  • Guys, NOTAR is around for more than 20 years .... and the air flow never turns, there is a trap opening and closing to allow more or less air go spray out ...

  • There is a separate fan in the NOTAR, not direct engine thrust.

  • Hi Bob. Great video. You are obviously a very knowledgable source for helo info. Question, do you know of a reputable flight school in / around Southeastern New England ? I like the MD 500 style helo. I'm probably crazy to want to learn to fly helos, but I spent my life in the USCG, been a working US Merchant Marine captain. I just turned 60, and would like to add helo to my charter yacht services. I should have started this pursuit 30 years ago. Do you know of a good training center where I can give it a try. Thank you Capt. Keith

    • Kieth Sorry took so long to respond have been traveling in australia and new zealand i am not aware of a good school in your area and they will probably not start you on a 500 however once you get your ticket ( license ) that is a goal !! they are amazing machines However if you have the money to buy one probably 500k then buy one and hire a instructor to teach you that was what i did I started on a enstrom 280 fx a great reciprocating starter ship my email is bobdcampana@gmail.com if i can help anyway please reach out see my youtube at getback2work! see my current enstrom and if ever in Ca i will gladly take you flying by the way thanks for your service Bob
