Palestine is a region that has been inhabited for thousands of years due to it being a nexus point between multiple major empires. It is a region that was home to different tribes, cultures, and religions in the past, which today is contested over. But what is the true origins of Palestine? Where did it's name come from? And why is it used today?

The Jews from Europe are descendants of Jews who were exiled to Rome and Jews who immigrated to Rome from the first and second centuries AD.

100% right, the Romans did try to disassociate the Jews from the province of Judea. The Canaanite’s are a bit more mysterious in my opinion, and quite loosely defined, as they were not just one solid empire but many tribes and groups who had a similar language, grouped together as Canaanites.

What we call the "Holy Land" has a very long history. In very remote times it was populated by Philistines and referred to as Philistine. The ancient Hebrews emigrated from Sheba into the land of Egypt near what was then the Philistine border. The people in Israel now who emigrated to Palestine/Israel in the 1940's from Eastern European countries are not descendants of the ANCIENT ISRAELITES. They just emigrated there and laid claim to the land. We don't actually know who those people are. Some call them Khazars and people who converted to Judaism. This is totally inaccurate. The Ashkenazim, which are a subgroup of the Jewish people, were originally Judean and Galilean Jews that were displaced by the Roman and Muslim empires. They ended up fleeing to and SETTLING in the Bulgarian coast and later on moved northward and eastward deeper into Europe. They have Levantine DNA and features, which is why the Europeans always looked at them as outsiders and perpetually persecuted them. The Ashkenazim were a minority when the State of Israel was declared by the United Nations. The majority of Jews in Israel in 1948 were Sephardic, Mizrahi, and Yemenite Jews.
I'm pretty sure the biggest group of Jews in Israel are Mizrahi, who are all from the middle east. Modern Palestinians may have a percentage of Canaanite DNA (we don't know for sure there isn't any research I could find unfortunately) We can only infer from research done on Lebanon.
The region was colonized by Babylon, Persia, Greeks, Romans and Arabs. Colonizers come in all colors and ethnic groups. This is why the Jews come in all colors and ethnic groups as well. I've watched a number of videos on this subject. this one is somewhat misleading. it credited the Romans for naming this area Palestine. it conveniently leaves out the fact that it was the Greeks who originally named Philistia as Palestine. Not true. they got it from the Greeks. the irony here is that it was the Greeks who dissed Philistines who were of Greek ancestry. the reason for naming them Palestine was that the Greek scholars found them nasty.
