Cain On Knockout Loss To Ngannou

In February 2019 UFC legend Cain Velasquez made his return to the octagon to face Heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou in a UFC Fight Night main event. The fight would last only 26 seconds as Ngannou would time a punch while Velasquez was going for a takedown, which would also lead to a knee injury for himself. Velasquez would explain how the injury happened after the big punch, and how the awkward punch thrown by Ngannou surprised him. #francisngannou #cainvelasquez #shorts #ufc

  • Just to be clear, Cain is not saying Francis landed an illegal punch. He is only trying to explain how the loss happened. He initially thought the loss was due to a knee injury, but later realized he was knocked out. He gives Francis credit for winning a fair fight, but speaks about the unusual angles Ngannou's punches come from.

    • @@JonnySoJuicy it wasn’t a clean direct blow but it was a hit to the back of the head which doesn’t have to have a to of force especially with a dude like Francis, there’s a reason it’s banned. Also the part where both needs would be wobbly is just BS. Guys blackout all the time and some may still be standing or even drop on one knee. I had this happen to me in a school fight, I went to take the dude down, was hit in the back of the head during it, it was broken up by some teachers right after that blow and one of the teachers took my arm and started walking me to the office, as I was walking I got tunnel vision for a sec then blacked out for a couple seconds after that, I almost fell but I actually came back and was still walking and was just in a haze. Same thing happened to Cain where he said he was out at that point on his feet, so he went out after the blow and was actually still fighting for a second then one leg gave out. All depends on the blow, that’s why when announcers say “he’s hurt” a lot of the time its after the dude was rocked and he may be still fighting but he’s just in a daze and may not be too aware of his surroundings

    • @@rayromano6249Are you saying shit just to be saying it...? Because that's objectively not what happened here. If you're talking about when he was out *on his feet*, there was nothing clear about it, in real time; he regains consciousness so quickly that the ref didn't realize it/didn't step in, and Cain himself says he didn't even know it until after "*really* looking at the tape". Francis can't see Cain's face, but he *can* see a man still standing in front of him; what would make him think--much less *know*--that Cain is unconscious? If you're talking about *after* Cain goes down (not that it matters, because A) this isn't boxing, and B) not only has he regained consciousness at that point - he's actively defending himself, both by covering his face with his left hand, and rolling to his right): Francis hits him twice while he's on the ground--both punches thrown in less than one second (seriously, you can see the clock go from 4:37 to 4:36)--then pulls back so as to avoid connecting with a 3rd punch, as the ref is in the process of stepping in. Short of developing superhuman speed and/or the ability to see the future, Francis could not have done more to ensure that he didn't unnecessarily harm his opponent. (And it wouldn't be unreasonable to say that his ability to pull back that third punch was borderline superhuman, under the circumstances).

  • All the casuals in the comment section are missing the point LMAO, you’re not allowed to hit behind the ear. Meaning to say Francis hit him outside the safe zone and illegally in terms of UFC rules. That’s what Cain means by “better control” and “learning how to hit”, not teaching him how to throw a punch correctly. Do you guys even watch MMA or jump on the hype train everytime a fighter makes headlines?
