The Muto Prime is super close to becoming Non-canon and completely deleted from the Monsterverse. Monarch Legacy of Monsters has basically implied that this kaiju never existed.. but there is still time to fix this issue. This episode will discuss how, or how this Kaiju risks becoming obsolete.

He did, thankfully. I interviewed Greg Keyes, and he says that MUTO Prime still exists in the Monsterverse, and him being the writer of The Novelization Of KOTM, GVK, And GXK, which makes his statements more important then those of the LOM show, still great video though! And Great VIA Effects!

I believe the incident with Muto Prime still happened in broad strokes. It's the same way Lee Shaw is still canon even though his first appearance in Godzilla Awakening is no longer acknowledged. At the very least something occurred off screen that caused Godzilla's dorsal fins to change shape.

nah it's still canon, just at the state of hyper soft canon at this point
-Legendary themselves acknowledged her as canon during the MV Watchalong in 2020. -Dagon exists, and there’s a flat out understanding of what happened to him in Aftershock: -the MUTO Prime is mentioned in the KOTM novelization. -the show is set in 2015, which is nearly a year after Aftershock, and there isn’t anything contradicting the timeline. -the director of the show stated that the show is its own thing and it “diverged” from the movies. So the show is soft canon in reality. -in terms of the canon of the MUTO Prime not being mentioned, it’s easy: Serizawa and the higher ups kept the MUTO Prime classified from the others who are under them. P.S. in terms of Awakening and Shinomura, the Shinomura was mentioned in the KOTM novel, and the show itself has inconsistencies (as it tried to act like Godzilla was hit with ONE nuke while the G14 film and special feature Operation: Lucky Dragon flat out showed that he was hit by SEVERAL at once, and KSI also mentioned multiple “tests”).
So Monarch Legacy is like an alternate timeline with the major stuff still the same but the minor stuffs in between are changed

@@finleydoyle4913 Godzilla: Awakening isn’t canon, but Shinomura is because it was mentioned in KOTM novel, it may have been killed in a separate nuclear blast around the time of Castle Bravo test on Godzilla.
I would agree if it wasn't for Maddie saying in Aftershock that she saw Emma on the news after the Prime was killed and Maddie was aware of what happened

Nice analysis and it's surprising nobody in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters seem to notice that Godzilla's dorsal plates looked different when he awoke.
In king of the monsters he already evolved when he first appeared in that movie but the monarch series is a prequel to that movie.. it showed how he evolved

Yeah, as someone who is also Star Wars fan, I can tell you, the longer the Monsterverse goes on, the more plot contradictions there will be between movies, shows, and comics. Its pretty much inevitable.

I honestly still consider the MUTO prime to be a canon creature, as it shows a connection to the mutos in 2014, as well as the skeletal remains of one of Godzilla's own kind Daegon, and the change in Godzilla's dorsal plates. Not to mention that even if the Monarch legacy of monsters series doesn't acknowledge the events of Godzilla aftershock, it doesn't mean that the events didn't happen, especially since the series actually contradicted what happened to Godzilla during the attempt to destroy him during 1954.
Fr we seen the new species of muto in the show so prime should be in it but they should put it in the last season if they then even we had titamac and other creatures that destroyed zilla

Only the comic Godzilla Awakening stopped being Canon, because before it was decanonized it already had inconsistencies and contradictions with the Lore of the Monsterverse, however the rest of the comics continue to be part of the history of this universe, well remember that the fight that Godzilla had with the Muto Prime occurred shortly after the battle in San Francisco, that is, in 2014 and the series is set in 2015 and already in the last moments of the final chapter in 2017.
Im holding out hope that the characters just don't keep up with Godzilla, cause back then its only Monarch doing the observation and its not become as public as say GXK where Titans are more active than ever
Can you plwase do a similar video about Shinomura? I know they aren't as important as a Titan like Muto Prime but they're one of my favorite Monsterverse original kaiju.
Just to correct the reason why Muto Prime has not been mentioned nor shown in the MV films and tv series is because the events of aftershock was already explained and took months after G-day in 2014 (a year before legacy of monsters) where it was a secret side mission led by emma Russell, While the characters like tim and Verdugo from legacy of monsters were part of a different division that detects, study, and investigate the radiation levels in case of a titan presence or emergence. So clearly they weren't part of that story nor assigned for that mission and it wouldnt make sense for them to mention anything about the events of Aftershock if they weren't there 😂. Just because muto prime hasnt been shown nor mentioned in both series and films doesn't mean that the character is retconned if the studios are not trying to contradict anything that happened in the comic.
Or the more simple explanation: As with all tv shows that try to interact with movies, the script writers don't give a damn about the source material.
@@goldenhate6649 that only depends on who you hire for the series that gives a damn or not, legendary actually acknowledge their source material such as the comics, they only hired writers who didnt read the comics nor paid attention to the MV lore while adding random characters along with details that dont add up but still doesn't contradict the other comics except for awakening. but like I said just because muto prime isn't mentioned by the characters (who were literally not part of the events of aftershock nor part of the same group as emma and serizawa) doesn't mean she's non canon 😂.

