Here's just over 20 Small Details in Max Payne 3... This game is great and despite being a more linear title than the likes of some of Rockstar other popular titles, it is still incredibly detailed & well though out.
I first played this back in 2014 & it is still in my Top 10 favourite games, if you haven't played it then you're seriously missing out!
Hope you enjoy! :)
Next week we return to RDR2 & it's never-ending abundance of detail :)

This game has so many awesome moments, but that shootout in the airport when Tears starts playing is one of Rockstar's best
Tears at airport? Yeee, dat fuking hard boss fight ;_;
Up there with the American Venom shootout at the end of RDR2. Has the same energy and impact.
For real, that was such an awesome moment and extremely memorable.
max payne is way better than gta 5 tbh

People don’t know but MP3 was the blueprint for all future Rockstar games. A lot of features like the dot reticle, body and shooting physics, flashback sequences, zoom on kill shots, and most of the attention to realism was tested with this game first
sums up about Michael tho, as is Midnight Club LA (yet another forgotten gem by R*) be a future mechanic for Franklin
GTA IV had dot reticle, if you change the crosshair from complex to simple.
After MP3 we only had two games, GTA V and RDR2, and only the latter took those features from it, although the dot reticle and shooting physics kinda were already in GTA IV and RDR1.
Even one of the OST of MP3 inspired GTA V loading music.
Max Payne 3 is Rockstar's best game ever in terms of Combat and gunplay.

Although obvious, one of my favourite details is how the weapons you carry and outfit you are using are integrated in the in-game cutscenes. Not many games can pull that off so seamlessly
It's my favourite one alongside noticing Max's beard and head stubble grow.
The Witcher 3 also does this, but for a game this old is actually amazing
@@MJo2321even though it's one of my favourite games of all time, all the unskippable cutscenes become too annoying after you replay the game on every difficulty level and start playing arcade modes, the cutscenes can really bore and discourage you, especially if you fail and have to replay the whole level
Cough.. all souls games
@Kashi and every time you have to use it, you have to pull out a guide book on which cutscenes you can skip, cuz there are cutscenes that crash the game if skipped
7:35 Max: “I have to save the lady” *Puts down gun on the piano* “But first, I gotta play my theme”

Piano playing starts at 7:35 and ends in 9:00. Also, anyone notice the fact that of all the pianos being played in the game, only the battered, old, and abandoned piano actually worked wonders at the end of all this. Reminds us of Max himself. As Max Payne said in his finally successful piano moment, "Finally."
i like how he's worse at playing the piano in chapter 8 than in chapter 1 since chapter 8 is a flashback

This is a gem of a game! One detail which I feel you missed is that you can carry only 1 normal gun, 1 small machine gun (or dual wield both) and 1 big gun (which max holds in his other hand) at one time, unlike in other games where you can carry an entire arsenal of weapons. It is *because* the game is linear Rockstar had had the opportunity to to truly focus on detailing every single level. Oh, and BODYGUARD of course
Yes but rockstar also puts this much detail in their open worlds too
This game 9 years old and have no vehicle driving mechanic but they decided to add little detail that when you shot car tires they actually damaging.. YEAH IM LOOKING AT YOU CYBERPUNK 2077
Because its more linear and much smaller environment. Though i agree, for a game that was in development in past 6 years, CP to be in this current state is embarrassment. Even with all examples they have to make open world FP game (dying light for example) they managed to fuckd it up. Its not a bad game, but very disappointing that lacks a lot of open world elements....

Just replayed it last month. One of the best third person shooters of all time, aged extremely well. It's a shame that we don't see more linear games from Rockstar.
They have also made 2 Manhunt games but the second didn't age pretty well overall
@@DJ_Thanos Yeah they didn't age well. People still remember them for their shock value though.

Classic, old, gives you the 70's or 80's mafia vibe an absolutely amazing master piece
This game is a pure gem
It's possibly the most underrated game of all time. The gunplay is the best I've ever seen in gaming without a doubt.
Another Rockstar title, Another detail video
one of the best rockstar title.
This game really paved the way for how Rockstar made games this decade. Most of the mecanics and details they created for max Payne 3 would be included in GTA5 and RDR2. They're truly among the best game developers there is, and this game is a gem.
GTA V didn't include many mechanics from Max Payne 3.
The Soundtrack of this game is so Fantastic.
It's up there with Silent Hill 2 and Hotline Miami for me as I must listen to at least one song from each of those games once a day. I always play Tears after work on Friday so I can imagine myself walking into the sun like a badass.

