its basically the same team. And I remember when they released the previous designs. Many people were complaining like now but in the end it looks up to date. And honestly when I first saw the shark previews I didnt like it either. But now it looks up to date imo.

It not a bad thing. The bad is, the put the new design at the lower level cars first, not the S Class. The previous gen design was first appeared on the S Class and then goes down, and that's absolutely fine.

Just bought an E class 2012 model and I have fell in love with it. This new one is just bling, with most of the tech being adopted from the older models. It is a stunning car to drive and I love it!

Since he joined Carwow in 2016, they almost hit 5 million subs. For a comparison, in the same period, Carbuyer (his last channel) grown with sth like 50k remaining below 600k.
What about the cars!? If Matt had to work on his own to procure every car shown in the channel then you could give him that much credit. I doubt you would be saying that if he did drag videos with exotics like once a year? Otherwise all he does it read up on the cars and plan out his script. Everything else must be a bonus to him since it’s clear to see he’s a petrol head.

I just sold my E series and I think they did a great upgrade to the interior with the new version I’m not so keen on the exterior but overall it was a great car and the best part trouble free with a little over 100,000 miles. I did upgrade to a GLE 350 diesel which I thoroughly enjoyed it very comfortable
If that’s what the AMG line looks like then I cannot imagine what the entry level ones look like 🤢

Much better, I don't understand why anyone would pick an AMG-line appearance pack on any non-AMG Mercedes bar a few. The fake vents don't suit any of the models and the base spec wheels are awful.

The interior is still as good as ever (although the previous steering wheel looked cooler), but goddamn, the exterior is actually a downgrade in my opinion. Mostly in the lights department. Both front and back lights just look more dull and generic than before, making the whole car look more dull.
Also, the front headlights look very feminine imo.

merc saloons always looked the same except during different facelift perioda between the models. the old e-class was almost indistinguishable from the c-class. the same will hold true when the c class gets a lift.

i’ve had both an e class and 5 series (18 plate e class & 19 plate 5 series) and after doing long journeys in both, nothing compares to the comfort of an e class, 5 series wasn’t comfortable for a 3 hour a drive
front running LED's remind me of cupra/seat leon , or generally leon lineup, i liked the old 2 floating lines in headlights too :/
The E class is a finished masterpiece of what you get when Mercedes exterior designers have just copied and pasted a picture of the A class onto a word-document and expanded it from all sides
It’s just economies of scale same tires same trims same everything means cheaper in bulk when buying/manufacturing. Makes you wonder why you would pay more than an a class which has all you need

Looking to upgrade my E43 in the next year or two, and given the new exterior styling I guess it won't be with an E-Class. The S7 is looking tempting, however.

@@SDav21 With that logic, anything you buy for vanity reasons is wrong. Why not wear sweatpants all day to all occasions. Appearances matter. And driving what you consider to be a nice looking car, is definitely both feels good and is a good confidence boost.

My favorite modern E class was between 2014-2016. I have one in mint condition in grey metallic and it’s and amazing car. Same goes the the S class in those years. The exterior after 2016 went downhill big time. Fake exhaust are a deal breaker
I have a week ago got the E450 4 matic -- Excately same as in this film! This is a very nice car - Comming from a S560e even though it is a smaller car I do feel this is much more a driving machine
The rest quarter panel area looks like how you'd expect the cheapest Korean sedan to look.
Maybe that's not the best comparison now that Korean cars are more luxurious than their rivals at every price bracket lol. If you want cheap, try GM!

@Kaif Din the new m254 petrol engine is extremely innovative it has 272hp 4 cylinder engine turbocharged with isg system (mild-hybrid). The technology used in this car is also used in formula 1 engines. This engine consumes like 5liters in real life if you don't drive crazy. And I'm sorry what's so great about your Toyota. Oh yes it uses Hybrid system that's like 20years old is nothing new. It's boring, its not really powerful and it's loud because of its cvt. The Mercedes is more innovative my friend. I hope you learned something and don't spread facts that are not true like 70% of the engine are out of plastic.
Don’t forget the AMG performance ones are getting quieter.

Beautiful and luxurious Mercedes E Class 2020, I like the classic design of the Mercedes, I like the beautiful interior of the car. I like the high tech dashboard with a digital speedometer and infotainment system. I like the leather chair and I like the perfume dispenser. The car is very comfortable
Mercedes lost their minds on designing. 2021 S class is going to be the next disaster. Merc boys are dissatisfied and disappointed.

I drove one of these last week, more precisely the E300de, and it was just WOW, really a great-looking car, inside and out, respect to Mercedes and I'm a BMW guy for years. Would really want to own this car at some point.

Great review as usual. Disappointed that you don't list/consider the XF as a class challenger? I'd take that any day, especially the new 2012 against this taxi, especially with that stupid controller MB uses. so please review the new XF.

Mercedes' quality is unquestionable. But the car looks so basic for the price. If I were in the market I'd probably get the year before, or wait for a redesign.
Even their build quality has fallen behind Audi and BMW significantly

The front looks like A class. I miss the days when each class had their own distinct design. Now they all look alike. When you are buying a C class, you no longer can claim you prefer the looks of C class over the E Class. It only means one thing, you can’t afford E and S class;)
The rear is almost identical
Back in the ole days they looked like eachother too, just look up a picture of the 1986 model lineup and youll see what i mean
