The story telling in this video is pretty good. If you pay attention you can notice things like the moment in the video where he looks at the grass and finds sizzlipede, the moment before the tournament when he receives the call that allowed him to trade and evolve escavalier and also the moment were Jaiden arrives with her Blaziken to the Galar region.

It's like what Pokemon Challenges said at the end of his reaction to Jaiden's Platinum nuzlocke. 'Its a set of self imposed rules for a children's game." It's meant to be fun so you can make any extra rules you want within reason.

Yo, Gotta say, Wobbuffet is a menace in Nuzlockes, both as an enemy and an ally. Believe me, in my own Shield Nuzlocke, I caught a Wobbuffet and destroyed all of our enemies. He died against Leon’s Charizard, but it was because of the Burn after his G-Max Wildfire went off, but it was the final kill we needed to win, and our only other casualty was a fodder mon.
1:43 i really love how Jaiden seemed to inspire a whole bunch of pokemon fans to try their hand at a Nuzlocke for the first time myself included
She was one of my inspirations too! I initially was like "No way, I could never survive a Nuzlocke! I'll just watch them and read the comics from the sidelines!" But as time went on, I started being all like "Well...I mean I am a Pokemon fan, and I don't wanna go my whole life without at least _trying_ to do one!" and then Jaiden's video happened and I was like "Alright, I'm PUMPED! Mom bought me some -bootleg- GBA cartridges online, I'm gonna Nuzlocke LeafGreen!" That LeafGreen Nuzlocke was a LOT of fun, btw! And also depressing, 'cause y'know...death ^_^;

I love the respect and love that the community has for Jaiden.
I also did a bug only Nuzlocke and I will say, Sword and Shield are brutal. There are less than 20 different species you can get, since you can’t even go to Isle of Armor or Crown Tundra due to the required Slowpoke catch

I actually kinda like that in Sword and Shield, all the adults are like, "Nah, just go about your gym challenge. You're just a kid. We'll take care of the disasters," instead of going, "Hey, you, small child! Deal with the bad guys because why not."
I predicted that Crustle was going to be able to do something important since he kept making fun of how bad it was when Crustle isn’t a bad mon at all.

@@idosomethingiguess3680 it's a competitive Nuzlocke between two players. TMs and Held Items are forbidden, but other than that it plays like an ordinary Nuzlocke until the players complete a gym. After each badge they choose one pokemon to throw into a 1v1 cagematch against the other player. Winner gets TMs or Held Items (player's choice), Loser dies. After the Champion they hold a 6v6 Final Battle to determine the Victor
Game: "The AI will be AGAINST you" Patterz and YYT: "TRAITOR!"

"Durant is amazing!" I'm gonna say this right now, Durant has TURANT, the move that events the pokemon from moving twice in a row. I may be an Unova child, but I know what sucks and what dominates, Dwebble, later evolving into Crustle, even if Durant is Steel bug, it has a 4x weakness, while yes, Crustle has more weaknesses, non are 4x weak, Rock, steel, and water are all 2x weak, and fire for Durant is 4x weak, not just that, but who would choose a metal ant over the derpy bug?
Truant’s it’s hidden ability. Your not going to get a Durant with truant unless your looking for it. Yes Durant is 4X weak to fire but it also has 8 resistances and an immunity to poison. Crustle has more bad matchups than good ones, with its 3 weaknesses and 2 resistances. Also it didn’t matter if the weakness is 2X or 4X your probably switching out anyway.
Level 100 durant is literally my ace pokemon. Never failed me even in disadvantages(I had hin learn some op dragon and other type moves.)
I'm currently doing my 1st nuzlock of pokemon y, also happens to be my first play through of y and its custom forms. Super fun but also mega stressful XD.

At least if you have the DLC's you can catch Escavalier and Accelgor in this game. And pretty much every trade evolution pokemon, so that's cool.

Golisopod: slow has emergancey exit and is weak to charizards stab, vikavolt: slow and not that great defensivley, Crustle: has huge defense and rock is 4x effective against charizard. mr tofu man: "crustle would die vikavolt and golisopod are the best for this." me: "well let me erm actually you for a minute."

Those moments in both Jaiden and Young Yung's story where the Pokemon is supposed to die, but somehow hangs on, and it's thought to have survived due to a fallen comrade(s)... It brings a tear to my eye.
I'm doing a catch lock the rules are simple you may only use the first six pokemon you get including your starter. If a pokemon faints then and only then are you allowed to catch another pokemon to replace the one you lost. So the rules are simple no catch a pokemon unless you have an open slot. You can only have an open slot if one of your pokemon faints. You can use items and potions in battle however a rule I add to my game is you may only use a potion once per battle so be wise when using the potion
You can get Grubbin on Route 1 in Galar… I learnt this in a run where Pokémon I catch can only use the first 4 moves they have by levelling up

You know what's worse than running into a Wobbuffet in a Nuzlocke? Running into one during a randomized nuzlocke. 😢

For my very first Nuzlocke I took the typical 3 rules, (must nickname them, can't use them if they faint, can only catch the first encounter of each route) with the dupes and shiny clause. But I made it so that each pokémon had 3 lives, so 3 faints until they had to be removed. It was just a safer and more enjoyable way for me to ease into rules. I'm the kind of person who has my favourite team in each game and I just play the games using that team however many times, so nuzlockes for me are enjoyable because it forces me to use a variety of natures and genders I have no control over, and pokémon I would never normally touch. It's amazing what pokémon you can get attached to when you give them a chance and they pull through for you in amazing situations. Part of me always felt like it was cheating and not a true nuzlocke so it's nice to see someone as a deep into the nuzlocke community as Pat saying that honestly as self-imposed rules you can homebrew nuzlockes to whatever makes it most enjoyable and it still counts.

You can get indeed catch a sizzlepede in the fire gym. I know because I did in my second play through of Pokémon sword.
I find it sad that they didn't use shedninja because yes it's like nom nom but it's insanely fast and doesn't have much weaknesses and vary strong also it can lean alot of cool moves and really would have made a big impact on your game
