Top 10 Things to do in Seattle | Seattle Travel Guide
This video is the ultimate travel guide covering the best things to do, see and eat in Seattle Washington. We will cover Seattle's best attractions and must-see top landmarks, hidden gems, and tourist places, so you can make sure you maximize your trip to Seattle Washington. This will include tips, tricks, and inside scoops into some of Seattle's most iconic places.
Might I also suggest a ferry to Bainbridge Island. It's a 35 minute trip (you pay one fare, the return is included) with magnificent views of Seattle and the skyline. Also on the island is the Bloedel Estate. It's a lovely park-like setting with amazing flowers and trees. The walk around the gardens is about two hours of peace, quiet and beautiful flowers, shrubs and a moss garden. Lovely, and very much worth a visit.
Great suggestion, thank you! How does one get to the Bloedel Reserve without a car? Is public transport reliable? Thanks
I went on my first solo trip to Seattle a few weeks ago and it was one of the best experiences despite being so anxious!! Traveling solo is definitely intimidating but its so liberating.
CONGRATS on the Solo Travel! Thats so empowering and sounds like it was a great trip! It's always a little nerve wracking pushing yourself outside your comfort zone (and travel is great for that) and the results are usually positive. So glad you had a great trip! Where else are you looking to travel to next?
I have mine in June! Super nervous but excited! Any tips would be super appreciated
PROPS TO YOU! What is your next solo destination!?
Mine is in September! Starting in Seattle and going down south to Portland, the Oregon Coast and San Francisco! I‘m super excited
I can understand if you are in Rio, Mexico, or South Africa but not Seattle.
Planning a trip in September and so glad I found your channel. I have my check list ready on what to see. Thank you!!
Love this video! You have maintained your personalities while making it informational
Ballard's locks and the Salmon swimming upstream under the locks
Enjoy your clips, thanks. We will be there in August and this clips and how to get around the city are wonderful.
Thanks guide for us to see beautiful places
Great video! I plan to go on a cruise this July. So, watching this video helped me decide where to go the day before I go on the cruise.
This was super informative and helpful for our upcoming trip to Seattle! Thank you!!
Thanks Amy! We hope you had a great trip! Were there any highlights from the trip!?
You really should have tried the ferry to Bainbridge Island instead of the water taxi to West Seattle. The little town of Winslow has a lot to offer.
Thanks so much for the suggestion! I guess that's a great reason to go back! 😊
By far my favorite video on things 2 do in Seattle. We're going 2 Alaska in June/July n will definitely check off most of ur list.
Awesome video guys and you two are so infectous, made me so much more excited for planning my trip there next year as wasnt sure weather to go Seattle as well or just do San Fran. This is the best video ive found on Seattle so far and has convinced me I MUST visit, good work guys!
Great informative sharing, such wonderful place for visiting and definitely put in our basket list😍👍👍🤗
Glad you liked it! Seattle really is a great city with so much to see and do! 😊
This is so helpful I be visiting Seattle in October and can't wait to explore some of these places thank u so much 💗
We hope it's a great trip Sean! Anything in particular you're most excited to do/see? 😊
Thanks for making this video! Now I have some ideas when I plan on visiting
So glad you found it useful! Hope it's a great trip!
The Seattle Aquarium on the downtown waterfront is a good place to visit. Learn about the native marine life in the Puget Sound. 🐙
Great suggestion! 🐠
Really appreciate this, you’re super informative! I’m going to Seattle all alone next week and I’m barely researching so this video is really helpful 👍👍👍
We're so glad you found it useful! Solo travel is always exciting, and we hope you have a great trip in the city!
Have fun. I go solo next week coming from the East Coast.
Same here. I was originally supposed to be going in September but my trip plans got pushed back to the very first weekend of October. Hope the weather remains fairly well this upcoming weekend. Hope you all had lots of fun in your visit
Thanks for sharing! I am waiting to visit Seattle soon
Woo hoo! That's exciting! We hope its a great time, Seattle is a great city!
This is an awesome guide specially to those who are new in Seattle. Kudos! 👍
I am planning on visiting Seattle for the first time in May of next year and the two of you have made me so excited for it. You both are just adorable and thank you for an amazing video!
You won't regret it. Wife and I just took a trip here for New years. It was amazing and beautiful. Food was out of this world
I wish I had seen your video before I went to Seattle! I can’t believe I missed that fabulous REI store and gorgeous Amazon campus. Some of the spots you show are terrific for families with tweens and teens who appreciate great photo spots and unusual places. You pack a lot in which helps us do the same.
