  • This is beautiful!!! The little girl in front totally killed it, she did a great job!!!!

    • She sure did! If she was exposed to a signed language from birth it actually isn't unusual. Signed language development runs about 6 months ahead that of spoken.

    • Deafness is not a disability it is a strength to who you are what you are capable of which others aren't or just dont think it's important but trust me it is. Thank you 🧏‍♀️😃🤝

  • My children are home educated. BSL will be starting in our Home School from September along with deaf culture and history. We grew a passion for BSL after seeing a mum at a home ed group end up left on her own because no one could communicate with her. I can’t bear to see that happen to any one. Grabbed paper and pen and sat at the table next to her. Wrote my name and asked hers and now we are firm friends. I’ve not been able to take classes but you tube is a great resource and my friend is a good and patient teacher. We use a mix of sign and typing on our phones and she lip reads well. I hope to be fluent enough to not need to type some day but it will take some time I am sure. I hope you will be able to get BSL taught in schools If you are able to recommend any resources I could use with my kids I would really appreciate it. Sadly you don’t have classes near us but we will be trying to learn some of your song videos. Greatest Showman is a firm favourite here.

    • I really hope bsl is taught in schools, I’m trying to teach myself by watching KZhead but it can be a but difficult, I think there needs to be a potion and it to be spread worldwide to get sign language taught in schools,

  • I worked @ my job for 6yrs now but these past 3 years has been hell for me i have finally spoken up & others now, have the chance to also speak up all cuz, i spoke up & said i am protected under EEOC & i wan to b heard not get constantly turned away i waned to b seen & hesrd for how i am feeling & getting treated differently then, other coworkers i work w/. The ppl @ HR finally heard me, & r finally gonna try to make things better, hopefully. I told them i do not understand anything nor the write-ups i am getting. & As for my disability, i am not able to comprehend alot of things ikt. I still have dyslexia & i am trying to achieve day by day to get rid of all my disabilities slowly but, this is me & i knu i prob won't b able to get rid of 'em. ..... Although, the bosses sharpest words always try to bring me down i have not stayed quite anymore. I have tried to speak up about it, just as this song. ....... My first language alot ppl dunno that it is asl they think it's inglish cuz, i speak it well, @ times but, that only cuz, i got help for it @ a young age & proved those doctors wrong bout there ever being a slight chance I'll ever speak they side i won't b able to speak just a slight chance i could say few words well, they were wrong. I have taught myself 3 other basic languages- Chinese, Japanese & S. Korean Hanguel. I knu spanish from my parents who adopted me @ 2months old. Althou,my bosses don't like, that i say i have disabilities they say they see me as a normal person just like everyone else. Ikt alot of things it can't b changed cuz, this is me but they do not wan to understand that, my brain cannot function as other ppl w/o disabilities can, my brain's age is 15yrs old while it's reading levels at 2 or 3 reading level. I have tried to read chapter books i had bought from store but, i cannot read them cuz, i don't understand wat i'm reading like, the words wash away as if, i never read a single word. My bosses don't understand that it's the same way when, they speak to me. I have started reading on the reading app "Readict", & i can say it has improved my reading, dramaticly. I can now write long words & i've also finished my 2nd chapter book yesterday which, this time it was about vampires, warlocks & humans who can live longer then any other human can. My fiancé is proud of me but, he still corrects me on my words, sometimes & at times it does frustrat me but, i have to grasp the concept that, This Is Me, uk.=⌒.⌒= (uk- u knu) (ikt- i knu that)
