friends working just as hard but you don't even notice them looking stressed out or breaking a sweat and being chill. • I can relate entirely. We were poor compared to most because of my mom's single income as a cashier while going to school. She finished school became a teacher & we were still more poor than the people around us. I ended up relating to the guys that grew up rough more than the well off & glorified jail time & rough times that make you hard. Fell into crowds that glorified that too much & ended up in prison myself. Learned the hard way don't look up to anything or anyone other than your future self & your loved one's that actually went through hell all for their love for you.

  • Some of what Dave Chappelle says is funny just because of his delivery and the words he chooses. It's amazing. I love that he adds subtlety to his sense of humour. So he'll build up a joke you think is going one way, but he'll bring it down to somewhere which isn't as serious as you thought it go. Most comedians take their jokes from point "a" and they are for sure going to slap you with point "b", the obvious punchline, but I love the way Dave Chappelle doesn't feel the need to. It's more unpredictable.
