FURIOSA : A MAD MAX SAGA | OFFICIAL TRAILER #1
This is her Odyssey. #Furiosa - Only in Theaters 2024
Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth star in Academy Award-winning mastermind George Miller’s “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” the much-anticipated return to the iconic dystopian world he created more than 30 years ago with the seminal “Mad Max” films. Miller now turns the page again with an all-new original, standalone action adventure that will reveal the origins of the powerhouse character from the multiple Oscar-winning global smash “Mad Max: Fury Road.” The new feature from Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures is produced by Miller and his longtime partner, Oscar-nominated producer Doug Mitchell (“Mad Max: Fury Road,” “Babe”), under their Australian-based Kennedy Miller Mitchell banner.
As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.
Taylor-Joy stars in the title role, and along with Hemsworth, the film also stars Alyla Browne and Tom Burke.
Miller penned the script with “Mad Max: Fury Road” co-writer Nico Lathouris. Miller’s behind-the-scenes creative team includes first assistant director PJ Voeten and second unit director and stunt coordinator Guy Norris, director of photography Simon Duggan (“Hacksaw Ridge,” “The Great Gatsby”), composer Tom Holkenborg, sound designer Robert Mackenzie, editor Eliot Knapman, visual effects supervisor Andrew Jackson and colorist Eric Whipp. The team also includes other longtime collaborators: production designer Colin Gibson, editor Margaret Sixel, sound mixer Ben Osmo, costume designer Jenny Beavan and makeup designer Lesley Vanderwalt, each of whom won an Oscar for their work on “Mad Max: Fury Road.”
Warner Bros. Pictures Presents, in Association with Village Roadshow Pictures, A Kennedy Miller Mitchell Production, A George Miller Film, “Furiosa.” The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, in theaters only nationwide on May 24, 2024 and internationally beginning on May 22, 2024.
I don't know what's more crazy, the fact that we are getting another one of these movies, or the fact that it has been 8 years since Fury Road... What a day! WHAT A LOVELY DAY!!
You know what's more crazy? A late 70 year old man directed this big budget loud action movie, you don't see that much these days
Fury Road came out in 2015.
Actually it’s been 8 years.
It hasn't been 10 years
Jesus...I the back of my mind i would say 2019 was its release...time flies
I like George Miller because the camera is always steady and the action is always centered. I don't know why so many action directors refuse to do those two simple things.
Ever since the bourne sequels directors have a hard on for fast cuts and shaking the camera, it really blows
Insert Liam neeson climbing a fence with 42 cuts in between
More expensive and harder to do
Bourne convinced people it was realistic and boots-on-the-ground.
@@morty4815162342 It saves them money because if you can't see what's going on, they don't have to invest in as many extras or as detailed of a set design or location. Similar to why so many high-budget action movies end with the climax taking place at nighttime, because CGI is cheaper to do in the dark.
Saw the trailer in IMAX before Dune 2. This looks really, really cool!
That’s George miller for ya
Same. I’ll be aiming to see this in IMAX too when it comes out.
Same here! I was jumping out of my seat before Dune even started lol
Thats so funny cos Anya Taylor Joy is also in Dune 2 and will be in Dune 3, so for a split second there I thought this was the Dune 3 trailer when it popped up😂😂
The IMAX trailer hit so hard
That final shot of Furiosa might be one of my favorite shots I’ve seen all year

I hope it's not mediocre.

I cry everytime of the happiness knowing another Mad Max movie is on the way. Mad Max Fury Road and the Road Warrior are movies i’ve rewatched countless times
It's not another Mad Max movie...it's a Furiosa movie. This is Hollywood woke garbage.
Now THAT'S how you do a cinematic trailer for the 21st century!
One of the things I love about this franchise is the language of the post-apocalypse. Running with the theme of the survivors of the apocalypse all having lost their minds, the meanings of words seem to have been forgotten or mixed up. There are a lot of instances of this throughout all of the films, such as “lady and gentlemens” “I should be in Valhalla, McFeasting with heroes” “The ayatollah of rock and roll-ah” and “It was your Manifest Destiny to not perish”. It adds so much character to the world. The Mad Max wasteland is a place where all of the norms and vernacular of our society have been abandoned, hence why people act and talk in the bizarre way they do. It gives rewatches of the films extra value just to try and spot all the weird apocalyptic slang.
this is such a good point, and I love how postmodern the language is, it is exactly what would happen when you really think about it
Ayatollah of rock n Rolla is one and only Chris Jericho
Also how they start to worship things that are to normal to us like V8 engines or how they worship airplanes in mad max beyond thunderdome
I assumed he was just addressing Furiosa and a bunch of dudes.
I liked when they called water ‘aquacola’ in fury road. You are so right..
George Miller is in his late 70s and still pumping to make a huge big budget action movie like this is absolutely crazy and amazing. This man deserves his "legend" status
I'm surprised that he hasn't retired yet
And the car designs look sick as well.