People look at me like I'm a weirdo when I'm asked what my favourite game ever is and I answer Max Payne 3. This game is the most satisfying, fun, replayable, and atmospheric experience I've ever had in gaming. A remaster of the Payne trilogy MUST happen one day. It'd be one of the best things gaming has had in a long time.
One neat detail I was reminded of in the last shot is that when you shoot bullets near hanging cloth, the cloth moves from the disturbed air the bullet would cause irl. Been looking out for that in other games ever since. :D
This is one of the greatest games of all time. I recently replayed it for the third or fourth time and it still amazes me in so many ways. Every single thing about is is excellent - the combat and physics (still unmatched to this day), the visuals, the atmosphere, the writing, the music, etc. So much love went into this game, and it's an absolutely perfect send-off to one of video game's greatest characters - no one writes tough, troubled male protagonists like Dan Houser does, and alongside RDR2 this is my favourite Rockstar game.
I think the attention to detail and the amazing writing shows that if Rockstar wanted to, they could definitely compete with Naughty Dog for linear 3rd person shooter story games

Yes, it was a really good episode that I watched with great interest. I would just like to note that even a detail, but rather a beautiful view in the mission, where we jump from the helicopter to the helipad. There is really a very beautiful view of the city. But the view is breathtaking. For real. And even cars drive.
2:05 happened to me in the cutscene where max holds becker at gunpoint in his office - you can imagine i was in stitches

What's great is that alot of these details have evolved in future Rockstar Games. Max Payne 3 in particular had many beginnings such as: * Dirtying clothes to RDR 2 * Sweaty clothes to GTA V * Entry/Exit wounds to GTAV, updated from RDR1 * Working weapon slides/hammers and magazines to GTA V, updated from Max Payne 1/2 * Weapon attachments * Hair growing to GTA V (Trevor only it seems), and RDR2 If you pay attention to the details R* puts in each game, it makes you excited for the next evolution of their games level of detail.

Excellent video man. Love this game since it’s release.
I love how this game is basically the blueprint to GTAV and rdr2. I like seeing Arthur Morgan holding a rifle on one hand while equipping the side arm just like Max Payne
Im from São Paulo, so i was curious about all details in the game, in the bus depot level when you are attacked by cracha preto, there is a radio conversation that the own level music kinds of makes it difficult to hear, I went to game files to hear what they are saying. Turns out it was two bus drivers, one was warning the other about a big police operation around the terminal and the cops was telling everyone to go away and not giving any further information. This is about how the own police force was supporting Cracha Preto in their hunt for max and the girl, not allowing anyone else coming closer while the gang tried to get him.
Hey, man! I know a year has passed but still, I'm very curious, where exactly can you hear this conversation on this level? I very much appreciate your dedication, never knew this detail. And what did you use to access the game's audio files, btw? I'd be very glad if you told me, because I love this game. This detail actually makes sense because if you take a closer look during a pre-level cutscene, in which Max and Giovanna are seen on the bus stop, you can see a cop looking at them and saying something into an earpiece (Giovanna even notices that, saying "I just saw a cop looking at me"). It always made me think the local police (not only UFE but some regular cops) are affiliated with Cracha Preto.
It's definetly something IRL Brazilian police would do. You'd be surprised on how many corrupt cops are around in cities like São Paulo or Rio.
If you listen to the quotes and observe his facial expressions and the wounds the poor man had it will make you depressed at the same time !!! One of the best characters ever created
The main theme is very nostalgic

You can also avoid (but still need to act) another combat. If you use the improvised silencer to kill the 2 soldiers you can avoid trouble and in the chapter where you evade the island, while sneaking you can shoot a brick off a pickup truck that it kept stopped and run over 2 guys Also, when Max played the piano properly, his smile looked so odd get heartwarming
Wow, another great video. Didn't know max payne 3 had such details
Another amazing detail to talk about is that the enemies react accord to the certain part of its body you shooting at. (9:27 "max shots guy's arm")the guy said "Oh my arm!" In spanish.