So glad you found it useful! It's such a fun city with lots to do!
Thanks so much !!! Great video which really makes me want to visit Seattle !! :)
We hope you can make it to Seattle at some point. It's a one-of-a-kind city! 😊
Thanks for the great video! I can’t wait to check out some of the spots when I visit Seattle in a couple weeks. Any advice or deals for dining at the Space Needle’s revolving restaurant?
I loved this video and all the tips! Thanks for sharing! 😊
Thanks Andre! We're so glad you found it helpful! Do you have a trip to Seattle in your future? 🙂
@@SharingtheRoad It's not set in stone yet, but I will try to take a week off in October! Fingers crossed! 🤓🤞🏻
@@andrepereira9531 Well we hope you're able to make it happen and have a great trip! Have fun! 😊
@@SharingtheRoad Thank you! 🤓👍🏻
great information! Im flying there tomorrow for the first time!
It looks amazing hope you enjoyed your time there.
Looks like you guys had a great time in Seattle! We’ve been to the market and Starbucks but those Spheres were not there while we were there-they look awesome!! We may just have to go back 😃
Always fun finding a reason to go back! Glad you liked it! 😊
Great video Sharing the road. - Seattle looks an amazing city.
It really is! Thanks!
Yes - it does look a great place to explore. @@SharingtheRoad
I loved the way this video showcased the diversity of Seattle's attractions. There's something for everyone, from history buffs to nature lovers to foodies. I'm definitely going to come back for a longer visit to experience it all. What's the best time of year to visit Seattle if you want to avoid the crowds?
Thank you for sharing. I will visit next year all of these places. Unfortunately, no time to hit the road
Thanks Weng! We hope next year you're able to see all you want to see! Do you have any travels planned on the horizon?
Good, information, thank u both 😊🙏🙏👏
Thanks! Hope you have a great trip!
Thanks for the video, I subscribed.
So glad you found it useful! Thanks so much!
Wish I saw this before trip! The REI store looks dope.
On your next visit go to volunteer park on Capitol Hill...the conservatory and art museum are gorgeous...also the U district and Suzallo library on campus as well as the arboretum ❤😊 also the Chittenden locks ❤
What a beautiful city!
It really is! 😊
Yeah, until you get to know the people.
@@musicfirst5020 when I grew up there in the 50s that was the best thing about Seattle. The people! Would like to go back and see how much the people are the same or not. In general I found the people in Seattle to be much nicer than on the East Coast.
Thank you for your tips. My sister, cousin and I will be there on Labor Day and your tip regarding the Amazon Spheres 2 Saturdays Only days is the first a i’ve heard from almost a dozen youtubers that I have seen. Thanks and I have my calendar marked in August to try and get reservations. Going to check out your other video regarding public transportation and we will be getting our senior ride passes online.
Hello, guys!!I just.....LOVE the US! Iwas in NYC during my honeymoon and I can't wait the time to come back and visit more and more! And I was always fascinated by Seattle! One of the citues in my bucket list for sure!! THANKS for this amazing and so interesting and well made video! Your tips are so useful! So many things to do and see in this stunning and charming city. Wow...a taxi water ride would be great to do!! I agree with Michael...I don't like gums, but I think it's a place to see in any case!! HUGS and have a wonderful week, my friends. Enjoyed from the start to finish!! Like and hugs!! Renata
Ooooh So glad that you had a fun honeymoon! NYC is a great city too! Glad you liked it! 😊
@@SharingtheRoad TOTALLY, guys!! Happy week and see you soon! Renata
@renatalimarzi. Sorry, Seattle is actually boring. NYC is the best city and so many things to do and see not Seattle 😂🤣.
The best presentation!
Thanks!
Such a great list! The Fish market happened to be closed when we visited last September, so we didn’t get to see the throwing of the fish . 😞 We did see most of (and eat some of) the things in this video, though, and you’re really giving us the flashback vibes! How cool is that Starbucks Roastery, though?
I know right! It's so cool Glad you guys had a nice trip as well!
I need to try the clam chowder!!
Well that was a fun vid! If it's springtime when you go to Seattle, put the Rhododendron Glen at the Washington Park Arboretum on your list.
Thanks Mick! We are glad you enjoyed it and we appreciate the extra tips! I guess we have a reason to go back now! 😃
Wow, I have to check out the Fremont Troll. I agree with Michael about the gum wall. I want nothing to do with that! Thanks for the great video.