I always felt like the comics, especially the Aftershock, were almost disregarded by the movies because there was almost no reference to them. Sometimes, not talking about them makes sense like BoK being in the 90s and Kong only having one movie, but Aftershock had so many crazy events that it never made sense for it not to be recognized entirely in KotM or KvG. I hope it isn't canon, and going forward, Legendary doesn't make this same mistake for their canon.

I’ll be hyped if there’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2. Hopefully they mention or showcase any signs of Muto Prime Emergence even MLOM was already surpassed Godzilla Awakening because Muto Prime is extremely powerful kaiju, human civilization will not forget about her intense havoc that can end humanity. This is also an opinion. There’s still time that Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 will also launch soon so… we’ll gonna find out.
You talk about the dorsal plates and how they evolved from 2014 to the show. Good question that I did not notice, do his plates look preevolved in the flashbacks of Monarch LOM? If they don’t you can write off that. You had one clip I noticed where he was in the water swimming and that was from an episode back with the Drs and Army guy.
I look forward to the post mortem analysis of 'Godzilla: Awakening' now that it's non canon.

Muto Prime is still canon. They just didn't show the battle since that would mean they would need to have a larger budget to show the fight and all the events that happen in the book.

It's so weird people latched onto that VFX interview regarding the plates, like did you expect random animator to go "You see, the plates changed because they broke during a fight that happened in a tie-in comic book released five years ago" when talking to whatever news outlet it was?

What I also didn't notice, is any mention of the monster that godzilla was chasing, which was also destroyed by the castle bravo nuke. The Shinomura. As the nuke was meant to destroy both of them, but only godzilla remained. But in the series, this monster was never mentioned, which confused me a lot.

I feel like godzilla’s dorsals changing at the correct time is enough to canonize aftershock, just like the skull island anime seems to hint that the survivor village that the kracken wipes out is the monarch agents from birth of kong that stayed on the island, seems like the only non canon or soft canon comic is awakening I think it’s called, the one accompanying 2014

We got to remember that the Monsterverse is no stranger for making graphic novel Titans become non-existent canon with the rest of the installments. Godzilla: Awakening is a great example of this with Shinomura, an awesome monster that unfortunately isn't canon anymore and I would even stretch it by calling the creature loose canon as there's no way to implement it into the Monsterverse without causing massive plotholes. So let's hold back our disappointment if it turns out Muto Prime isn't canon anymore, which I hope isn't the case all the same. She's an awesome monster that fits within the lore perfectly and it would be a shame to just throw her out into the trash basket of non canon beasts. Also since Godzilla: Aftershock is set just a few months after the events of G14, it could very well be possible that the characters in M:LoM are bunching up both events as one big time in history. Similar to how we in the real world associate both WW1 and WW2 as the "War Worlds" so it can be easier to identify the events in quick succession. I might be stretching it right there but it's a possibility nonetheless.

This makes me think that the first comic, I forget the name, of the monsterverse is also up for problems or am I missing something? I have always thought of it as parallel with Serizawa's story and the Randa story.

Another way this could fix it is if Godzilla just evolved his spins between 2014 and Monarch and then in season two that’s when it happens, they can kind of switch some things around a little bit and some things wouldn’t make sense but it would still have it in there and it would still be canon

The dorsal plates also look different from the KOTM plates so maybe he was able to grow short term replacements for the plates while it generated the better ones.
Would love to see the mutos return. Maybe even see a prime again, or at least see the fight between prime and Godzilla onscreen rather than just from the comic.

You should talk about how in the Monarch LOM, if you stay in The Hallow Earth for to long, A bunch of years go by, But it only feels like 3 Weeks(or maybe its that one particular area in The Hallow Earth that makes time jump idk, Still weird because GxK is all about being in The Hallow Earth)
I’ll admit, I wouldn’t be too upset at MUTO Prime being taken out of canon. I never really liked the way it looked (seriously, did they show the artist a silhouette of the MUTO’s and said go nuts?) and it always felt out of place.

I think we're overlooking another titan being render non canon by Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, and that's Shinomura. That titan was featured in the prequel comic to the 2014 Godzilla movie, though that was kina non canon because the fact the movie showed nothing of the titan, let alone the whole Lucky Dragon event was rectonned in the show as well.
0:37 don't forget, alternate versions/realities. One muto exists while the other dosen't. Maybe the comic version only. Also, writer's interpretation. One made the comics, while other made the movies/shows, but I doubt they keep tabs on each other. (Least to a certain degree)
