I really like the Larry(?) vlogger guy. His dialogue feels so seamless as a tutorial/exposition. Hes well animated and expressive. Hes informative and knows what hes doing , but still admits his mistakes and is so friendly A less annoying Larry the cable guy, really

This game reminds me of those spoof movies from the 70's, it's all a big joking twist on Disneyland, FNaF, and the VR horror genre, and it's honestly done very well. The puns and jokes are funny and the Floridian Lieutenant Dan is fun to listen to. Combat is a bit wonky but overall it looks solid.

Oddly enough the drug themes are fitting (?) Especially since in real life old cartoons weren't exactly made for children and often referenced drugs, alcohol, smoking etc. This game has to be one of my favorite games it's done so well Definitely planning on buying this game once I get a new vr headset
if you're making a park to improve your image, it generally doesn't help you if you openly admit to the death, crooked intent and general dodginess in the visitor's centre. and that's WITHOUT the literal deathtraps.
Only in a twisted alternate universe would such a nutty park exist.
This game has a surprising amount of love poured into it. Speaking as someone who recently visited Disneyland, HappyFunLand has a degree of accuracy in its parody, and I love the notion of the employees being robots (given how hard Disney works its employees and its employee expectations). There’s a lot of detail in the rides as well, which is always great to see. I don’t think HappyFunLand is a bad game at all, rather, it’s a great game that definitely deserves more recognition.

Thanks for the gameplay. This was a lot of fun to watch. Hopefully they add captions in the future for hard of hearing and non-US people. I love that you get to really experiece the rides. Love the references to old school cartoons/entertainment. Some flaws but this is nearly perfect in my eyes. The squirrel reminded me of Conkers Bad Fur Day.

The NPC jank brought me right back to 2001. I really loved how there was just no animation at all for the creepy "Hatbox Guy" robot in the Haunted Mansion. It was all pretty well rescued by the robot voice acting, though. The cursing naked pirate skeletons as well as the Tiki Bird were both wonderful treats. I want to give this game reasonably high praise, it feels like a good B-movie created by a cast that's really having fun. But, the combat was terrible and basically irrelevant to the plot. Soma realized that its combat was also irrelevant to the plot, and gave an option to remove it, but Soma's combat wasn't actually bad. Finally, after exorcizing dead Grisley's ghost from the mainframe, what was commanding the remaining robots to attack in the same way they were before? I know I'm looking for logic here, and that's my fault, but I would have loved to see the post-mainframe robots behaving differently, even if they were still dangerous. I know this game didn't have that kind of budget for coding, but a man can dream. Alternately, with Grisley's human experimentation and the angry child noises from the kidbots, it would have been interesting to discover different brains acting as the templates for various robot types, keeping heir programming running by essentially enslaving the souls of murdered people to keep their AI's running. Those robots would have gone feral when Grisley took over the mainframe because he stupidly disabled something important trying to take direct control. It would also explain why they kept being violent after Grisley no longer commanded all of them, because he never did.

A very aggressive riff on Disney. I like it for that concept. But, as with many games, no matter how realistic or colorful, something tells me this game just feels... kinda bad to play? The audio is also kinda... um. All over the place. Sometimes too loud, sometimes too quiet, sometime you're forced to deal with overlap... The quality overall is questionable at best, in my opinion. Potential is great, but they should have given it a few once-overs to make sure it doesn't feel like it was a little... unbalanced.

Yeah same. Enemies seem to be there to… be there? There are lots of gimmicks but it’s tough to point out any significant game mechanics. Almost everything seems to be designed to just move you around to see the pretty scenery. Which don’t get me wrong, it looks great, but then it interrupts your experience with flavorless enemies or screwed up/conflicting audio. It’s like they started and finished with the game’s setting before going back and sprinkling assorted gameplay on top of it. It’s a fun setting but still gameplay feels stapled on and not complimentary. Audio balancing is all over the place and there are a ton of unnecessary noises.

This walk-through is good, but this game should’ve had some subtitles on.
The game, in it's current state, is lacking some of the basic options you would expect/hope to find, including subtitles.

Alot of people may not know the reference to the Gorilla is btw, but because I recall what its suppose to be since I remember it and just watched Godzilla x King Kong The New Empire (spoilers in the text btw), its a reference to the backlot of Universal where one of its main attractions was having a large giant King Kong animatronic try to kill you. Its also funny that I was right with this game, Mike Pollock was Malt Grisley here since I can recognize his Eggman but also numerous of voice acting before he did Eggman (like the mayor in Kirby Right Back at Ya, the narrator of 4Kids, etc). Also funny how he is cursing and says "Im Malt Grisley dammit!" since Im gonna see him at Sonic Revolution 2024 this year (I also backed the kickstarter this year). Thanks for sharing this mate I was wondering what this game was about. :)
Also, I like the actor playing for Larry, props to him for also carrying this through. I do feel sorry for what happened to him here. Still, great gameplay here!

So..... what I'm led to understand here is this steps in the traps all Disney parodies always end up doing, when there's far, far better ways to handle it. As a mascot horror project, it immediately fails because it's blunt about the intentions pretty much immediately. As a parody, it's so on the nose that it isn't funny to the point where they name Walt pretty much immediately as the source of ridicule. And as a VR horror game, it goes for easy scares. It reads like a checklist of easy jokes at the expense of Walt Disney. "He was a capitalist, so let's make our parody really unsubtle about it! The company hid his smoking, so let's make the Mickey parody an advertising mascot for the tobacco industry!" Meanwhile, some of the better commentary was done better in the sixties by Mad Magazine and the 90s by The Simpsons going to Itchy and Scratchyland.
