  • In 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game. The Man is a legend.

    • Not entirely true, there were many back in those days who were the typical feminist r'tards writing many complaints and phoning Fox, however Fox was still brand new and the controversy surrounding it was actually getting it more viewers the more they advertised people complaining about it on the news and in publications. You see the complaining from feminists made it even more popular, kinda like how social media finds things offensive so they talk about how much it offends their stupid progressive feefees and normal people go ahead and make that thing extremely profitable, Like Hogwarts Legacy, Joker movie etc. The Streisand effect has always existed.

    • @@dannybauer1386 Thats right.👍And while that idea sounds good, I think it all worked out for the best with Ed and Katey in the roles. The producers were initially surprised with Ed O'Neill's audition. He approached it deadpan, dour, detached. Cycnical and resigned. And compared to the more animated, louder efforts from the other actors that day, Ed stood out, and was perfect. Al Bundy himself was a bit more downtrodden and grumpy inthe early seasons before becoming a nit more upbeat, livlier, as the show really got going and popular. And it was always great!👍 Theres no way MWC would get made today without some form of "Cancel this show!" request being woked at it. At its best, its still one of the best sitcoms ever.

    • @@kylereece1979 that's right ! If I recall, Ed O'Neil had just come from practice (Football? Baseball? ) and was covered in sweat and grime for the audition. Before he spoke as Al, he took a really deep sigh and opened the door to see his family in the scene, and they knew right then he was the perfect fit. Everything worked out perfectly, and I can't see the show working without Ed and Katey, let alone surviving today's standards.

  • Married With Children is the OG Dysfunctional Family Comedy. It ran from 1987- 97, and raised Hell all the way through. It was written and made as a response to the shiny happy family sitcoms popular at the time. Its initial working title was "Not the Cosbys". 😄 The show's creaters wanted an outrageous, anarchic hell raisin' sitcom, and it was one of Fox's leading shows in its beginning days.

It's the first sitcom FOX ever aired (from what I read) beginning in 1987 and running to 1997. I remember watching every week. It still stands as one of my top shows of all time along with "Dallas" and a few others.