Glad you liked it! Thanks! 😊
Just left Seattle. Glad I didn’t miss much. Gasworks Park + Arboretum + China Town was plenty good.
Glad you had a great trip! It's a neat city with lots to do!
great vdo , and look nice place there , nice uploaded today
Thanks!
Very good job ❤❤❤
Try " Hello Em" cafe. They have Egg coffee on the menu pretty good imo.
The man reminds me of one of the news casters of: komo, king5 and kiro station on tv. In Silverdale wa we have REI store is two right is Home depot and left across the street is the Kitsap mall.
Le Panier! My daughter-in-law is a pastry chef there! The best croissants!
you should visit edmonds beach and take the ferry to kingston its a pretty little town or visit mukilteo beach and get some ivar's
Snoqualmie Falls is a nice attraction in Seattle area.
I’m excited to see this cool azz city!!
😎
Nice you hit the main spots 😎
Great to hear! Thanks!
The water near Seattle are Puget Sound, and Lake Washington. You have a drive to reach the Ocean.
Great video I like it very much it's great 🔔👈👍🌺🌹
I used to live in Seattle but moved when the company I worked for closed their Seattle property. The place that is referred to as the original Starbucks isn’t the original. The original Starbucks was located on Western Ave. This location closed after a fire and the second location opened and is now being called the original Starbucks. I used to buy my roasted coffee beans at the real original store.
Wow,I had no idea about the Starbucks 😮
Went to UW Seattle when that was the starbucks...when they only had beans for sale and a different emblem ❤❤ before the 2nd store in university village...yeah , it was the 70s ❤😂😂
Once you’ve hit the tourist highlights of Seattle, I *highly* recommend you rent a car and day trip out to Paradise Visitor Center on Mt Rainier. Also either car day trip or foot passenger ferry to Bainbridge island. Gorgeous views of the harbor, basically a cheap harbor tour. Also a whale watching excursion! 🐋
Ooooh that sounds super fun! We'd love to try that someday! 😊
some great tips
I’ve been to Seattle a couple times back before it started falling apart. I would recommend you not going during riot session.
Video is very helpful. Can you tell me what month you traveled there? Loved the weather while you were there
Beautiful charing 💖👍 like
Last 3 xs I was at pikes place it was dead. Hardly any shops open and barely any people
😂😂 the high school scenes from 10 things I hate about you are of Stadium high school in Tacoma, WA...my dad went to high school there, graduating in 1940❤😊
Omg THE EMERALD CITY!
A couple corrections - Fremont only has one E; the view is Puget sound, not the ocean, the “original” Starbucks was actually a block north and they transferred the business license to the spot where they currently have the lines out the door. The only special thing about that location is that they sell items with the original logo
can you peovide the "original" location of the starbuks? it be nice to check out if there is still something to see.
@@gnrbryce9560 it’s just a block or so away at 2000 Western Ave. there is now a small park with a totem pole at the location
It's right next door to the Pike Market, accross a brick street from it about half a block from Pike
i think gas works park should be demolished and put something modern and fresh. those old refinery structures is so gloomy and dark....makes you feel like your in a junkyard. the viewpoint is great though.
Coming here on December
Ooooh we hope it's a great trip when you go! Is there anything in particular you're most excited about to make your trip the most memorable?
ProTip: There is no rotating restaurant in the Space Needle. It was renovated out of existence.
If you want an 11th thing to do there is an incredible Museum of Flight. You could easily spend half a day there.
Thanks for the tip! Next time we're in town thats a for sure spot we'll need to check out. I spent nearly a full day in the Dayton air museum, and love aviation history! -Michael
Go down to 3rd and Pike and watch all the duggies
I plan on visiting Seattle the end of August. Any recommendations on which part of town to choose a hotel?
Hi Faye! Sorry, it's been a manic month or so, and we're just catching up on comments. Was it a good trip?! We hope you were able to find somewhere great to stay! 😊
@@SharingtheRoad We stayed in the Queen Ann neighborhood. The highlights of my trip were the Space Needle, Museum of Pop culture, water front, Pike Market, T Mobile Field, aquarium and soaking up the Seattle vibe.
Mike is so right about the gum wall. No matter how iconic it might be, it's nothing but disgusting. The city should get rid of it and severely fine everybody who tries to stick another gum on any of the walls.
Exactly hahaha! 🤢 It really is gross 😂
The city has cleaned up the gum wall twice, only to have everyone place gum on it all over again.
I walk by it every week and make my rounds. Havent purchased a pack of gum in years!
