I grew up in Upstate NY on a dairy farm and loved going out into the woods. Been living in Florida for over 30 years and never step foot in the woods. Too many dangerous snakes for me and the pythons are the least of the worries. 😂PS. Before picking up a " water snake " .... make sure it's not a " water moccasin " .😢😢😢
We have timber rattlesnakes that can get near 6ft long, thick as a ball python, with a wide variety of regional venom variations and also copperheads alot of places in upstate ny. Along the hudson, catskills, other ranges all the way to the great lakes i beleive. Our watersnakes often do get confused for cottons but their range ends around maryland i think. But the black bears are the real troublemakers in ny. 😂
@@useyourdelusion6807 Strange, never ran or walked into a rattlesnake or copperhead in Upstate NY.
@@freedomrings1420 ah that stinks. Or maybe lucky you since you dont like snakes? They generally stay hidden from humans. But you can often hear the rattles while hiking, in high thicket and brush. Especially among the old growth pines. We have some beautiful timbers too, really amazing patterns. Sorry you never got the chance!
Love these videos when you’re in the field! Please do more…especially at night.
I love when they get away 😅. They are smart and quick ❤

The fast garter snakes were ribbon snakes. Some of them have a green or a blue stripe down their backs depending on where they live.
