What I said before was just that it wasn't as squeaky clean and perfect as sitcoms portrayed it. With the Satanic Panic, several serial killers on the loose and the Cold War hottest than ever the 80s were a wild time but not necessarily bad. • I remember Family Guy. It first aired on Fox back in January 1987 and had three successful seasons till 1991. Taking inspiration from skit shows, Family Guy focused on cutaway humor which was very new at the time. The show was also known for pushing the envelope with it’s humor. Poking fun at celebrities, pop culture and even religion. Family Guy garnered as much complain from viewers as it did praise. Unfortunately Fox pulled the plug after the 3rd season in 1991. Though we did get the 1999 movie. The movie was a mixed bag among fans. Some still love it to this day while others complained how over the top the characters became. Today younger generations just see it as another generic 80s sitcom. But to us who grew up with it, we won’t forget how different and raunchy the show was for back in the day.

  • This one actually looks like a good wholesome show with a lot of interesting ideas. Like every episode with Quagmire he would have a different 'girlfriend' Cleveland would still own his deli but it would be way more successful Joe would actually probably be a Vietnam veteran instead but still be a good friend and helps in the neighborhood Peter would also still get into fights with the Chicken Guy but it would be a fastfood guy in a suit that Peter never sees his face. Brian and Stewie would still have their adventures, but they would only be able to hear each other and Stewie's attempts at world domination would actually just be his imagination. Also Tom Tucker actually looks a whole lot like Tom Selleck

    • And Meg would still be bullied at school. But her friends and family would actually comfort her and stand up for her. Peter would still be goofy and care free externally. But that would turn out to ultimately be an act, a defense mechanism to stop people from inquiring into how he really feels because he doesn't like how he turned out (fat and dumb) and it would tear him up inside that his son Chris turned out just like him. Chris would still be horny. But he would also be broken up about his weight and poor academic performance. Carter Pewterschidt would still be a rich jerk who looks down on Peter because he thinks that Peter isn't good enough for Lois. But Carter would be too ashamed to ever say that out loud, because he would think that Lois ended up with Peter because Carter never took the time to show Lois that he cares about her. Lois would still be a home maker. But, because she is from an upper class background, she would be very articulate and educated. But she would also be spoiled. So she didn't really know what it was like to be poor or live with the health consequences of obesity before she met Peter. Peter grew up in a working class Irish-American Catholic background. So he likes Lois not just because she is physically attractive, but also because she introduced him to things that he didn't know about except from movies and TV before he met her. Lois would like Peter because he showed her a level of warmth and attention that she never got from her mom and dad.

We humans took thousands of years to genetically evolve into the state we are now, and now in the past 100 or so years we’ve made exponential leaps in opportunities that our minds can’t keep up with, anthropologically speaking. Not trying to say everything is gonna crash and burn, but I believe most human minds are gonna have a natural tendency towards complacency and not realizing risks, so at some point a serious intervention is gonna have to happen. Because tech will evolve at a far faster rate than human society, let alone DNA, unless we find a way to fast-track THAT as well.

It’s a great tool for inspiration and reference, but it’s still got a long ways to go to escape the uncanny valley. The real question is how quickly will it evolve until it can create something truly indistinguishable from reality. The powers that be likely have that sort of technology already, but at a consumer level it needs a lot of work yet.
