It seems like the point is being missed when referring to the weight. It’s not about being heavier and rehydrating, it’s about having to cut the weight and the last few pounds being difficult because it’s not water weight at that point. Now you are starting to get to a point to where you are taking away from yourself which will affect your performance. Tank gave himself the advantage against Ryan but the process was transparent. The difference here is that Ryan knowingly deceived Devins team and did it intentionally to have an advantage. This is fact it’s not crying. By saying it does not mean the outcome would be different, it’s just to say that it wasn’t two fighters fighting at their best in a situation that was controllable. Most fighters admittedly aren’t 100% fight night due to injuries, illnesses etc, but those things are not controllable. The weight part is and Ryan exploited it. Fair play to him but it shouldn’t be hushed just because it sounds like an excuse. It’s real and the fighters that keep saying it is a thing to me holds more weight than a fan who has never competed in a sport that requires cutting.

I was rooting for Ryan but the 3lbs definitely plays a factor to a degree. People don't actually understand what "3 lbs" means in this context. This has nothing to do with the weight on fight night, this "3 lbs" is the weight ryan had to lose on top of already cutting 15-20lbs. When you've cut that amount of weight every lbs after that is hard af, the fact remains that he didn't went through those while Haney did. Still a great win but there's definitely that.

The irony of Haney fans crying about weight and size is absolutely priceless. Haney is the biggest weight bully in boxing and he has forged a career weight bullying the hell out of past prime or shot to bits natural 126 and 130 pounder old men and he was even much heavier than the average sized 135 pounder (Kambosos) and the big 140 pounder he fought too (Regis). He was exposed and lost to tiny 126 pounder Loma who he weighed 20 freaking pounds more than with a six inch reach advantage and a 36 hour weigh in and the first time he fought a prime young puncher closer to his size he got dropped x 3 and would've 100% git KO'd in the ref wasn't in the bag. Now the Haney fans are making excuses about Ryan being bigger than him which is completely untrue. Haney has never fought anyone his size and Ryan weighed 155-160 and Haney at least 165. The reality is, the weight made no difference. Devin definitely had much better hands and caught Ryan a ton, but he firstly had no power, so he couldn't get Ryan out of there. Secondly, he had no chin either, so he couldn't take what was coming at him. This isn't to take away from Ryan's incredible speed and power, but Devin really didn't have a chin.

Keep in mind when Ryan got on the scale, he had his shoes on and he drank that 18 oz bottle of liquid. Keep in mind liquid is heavy and once it's in your stomach you're adding weight on you immediately. It's not like it's going to take 6 hours for the liquid to add weight on you, once you drink that liquid it's in your body and you adding weight to you on the spot. I'm not saying it was the full 3 lb, but the 18 oz of liquid plus his shoes being on is probably one or two pounds right there. So even though he was overweight he wasn't overweight as much as people think he might have been over by a pound or pound and a half
