  • Glad to see nothing is attached to the back cover, in my case I got one, and after having it three weeks I noticed one side is kind of wobbly, and slightly loose, like it wasn't glued or shaped quite right to fit snuggly like the others. Compared to the one I got my mom and mines unique in that so defect. Was concerned if connections between parts and the screen might fail, but seeing this and how it's all on the screen, a slight wiggle in that part of the backing shouldn't be an issue. Kept watching all the way through, good tutorial for if I ever need it. Though if teaching first timers, a closer up on the ribbon cable to main board attachment point from the screen might be good, just looking here a bit hard to tell just how that attaches and removes properly.

  • This convinced me to take it in for repair. I am pretty sure that I'll do more damage to the unit if I try this myself. The old, one wrong move syndrome 😮

    • There are good tool sets. You can buy for about $10 with different screw heads(at least 8-10)

  • Where can I buy a new LCD display for a decent price? I have this and part of the display is cracked... Everything I see is about 80$ half the cost of the tablet. Great video btw doesn't seem as hard as I thought.

  • Isn't it possible to only replace the glass? My tablet fell on the floor and the display glass broke but everything is working fine. Do I really have to replace the whole LCD? As someone already pointed out an LCD costs more than half the price the device is worth.
