- that's the lesson for beating the game quickly, but for speedrunners when going for the World Record you have to spend countless attempts hoping for good luck

I love this. As a kid, playing on grandma's windows XP PC, I had to wait untill she was busy so i could play SaS. I only made past 4th boss i think. Untill i discovered that going in magic, charisma and armor is much better. Nostalgia

- it's only 1 developer that makes these S&S games and he said that it was a mistake in developement so speedrunners took advantage of it

When I was a kid I would never make it pass the 4th boss but one time I got lucky and made it to the 9th and thought I was a good. Now I know wasn’t even close to beating the game

- I didn't even beat Son of Stylonius when I was a kid, the first time I beat the game legit was in 2012 I believe. After beating it many times legit and trying to learn everything about the game I began speedrunning it in 2020

- I don't know which one is faster. but bombard deals more damage, and when the opponent is very low on health I use "snipe" to kill him because it has a better chance of hitting

- Bombard is slower, but more damage. snipe is generally the boss min damage

Hey i play this game casually and only yesturday i discovered this method and wow i made it pretty far in until my wifi disconnected hehe. But how did you know what stats to train exactly like sometimes it is 3 agility and 1 attack other times it can be 4 agility. Also this happend to me a couple of times was wondering if it happend to you. When you level up in a tournament like a boss or the npcs and quickly choose your skills when you level up it shows ur

- @@ceoof52xp12 Thank you for joining our discord server and btw these are known strats using this glitch , sometimes when I level up on a tournament I look on the stats so they don't reset . this category is also harder than it looks , when I first started speedrunning this game I started with easy categories then moved on to the harder ones , I wanted this run to be a 1:05:xx but got unlucky ;(

- yeah I'm pretty sure you can get the .swf file of the game from any flash games website and play it on flash player or something

- Even clicking with the mouse requires practice and an hour long speedrun will most likely have a mistake of missclicking

- That was a glitch called "Whirlwind Glitch" which for some reason lets you hit the enemy anywhere from the map. it did get patched in the steam version but it's still present in the flash version of the game

I guess you are playing the flash version of this game since I can see the graphics setting on the botton left corner of the screen, that feature doesn't exist on steam version.

- Performing whirlwind with the bow is a glitch, in the glitchless category you perform whirlwind with the sword.

- yes you can play it either on steam where you search "Swords and sandals classic collection" or you can get the .swf file for the flash version I don't recommend playing the flash version for fun since the steam one is better. but unless you want to speedrun this category then flash is required

- @@OddWorlderer it's better in categories that don't require glitches. the Any% does require the whirlwind glitch which doesn't work on the steam version so that's why I used the flash version

- There is more to this speedrun than meets the eye, especially that strategizing in the beginning of the run. Yeah speedrunners play the game a lot, and know basically everything about it

- Good luck beating the current record of 59min 41s which took the runner +1000 attempts and grinding +5 hours a day in 2 weeks. you're probably gonna hate your life trying it but it's your choice, Don't ever judge the difficulty of a speedrun by just watching it but after actually attempting it
