  • Resin artist here! First, make sure you work in a well-ventilated area. Second, please wear gloves. 0:36 - the purple stuff is a diy silicone mold. I do not recommend pouring resin that deep without layering. It will get super hot and may not cure. 1:01 - not all resins will be in that state after just one hour. Some will be completely hardened and some will still be fully liquid. And please wear gloves when handling resin that isn’t fully cured. 1:29 - any food with a high moisture content will rot. I Don’t recommend putting food of any kind in resin, but definitely not anything with moisture. This advice extends to the next craft also. 2:03 - I have no idea how well that would de-mold. Pringles cans have cardboard inside, i think if you somehow managed to get it out it would be covered in cardboard. Resin sticks to everything but silicone and certain plastics. You can buy silicone molds in the shape of a cylinder like that and just put your chips in there. Chips are dry, so it should be alright. 2:16 - drying the fruit should be fine. I Don’t know how to dry fruit, so I don’t know if they did it right, but if you’re able this should work fine. 2:38 - make sure the surface you do this on will detach from your resin. 3:14 - if you want this table to remain level, make sure you have the exact same length of resin for each leg. 3:23 - unsure if resin will detach from playdoh. You could do the diy silicone mold for this to ensure it works. 3:44 - they didn’t tell you this, but that was UV resin. The purple glow was the UV lamp to cure it. You can paint on resin, I would recommend a layer at the very bottom also and a final layer on top. 4:21 - they used alcohol ink, but a very similar effect would be achieved with mica powder. 4:47 - we don’t see them seal the bottom. Also, the resin may not de-mold cleanly. 5:08 - I Don’t know why you would want to do this, but do it in layers with silicone bowls. 5:54 - no. I would refrain from using resin with food. I’m sure you could find food-safe resin, but be careful regardless. 6:15 - I have no idea how they thought that would cure. The resin will drip to the bottom because epoxy resin takes longer to cure. It may work with UV resin. 7:00 - that looks like a real flower. It will die. 7:15 - that was UV resin. I have never seen resin break like that. 7:32 - just buy a chessboard mold. That is unnecessarily difficult. 7:54 - more diy silicone! Please cure your resin in layers. 8:31 - you can keep bubbles from forming under the flowers by first dipping them in your mixed resin. 9:04 - they used alcohol ink. 9:25 - depending on the plastic, this won’t even detach. You could do the diy silicone thing again. 9:48 - that’s gold foil! 10:21 - hot glue should work. Or you could make your own silicone mold, like a normal person. 10:45 - that… was not Resin. 10:53 - WHERE are your GLOVES? 11:20 - that must stay in the plastic. That will not demold. 11:32 - those dyes in the candies will bleed. 12:22 - they make resin tape that will definitely peel off and serve the same purpose. Do this on a silicone mat. 13:38 - please wear a respirator if you sand resin. 14:23 - hm….. I hope this helped you in some way!
