  • Few cool facts about this song. It was written by Barry Gibb but he decided to have Frankie Valli sing it because he thought people were getting burnt out on his vocals after Saturday Night Fever and Frankie and Barry sing in the same range. Peter Frampton is playing guitar. Frankie Valli didn’t even have a record deal when he sang this. He signed with Warner’s and this song sold 8 million copies.

  • 2:36 In December 1977, Barry Gibb and his brothers, The Bee Gees, exploded to the top of the music scene with the soundtrack to "Saturday Night Fever", 6 months later, Barry Gibb's song, "Grease" tops the charts, again. Gotta be the best back to back years for any recording artist writing songs for movies.

  • This probably makes me sound REALLY old haha, but I actually saw this film at the drive-in with my family as a young child back in the late 70s when it was a new release. This opening song and title sequence is one of the most potent memories I have of that great period in time and it takes me straight back there. I remember playing on the drive in playground before the film started in my pyjamas. We then went to the candy bar for a choc top before settling in to the movie. I also saw Star Wars at the same drive in! Going to the movies was a big deal back then. At the cinema, there was always a short feature and then an interval before the main feature. Everyone clapped and cheered at the end of the film. This clapping stopped around the mid 80s when video stores became prominent.

    • @@GAVACHO5150 The movies were so magical to me when I was a kid in the 80s. So much has changed. Now people in the theaters don't even watch the movies, because they're obsessed with their phones, or they just talk through the film. It's so sad. It will never be the same.

    • @@shannamartinez9494people act like animals in the movie theater nowadays, there was even one guy that was NAKED during the movie! Even when I was young in the early 2000s it was way better, and there was actually good movies to see,not the same woke garbage and ugly stupid crap they’re pumping out now, haven’t been to a movie theater in years.