All those dark clouds in the sky. That only happens when they're about to rain, but it certainly sets a mood.
Anya Taylor Joy is absolutely beautiful, her eyes have so much character. A lot of shots in the trailer highlight her eyes, I think that's going to be a focus of her character.

Mad Max Fury was the greatest theatre experience i had...pure goosebumps, entire movie
Both the war rig and the movie were mechanically locked in full throttle for almost the full duration of the film.. Just when i thought it couldnt get any better or more intense people started orally spraying fuel into the superchargers like fighter planes used to do in ww2 for extra power when you allready have an engine pinned wide open.
Same!! The most epic movie experience I have ever had
Yes but this looks like pure CGI garbage. Practical effects in the previous movie were amazing. This looks like completely weightless shiny CGI. At least it isn’t muddy or blurry like marvel movies.
That was my first impression from this trailer, also. I hope the final edit is not too over-the-top with after effects and loses the essence of grittiness and ability to captivate you into the action that Fury had.@@1337billybob

Also never thought I’d see l Anya Taylor Joy in an action role given how petite she is

How many times have you watched the new Furiosa trailers? Me: Yes
Zero, I read all I have to to know I'm not interested in watching another "replacing the male character" movie. Female protagonist used to be my favourite movie genre, now it's the worst.
I just noticed hemsworth says “Lady and Gentleman’s” aka Furiosa and everyone else.,that’s badass
I don't think it's a reference to Furiosa, who is in the cage behind him. It looks like there is a slightly older female motorcycle racer - the same woman holding young Furiosa and fleeing towards Gastown in the shot at 1:40. I assume she inspires Furiosa to revolt.
"Do you have it in you to make it epic" is such a great line for a Mad Max world.

I love that they stuck to that very vibrant, stark and harsh colour palette. It makes the whole post-apocalyptic thing so visceral. It’s going to be another visually stunning 2024 release. I’m so excited!
Yes. That was the very first thing I noticed. Makes it look exactly like Fury Road even though it's being made 8 years after Fury Road.

agreed, might be just me but this looked like it had a lot of cgi
@@JR-qx6xiThere did seem to be quite a bit of CGI. Which is totally fine if the actual action remains mostly in camera. If I have faith in anyone it's George Miller.
@@saxdave1It's likely more reliant on CGI because of the terrible experiences Miller had filming Fury Road that made him want to never make another Mad Max film. Also they can't use the same on-location area as Fury Road because the local government sued them for destroying important nature areas they had promised to leave as they found them. Also the whole thing that happened with a stunt performer in Fury Road might make them a bit more iffy about some of the bigger stunts. (or they just used a lot of the CGI heavy stuff in the trailer)

Missed it in theaters and sat on it awhile before watching it one night. Between the cinematography and soundtrack, it has become one of my favorite movies. Quote gets me in the feels every time I read it.
The summer I walked into the cinema and watched Fury Road "on spec" was almost like a concert. People screaming, waving their arms around, the action really got hold of the crowd, I've rarely seen an audience that was so sympathetic to a movie. Think I went to see it 4 or 5 more times afterwards, which I also rarely do.
Kgf first draft
Seems a bit more CGI heavy than the first which used a lot of practical effects but hopefully it's just used to augment the use of practical effects on open world sets. I mean George Miller has to know what helped Mad Max be so successful in the eyes of fans was the use of practical effects so hopefully he didn't abandon them entirely. Also, ATJ being in this is a huge selling point. Yeah, her big eyes are uniquely spaced so she's very noticeable in any scene she's in BUT she is also a very talented actress. I've only seen her in a few movies like The Witch or The Northman but she's legit good. She's the new Noomi Rapace or something.
Let's hope the CGI here is only a temporary thing before the actual shooting takes place? The practical effects are what made the universe amazing. CGI will make it feel like a cheap video game.
@@mikecronisThe movie is finished. It’s in post production now. The CGI here aligns with what Miller did with Three Thousand Years of Longing.

