Russell vs Payano FULL FIGHT: December 19, 2020 | PBC on SHOWTIME
(December 19, 2020) Bantamweight contender Gary Antonio Russell (18-0, 12 KOs) kept his unblemished record intact with a technical decision victory over former world champion Juan Carlos Payano (21-5, 9 KOs). After an accidental headbutt caused a bad cut to the left brow of Payano, referee David Fields stopped the fight after the sixth round at the advice of the ringside physician. The fight went to the scorecards, where Russell led on all three cards (58-56, 59-55, 59-55).
Before the injury, Russell and Payano were engaged in a scrappy brawl that saw multiple exchanges of power punches. In the closing seconds of the sixth, and ultimately final round, Russell caught Payano with a counter-shot that hurt Payano. Russell landed 86 of 243 punches while Payano landed just 58 of 268 punches. Russell flashed excellent body work throughout the fight, out landing Payano 40 to 17 on body shots.

This ref is blind. He's only capable of seeing Payano hold, but conveniently is unable to see when Russell was holding. The doctor ending the fight was a bad decision. Sad. Could have been a better fight.
Payano is a handful. Difficult fight to score im glad i didnt have to score it.

I swear these fights are totally rigged and the referees are in on it and a major part of it. I'm looking at the first round and I might be a minute and a half in and I see the 36 year old have the younger guy against the ropes. The ref comes in immediately and stops the action then resets the fight to center ring. You people have to be able to see this and know this is rigged from the start. The stage is set to promote one guy and build him up as a media creation. This is disgusting. I hope PBC gets caught and sued.
