  • Id like to see this done in a way where the chickens can scratch at the ground. That's what they like to do and it would save money on feed. Instead of a skinny concrete walkway, increase the width and use a thick woodchip base. Not only can the chickens scratch around, but the woodchips will keep the smell down. As the woodchips breakdown, they would feed the surrounding soil which could be used as a garden bed. As the plants grow, they'll provide shade from the hot sun. I think I'm going to rework my chicken run after seeing this. Great idea.

  • Very nice. Happy wife, happey chickens and happy husband. One suggestion would be to give the chicken access to an area where they have access to a dirt patch where they can climb small branches and take a dirt bath. Chickens love to take dirt bath.

    • @@no1ideas The gospel (good news) for lost souls, how can you get saved?: Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven, there is no other way! You only have to believe in what Jesus Christ did for you on the cross at Calvary, He died for the sins of the whole world and that's including you, so why not live for Him? Because He lives, I can face tomorrow! It's all about Jesus Christ's precious blood - Romans 3:25 - Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Believe and trust from your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins and resurrected to save you and is coming back very soon, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. 1 Corinthians 15.1-4 saves lost souls when you truly believe from your heart. Jesus Christ paid the death penalty in our stead and nailed it to the cross. Trust in Jesus Christ to save you from hell, Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Ephesians 1:13, saved and sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Heaven and Hell are real, literal places, there is nothing in-between. Choose your eternal destination wisely for your soul. Time is running out, tomorrow is not promised.

I also think you should add another dish of water and food inside the house if u prefer them to be inside the house at night so that they will not starve.

  • It would probably be okay for one or two chickens, but right now there's too many, so it's too crowded. If you remove the gaps from the ramp and adapt the feeding and watering system a bit, this design would actually work extremely well for quails, as those birds are smaller and need much less space. Furthermore, quails are actually more prolific than chickens.

Also To me the walk is quite small for that many chicken. I don’t know if you put the eggs outside for the purpose of the video or your chicks do pond outside. If it’s the case it’s not good, it means they don’t have a nest. I dont see any upper level structure in the house, chicks love sleeping on a higher level and need a sort of a box with straw for the nest

  • You forgot that chickens like to sit on the earth and love nature too. your coop should include more space and PLANTS for the chicken and some loose earth where they can scratch for worms, play and relax in the sun or in the shade. Happy chicken lay happy eggs.... other than that I think its an awesome idea.

  • It's a really clean method of gathering compost. Though you might need to increase that pit size just so you can shift over the composting piles of chicken poop. Since it will take around 2 months to compost down, you'll want the space to shift around the piles to keep the new stuff from mixing too much with the old.

Not only can the chickens scratch around, but the woodchips will keep the smell down. As the woodchips breakdown, they would feed the surrounding soil which could be used as a garden bed. As the plants grow, they'll provide shade from the hot sun. I think I'm going to rew