@@SVgeoD Obviously there is no fine for that. 100 bucks per gum, and the city could perhaps solve its homeless crisis with the revenue😉.
lol is that what we’re really worried about. Not the hundreds of homeless people pissing and shitting in the streets?
What times do they throw the fish at the Pike Market? I saw online at 6:30am, are there other times?
Hi Priscilla! They throw fish pretty often and constantly throughout the day. Pretty much anytime someone makes a purchase or when they are re-stocking fish they're launching them from point A to point B! Are you heading to Seattle anytime soon? It's such a great city!
If you have the money and can go the Seahawks games are always a lot crazier than any other game I’ve been too
Beecher,s in pike place
Being from Seattle I suggest going there on Sunday morning when all the dirty junkies are sleeping..... Definitely the best time to go to pike place market.
Don't miss the fecal tour. You can go around and defecate on the sidewalk at many of Seattle's icon spots just like our outdoor residents. Yep, you can be just like a Seattle homie with no blue tarp required!!!
Hello my friend
As a European, I can assure you, Seattle has very little to offer: gum wall, fish market and old gas works? Are you kidding me?
What’s the best way to travel from the Airport to downtown ? Is there a train or is Uber our best route?
Thanks! There a really nice train that takes you direct from the airport to the main downtown area! We have a whole Seattle Public Transportation Guide Video that walks through all the key details for public transportation. Taking the train is enjoyable and we found it to be MUCH cheaper than an Uber! Hope you have a great trip!
lot of things to do as long as u don't live in a tent mayb u can find a space with a view we have a ton of view just cut a window into ur tent
Great Overview! I don't care for gum either!
Thanks Jim! 😊

DENVERRRRRRR ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ya'll forgot about the seattle seahawks
Hi. How many days is good to explore Seattle with family?
Hi! It really depends on what kind of travelers you are, and what activities you want to do! You could probably see most the things in this video in 3-4 days, but you could also stay longer and see much more as well. We hope you have a great trip! 😊
Are people still wearing masks? Not judging. Just curious because we're going in September
So do they require you to wear masks in Seattle?
I'd go just to walk around that REI store. That place looked super cool. I'm not sure what I think about that Amazon go store. i think I'd feel like I'd be stealing. I guess its all legit. Great video!
Thanks so much!
Minimum how many days required to visit Seattle and Mt.rainer ?
I recommend at least a week in Seattle. Mt. Rainier is easily a few days but is doable in a single day if you only want to visit Paradise. The best time to visit Mt. Rainier is July through August when flowers are in full bloom.
Thank you very much for your kind Information-Impression 🙏 We are going to fly to your Country 🇺🇸 from EuroAirport Basel-Muhlouse-Freiburg over Frankfurt am Main to Seattle on Lufthansa, the US Flights Cooperating United Airlines, our first Trip Stop is gorgeous Seattle,I studied from 2001 until 2003 in PDX Oregon, when I visited several times Seattle,we are going to visit a friend of mine of my PDX USA study Time,in Seattle, stay there unfortunatly "only😢" three whole days, cause we are going to visit a dearest friend of us who is seriously ill,he lives in Nothern California, near to Yosemitie Natl.Park,it might be the last time,we stay there by him 12 days, and then End of our Journey, we are going to visit a friend of my husbund in Brooklyn,so NYC,my first time, only during my PDX Time,I changed had to fly over Newark, Immigration and connecting flight to PDX. So very excité as well,we want to see the "Van Gogh gorgeous Picture (they are all!!!)" "Stary Night" at the Museum of Modern Art, and Guggenheim Museum as well. I don’t see anywhere how to contact you???
Me going to Seattle
We hope you have a great trip!
I’m disappointed that you spend any time on MOHAI and more time on Thr Chihuly Museum. Oh, and the Botanical Park.
Only in August. Other months the weather is horrible. It would be a hit and miss.
I lived in the Seattle area for 40 years. My favorite months were always Sept-Oct. That said....I moved to Mexico permanently in 2018.
@@steveburke7675 remember every September 3rd. Morning would have that fall chill in the air. Always made me depressed.
Very nice beautiful sweeto
Thanks!
f'ck a water taxi take the ferry you can get beer and go to the top its amazing
No train system???
The top thing to do is to STAY SAFE. McDonalds and Starbucks have closed their restaurants due to crime, its bad.
can you recommend some nice hotels near downtown??
Hyatt regency is the best
Green tortoise hostel
Top number 1 avoid the homeless and you won't get robbed. Top number 2...visit anywhere else in the country
Bruce lee is buried there.
