►Earlier, 5-month-old Ellen was living on the streets of Fresno, California - a stray dog without a friend in the world. By the time a local shelter picked her up, her health was so poor that the director there reached out to Shirley Zindler of the Dogwood Animal Rescue Project for help.
"She was very weak and suffering from a terrible case of mange, malnutrition and was covered in sores and wounds from many, many foxtails piercing her skin and causing infection and abscesses," Zindler told The Dodo. "She was truly a sad, sick little girl."

  • A rescuer from Greece says it best about, broken dogs, dogs live in the now. In quick time they learn to replace the terrible memories, with the now ones, the good ones, Ellen had done that!❤❤❤ Huge thanks to Dogwood Animal Project for taking her in, giving her a million and more cuddles, medication & good nutrition. I'd happily add my name to this list for potential forever home, but I already have ever a rescue dog, who's still learning about what a house is, how to walk in a leash and eat slowly hehe, he's figured out cuddles are okay for about 1.5 seconds. He to has a long way to go. Our baby will get there, no doubt, he's not our first fearful rescue and won't be out last. I just feel Ellen should be in the perfect place from the start. So all my sincerest, respect and love. Best wishes to everyone that's helped Ellen. To Ellen, you've got this girl, the world is filled with love and adventures, have fun living in the now pretty girl❤❤❤

    • yes just checked with two dog rescue centers that are mentioned and neither gave permission to host their media and will be filing copyright claims