One of the things that made Fury Road so good was the practical effects. It added to the suspended reality with the sense of realism. I see A LOT of cgi in this trailer. I really hope that this movie is awesome because i have loved the world of Mad Max since i was a child watching The Road Warrior. The cgi kind of kills it for me though.
Tornado and sandstorm were cgi as were many explosions in Fury Road
@@whichDude BIG difference in the CGI used in Fury Road and the amount of CGI used in this trailer. This looked like a George Lucas trailer. Nearly all shots done on a soundstage with green screen behind them.
@@TierDvik You're comparing the movie to a trailer. Fury Road trailer was very heavy on Cgi. Compare trailers to keep it fair. This new one does like the green screen over filled backgrounds though...
@@whichDude Just incase my memory was failing me. Looked it up again just now. It does highlight the CGI, but nowhere NEAR as bad as the Furiosa trailer does. Other then a few stunt shots none of the vehicles were CGI... yet in this one a butt ton of them are.
Totally agree. Like what happened with the Hobbit trilogy. Also way too much lamestream zeitgeist here
I don't know about all that cgi. Part of what makes Mad Max, and especially Fury Road so great was the emphasis on practical effects. George Miller poured his heart into Fury Road, and I would hate for him to give up and just rely on cgi, like Peter Jackson did on the Hobbit movies... would be a shame. Still excited for the movie. The story and setting are perfect and I am really hoping that the poor visuals are just because they had to make a trailer real quick and the final release will be much better.
practical effects were used mostly on the cars, Fury Road had heaps of CGI, like the Citadel, the flaming sandstorm and other set pieces. think about it, Fury Road was also 90% a chase scene, most of the film takes place on the war-rig between a blue sky and a barren orange landscape, Furiosa seems to take place in various locations like Gas Town and Bullet Farm so I think cgi is realistically more appropriate for this film plus they still have a year to enhance the cgi so I'm not too worried about it personally
Where in here is the cgi most prevalent? I don’t see it as much.
George Miller went full Marvel Never go full Marvel
One thing to consider is that trailers usually don't have the final cgi in it. Trailers need to release early enough and they usually aren't finished with all cgi so they use temporary cgi. Lets hope so anyway!
I hope the same, this CGI looks awful and cartoonish. Even if Fury Road implemented CGI, it was so well worked that look amazing and realistic.
We needs this types of movies more
So, where's 'Mad Max'?

It's a spinoff about Furiosa. It's before she met Mad Max.
He was never the protagonist. The first movie was just named after him.
I hope this movie does well enough at the box office for another Mad Max sequel to be made (and please bring back Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron)
I don’t think Theron would ever work with him again. Apparently he was a complete prick during the shoot.
Charlize Theron definitely did not like working with Tom Hardy so that's more than likely going to be a no to them working together again.
And Mel Gibson
Heard it was the opposite
She was actually the problem. The director doesn't want to work with her again. Tom hardy might come back. This is basically her replacement and the reason that this movie took so long was because of wb. Wb owed George Miller more money and did not pay so he basically had to fight with wb to get paid fairly. George said he wasn't in no hurry to make another one for wb after the way he was treated.
A little bummed to see a much heavier use of CGI, but apart from that it looks badass! Can’t wait to see it
Just literally said the same!!! Part of the awesomeness of Fury Road was the lack of CGI
It’s always the pvssies complaining about cgi all the time 🤣🤡🫵🤦🏽♂️
Honestly, apart from one shot, I couldn't see anything else that was CGI. Maybe that's also because I was focused on the vehicles the whole time
@@yanhenghuang1017Some people here are convinced the vehicles are all CGI, but none of them are. They look at real things and think it's CGI. Crazy!
I had to go back and look at the fury road trailer because I was confused why this looked so much worse with the cgi
One day I wish we could get a remake that does the actual Road Warrior justice...
The music in the 2nd half of this trailer has me so hyped
"WHAT A DAY , WHAT A LOVELY DAY " finally the year is here where i can feel the madness of madmax saga again
Oh, I hope it’s good. Fury Road was so shockingly outstanding. An absolutely perfect film. I really hope this can match it.
CGI in this one is pretty bad tho
@@ariellira5881im glad i wasnt the only one thinking that
Never doubt George Miller 🔥🔥🔥

