    • The ages of the old people have not been changed on the intro in like seven years. The two "hosts" are up near social security age. lol. Somehow the "kids"(adult children) had their ages updated until they hit their twenties without moving out of their childhood home. The whole thing is like an Anthropology study in critters with opposing fingers. Fort Lauderdale is nice. My old boss moved there because he could not find a place in Miami with a dock deep enough for his ship/boat.

  • I love seeing Keith chilling in the chair hammock. We had one on our boat hung from one of the pilothouse davits. We would swing it out over the water when anchored and swing away, until one day that lovely dowling split down the middle and dumped my suprised husband in the water. It was an Amazon purchase. You might want to put some furniture oil or polyurethane on the dowel to keep the moisture in. If it does split on Keith, I hope that Renee is filming at the time.

  • Sweet! You pull that upside down oil filter off, you’re having 1/2 to 1 cup of oil slicking up the wall, floor, and oozing down all those lines. I’d be mounting that oil filter horizontal. Horizontal you can make a catch out of a milk jug to fit under, with a pin on the wall to hang it.

  • It makes me smile to hear about Kate and Jack getting their diver certifications. I can remember going with buddies when I was in the service while they got their certs. It not only is a matter of honor. There is also a huge measure of security knowing that there are people in your party/group that are on par with firemen and medics like being on land. A lot of concerns are met and covered. They are growing and maturing into strong seafarers and adults. I really like seeing the look of seriousness on their faces when they talk about their certifications, it shows the gravity of being certified and their grasp of it all.

    • From one vet to another...thanks for your time in uniform 🇺🇸 I've been watching the Z crew for a few years. Just went and rewatched their time in the monohull. All four of the "kids" have come a tremendous distance from those youngsters out on their first time onboard "for real." Jack and Finn have been really good about sharing how it is being a teen "stuck" at sea with their family. But they also appreciate what they are experiencing. I seen the maturity in them also. It's pretty rare in people their age. Nice to know it still alive in this crazy world!

    • @@thomasallen6980 From my experience kids that grow up on shore around water with the financial means similar to Jack, Finn and Kate, as well as their older sister aren't near the picture of the fine upstanding contributing members of society that you have drawn. Most are lax in their ethics, both personally and professionally, and the education that they do have is not being utilized and they can only speak one language. Finn and Kate both finished school early, Kate did at 16. Finn is a very well rounded musician, and is exploring writing. Kate has some blossoming artistic talents. Finn could write, play and direct his own music if he really wanted to, but he is choosing to broaden his horizons and experiences in life so that his profession will be of use and impactful in society. He also has a strong urge to clean up, restore and rebuild ecosystems. Kate, not only becoming a beautiful woman is already a very talented artist in many forms of paint media, and is learning other means to express the ideas in her heart, while also being a budding environmentalists she too is pursuing a career in sailing. Jack could already drive a boat very well, he is also becoming a licensed Captain, with a huge slant toward personal safety and rescue. I think that you would be hard pressed to truly find young adults who are as grounded, experienced in managing their funds and lives in this everyday world. Renee and Keith have raised some upstanding young adults who happen to use their forethought very well, and are very much aware of what is going on around the world in more ways than scores of other people are; I am talking about an awareness that encompasses every area of life, food, weather and political conditions. Their years on the waters of tge world hasn't been sailing from one sunny beach to another simply to go squish the sand through their toes. The dealt with corrupt militaries, and unsavory rascals on land who were trying to separate money from persons. They have sailed through seas that most couldn't make it through, navigating around the world more than once, while sailing on their own for almost a month on end. Sunbeams and pretty flowers, yes they saw that too. Gale force winds and 30 foot waves as they sailed around an island that shut them out at the last minute because of COVID, and a hurricane was developing behind them as they sail around Australia to beat it. Their life hasn't been as laid back as you choose to see it. They are far more educated and experienced than you give them credit for. They wouldn't be asked to give seminars if they were the beach bums that you so dully see through eyes clouded by misunderstanding and lack of observation. Yes, I am honored to have watched the whole family grow together and strong. Sail on Zatara!

    • @@sedatedape315 I thank you sir. I had held back for a couple of days. Then I couldn't stomach that mans comment. Yes we all have a right to our opinion. I was taught that if you didn't have anything good to say, be quiet. It is also obvious that this gentleman hasn't watch very many of their videos. I have seen almost 4 years worth in the short year since I subscribed. I must admit that I love the water, in particular the ocean, and sailing got hold of my heart when I was only 8 years of age. The draw of the water is ceaseless. The smell of salt air is powerful.

    • @@bobbolieu9013 yeah. And we served so people like that have the right to be like that. Weird, I know. I picked up on another cruising family that the Zatara crew met while sailing around Australia . Their channel is The Cruising Kiwis. I see the same depth in maturity in the three sons on that catamaran. I have found this usually start with the parenting. And as the "kids" on both boats are growing up they are seeking to what their future might hold. Just we all did, with doubts and silent fears of the unknown. But none are afraid of the future. They know what they are made of. The Z-kids have sailed around the world!

    • Looks like when he cracks it loose, it'll drain right into the housing to me, just have to wait 2-3 mins before removing it completely and it'll be empty. Seems a better design then having oil in the line above overflowing the filter. Oil system is pressurized so it will work exactly the same.

  • Your boat looking like a mess is twice as clean as our boat AFTER we've picked it up! It is difficult to contain the carnage on a boat as you know. Thanks for sharing the repower process!

  • having the filters in near the engines is a good thing because you will be looking in the engine rooms and might notice issues you might have missed.
