Part 1 of my special work adventure - going to one of Swedens islands in a truck for the first time. In this video I pick up the truck and load it up before going to Nynäshamn where the boat will take me to Gotland.

    • I'm blessed to be able to live on Gotland permanetly. During the tourist season it's pretty crowded when compared to non tourist season. We are only around 60k people living there. Things are getting back to normal, but I'm very afraid of that Delta shit, that it will hit us hard...

  • 17:06 Those dedicated "terminal trucks" are really interesting. The more fancy ones rotate the cabin 180 degrees so the driver can actually see were they are backing into. The first time I say one of those in action and how easy they make the life of its drivers, I thought: "oh come on, that is not fair...".

  • 17:17 These trucks loading and unloading the trailers on the ferry got an interesting feature. They have a swivelling seat so they never reverse, they always drive with the driver facing the direction the truck is travelling. You can actually see the truck without a trailer on, the driver is facing the towbar.

  • I once took a boat from Seattle to Alaska, called “the Alaska ferry”, I hauled a 53 foot trailer of food and beverages I never always saw land but it was a long trip. I’m from seattle, so I have taken ferry’s many times, but never longer than 60 minutes unless we had to stop for whale pods. I love your videos, watching the switch engines ( I used to drive one moving trailers in a distribution yard (frozen, milk, soda, ice cream, non grocery. they called us yard jockeys because we only had 1 seat. that taught me how to Back a trailer good(50 + drops everyday. Lover your videos!

  • Greetings from Scotland! I was also super excited for you Cassie! "What are you doing today? I'm taking a ferry to Gotland!" I love it! :) I always loved the long-haul ferries because it meant more break time! YAY! Overnight, even better! I always sleep really well on a ship or ferry. Was that the security office dog inspecting your bags Cassie? :) I had no idea you were a skateboarder, I never had the skill to do that without lots of cuts and bruises! :) Loving the really cool green Volvo rig! Do you get to keep that now? :)) Gas driven ferry! I definitely never been on a gas driven ship or ferry. As an ex- mechanic I would love to take a tour of the engine room! "Ferry mode" on the Tacho! Damn, in my day they didn't have THAT! Those weird half-cab shunting trucks are so cool eh? Usually with a lifting 3rd wheel, seat/steering that swivels 360 degrees makes reversing onto a trailer so quick! Great video Cassie! Thoroughly enjoyed that! Can't wait to see Part 2! :)))