Was this shot on film ?
I remember watching fury road in the theatres and being absolutely blown away by it. I will watch this just for hopes that will happen again!
Oof, wouldn't set my hopes to high
@@plinpain too late!
I'm so ready for this. It's a brilliantly made piece and can't wait for furiosa
It would be awfully hard to top fury road.
Nope, it won't.
I hope it's just as good. Fury Road had a great blend of not knowing what was CGI and what was practical effects. I hope this does the same.
Most of it was practical. The flames and the dust storm were the biggest CGI.
I'm really not sure how well it'll play out for this one. During this trailer, there were way more noticeable spots where it shouted "CGI". More than I remember noticing during the entirety of Fury Road. I hope its just the trailer for whatever reason.
@@faded1to3blackYeah, I get that. I'm hoping that it's because the VFX in trailers tend not to be the finished product. Also, Fury Road has a ton of CGI but it's barely noticeable, so I'm hoping the final product of Furiosa will be comparable.
CGI looks terrible in this trailer. I'm honestly shocked rn
@@Wilfrid.Robarts reminds me of Spy Kids 3
Anya Taylor Swift and Chris Hemsworth are going to be KILLING IT 🔥👊❤️
Pure entertainment. So stoked for this
I missed Fury Road in theaters and i'm still crying to this day. Movie doesnt tell me much but i wont make same mistake twice.
Missed it?. It's 3.99 a way. Social media specialist...
@@gozimusable1 wtf? I missed it IN THEATERS. Can you read?
Someday, maybe soon… they’ll release it. I’d love to see a black and white showing in imax
It was one of the coolest movies I’ve seen in theaters. Godzilla minus one was a recent.
I saw it in A theater in maine thatbserves food and all of the chairs were bench seats or bucket seats from collectable cars.. unforgettable experience.. i was actually yelling in the theater at certain points.. never had a theater experience get my motor running like that before.
my biggest complaint is there looks to be a lotttt of cgi in this unlike fury road where everything was almost real so it felt so real, just hope that it can live up to the hype buildup and the status set by fury road
Same, I loved Fury Road and have high hopes/expectations for Furiosa but I'm already anxious from watching this trailer. A lot of obvious fakery standing out rubs me the wrong way but who knows this is only a teaser after all, here's hoping the final product is polished to perfection!
Get what you're saying. There seems to be a lot more bad CGI and lighting mismatches in this one. Quite surprised. FYI though, Fury Road had a crazy amount of CGI -- a heck of a lot more than ppl realize. It was just good and compositied well
Man I literally just commented the same thing.
As long as the car's, props and explosions are real. It's doing better than most Hollywood movies.
lotttt of very bad cgi it's sad
I love these mad Max movies!
I am super happy that a new movie is coming out. I am super disappointed it is not a mad max
The director is 78 years old, still unbeatable in action movies since MadMax fury road. Amazing, classical and wonderfull man.
I wish there will be someone after Miller, who will inherit his style and inspiration for the next movies , because the universe of Mad Max is truly a treasure 🔥

Unbeatable in action since Road Warriors
So we are getting 2 epic sand movies this year 💪😎
I've been waiting for another Mad Max movie since Fury Road from 2015. Fury Road is one of my top favourite movies of all time and I recommend it to everyone I get the chance to talk to about movies.
I just want to take a moment and thank the people that made this trailer for not taking an old song, adding ridiculous and obnoxious amounts of base drum hits and calling it a day. (Yes, this trailer has a lot of bass drums, but it, ya know, actually fits for what happens in the movie... What a concept!) Thank you. Also, a trailer in 4k?! I never thought I'd see the day. Killing it.
Isso soou como poesia aos meus olhos 😊
George knows what he’s doing.
I've actually refused to watch movies because of this in their trailers.
Gotta appreciate that there wasn't a random piano note ringing out either
Oh boy do I have news for you about the second trailer.
Excited for this, but a part of me sad that we're not getting more Mad Max, wanted to see Tom Hardy play the role once more
I hope furiosa isnt just annoying
There was a set leak about year or so ago and you can see his interceptor in it, not sure if Tom Hardy is coming back for a cameo though
It would've been amazing to see young mad max huh?
теперь том Веном
Watch mad Max, that is the young mad Max @@joserojas1532
Loved that soundtrack. Quintuple meter just like in Holst's Mars Bringer of War and Bane's Chant. Overlaid with angry, blaring dissonant rhythm cascades of a choir of battle trumpets like machine gun fire.
This movie looks very similar in some scenes with mad max game from 2015 🔥🔥
Thor riding a motorcycle themed chariot to Valhalla is the most metal moment this year
They also made him look like a joke In cabin in the woods😂
Fury Road was so well shot and executed it still blows my mind. Looking forward to this one.
I am so excited to see this movie but at the same time, I am not looking forward to seeing her lose her arm...
That was one thing about fury road they never actually showed Gas town or the Bullet farm, they talked about them and you could see them off in the distance in a few shots. Looks like we will get to ssee both in this new movie. Also Loved immortan Joe and the citadel i remember thinking how badass that whole faction was, so glad theyre back for the prequel
Hemsworth riding a chariot attached to two Harleys is epic
Look up motorcycle chariot racing
Pretty cool. They had to out do Immortan’s triple Caddy
@@DieselDog1982they’d never fit the aesthetic
@DieselDog1982 It was 3 and BMW, not Harley.
Wait, if it's 45 years after the collapse, is it still supposed to be Mad Max in Fury road? He would be like 80.
