  • So for reference, a complete kit with accelerator pump costs $110 from this site. 2 years ago when I was rebuilding a cx500 that hadn't been registered since 98 (on my channel if you want to see) I rebuilt the carbs, pouring over many websites, waiting for shipping times, and from my records paid almost $150, nickle and diming me to death buying all the small parts individually. I didn't see great reviews on the cheap ones from Amazon, so I generally avoided those. This is fricken amazing dude, I may just buy another dilapidated cx500 now just so I can use this kit and feel like a champion the first time lol.

When I did the carbs on an '82 Suzuki GS1100 I hooked up the choke/throttle cables first, then put the carbs in the intake boots -- it was easier to finagle the cables when I could freely move the carbs around. • CB750s gonna get some love in the future😁. I love the idea and concept behind this kit....this is something I would support. Me and my dad rebuild my 80' 750 carbs about 4 years ago, and that wasn't cheap, and was tedious trying to get quality parts. Sadly, I had to reuse some parts because some parts were not readily available or just cheeply made long story short we got the bike to finally idol which it wouldnt do from day one of me owning it, but small issues rose like blow back thru carb on cylinder 1 which is a fire hazard 🤦‍♂️another story for another time so i parked the bike 3 years ago havent touched it since....

I don’t have the acid you use in your other video (on the Ranger’s carbs). Thanks in advance for taking the time to reply! 🙏🏼

    @Sjors126@Sjors12614 күн бұрын
    • No issue at all. The regular mix will won't damage brass but may not work as well as other brass-specific chemicals

  • This will be another life saver. I can't tell you how many rebuild kits I've bought only to use maybe 2 parts out of the whole thing. It looks like the float bowl gaskets fit a lot better, it seems I'm always fighting to get those to fit. I'm hoping this will work for my 82' GL500. Off topic but I am going to convert a cx500 engine from CDI to TI for another GL project. Have you done this? Is it just as easy as switching the firing guts? Keep up the great Vids my Dude!

    @NoSlogan@NoSloganАй бұрын
    • The right parts definitely save time! The gl500 will be the same so no worries. As far as converting to TI you should be able to swap on the pickup, pulsers, spark units, a d right coils to make it work

      @BrickHouseBuilds@BrickHouseBuildsАй бұрын
    • @@BrickHouseBuilds Excellent on both those things! I have a complete GL bike just the engine was problematic, then I broke the camshaft (long story) and made it more problematic. So picked up this 78' CX500 engine that's in really good condition. Figured I would just run it instead of yanking the cam out and putting it in the GL engine. I've never done this swap before but I've read on the cx500 forum of others having good luck. Something about the black and white wire coming out of the right handlebar controls though. Like it needing to be in the off position to make it run? Do you know what they might be talking about?

      @NoSlogan@NoSloganАй бұрын
    • @NoSlogan well in a CDI setup that wire gets grounded to kill. In a TI setup it needs 12v. You would have to modify accordingly

  • I checked the website out but I am a Suzuki guy and didn't really see anything for them. I take it they are primarily CB and KZ oriented.

    • Suzuki parts are coming. I know it's hard to find orings for the GS bikes.

    • @@BrickHouseBuilds That will be great. I am always apprehensive buying kits from ebay or Amazon. Thanks

  • Wow that's a hell of a lot of plastic in that kit. What's wrong with paper bags?

    • Its to aid in visibility. Remember these are not only aimed at experts but also beginners so making things easily visible is important. You can immediately see if you missed a screw or something.

      @BrickHouseBuilds@BrickHouseBuildsАй бұрын
    • There are a few reasons for that. The kits need to be user friendly, readily available, and stand up to international shipping. I would love to use paper instead, but for this application it just isn't feasible. If we just shipped everything in a paper bag the kits would arrive looking like a soup sandwich!

  • 4.1.24. ⚠️@ the 25:00 mark I noticed that you didn’t check the float height on the carburetors 🫨

    @stevensapyak7971@stevensapyak7971Ай бұрын
    • Thats because these are non adjustable. The needles are in good shape and visually they were where they needed to be. Check my cb750 carb rebuild videos if you want to see me measure float heights

    • @@BrickHouseBuilds 4.2.24. I’ve never run across a carburetor without an adjustable float tang on a Motorcycle before. Thanks for the enlightenment.✅
