  • The fact that this song is overshadowed by Toxicity, Aerials, Chop Suey, and others shows just how good SOAD has always been. Because to me, this is their best song.

    • Not only that but it's IMO their best album. For me 'SOAD' followed by 'Steal This Album'. The rest are whatever, I like them but the two I listed are head and shoulders above. I will say though 'Deer Dance' is one of my favorites from them.

Using words in a certain sequence can be phenomenal, given the structure is perfect, and the timing of mood with whom you're conversing with... I. E. @andralfoo@andralfoo3 жыл бұрын
    • @@andralfooVoices do age yes, but this is actually not the case with why Serj sounds different, some people have the same voice after years and although Serj's talking voice did change a little, his Singing should be the same as he has his moments where he sounds like nothing ever happened. Here an example kzhead.info/sun/q7SQZs6cgnqGgq8/bejne.html for 20 seconds straight he just sounds amazing. The reason he sounds different today are that he doesn't really feel it as much as back in the day where he was all into it, and most importantly his Normal Singing, he does a thing I don't know if its a technique but lets just call it technique it's called Nasal Singing. It is a big help for singing and for reaching high notes but it sounds horrible. Vocal teachers teach you how to get out of the nasal singing and teach how to reach the notes without relying on that technique. So all this leads up to Serj needing to get some Vocal training. But as I said I don't think he is into it as much as he was, so he doesn't really care :/ his new singing style fits for the last 2 albums of SOAD and especially works for his solo career, but for actual singing and everything else its very very bad. Even with nasal singing I hear him sounding pitchy a lot so that's another evidence for him needing to get some Vocal lessons.

If you think they have a generic sound, listen to A Little Piece of Heaven, Save Me, Dear God, Unbound, Lost, Sidewinder, etc. Slipknot has done some interesting tracks like Iowa, (515), Vermillion Pt.2, etc. I can't really speak for Disturbed since I don't listen to them. And I don't consider BB to be metal, even tho I love their stuff. And all those bands have meaningfull lyrics, even tho they aren't political

    • Yes, everyone interprets things differently. Sometimes, though, some people tap in to a vibe...an emotional truth. Songs speak to us through more than their lyrics. Hell, I'd argue that while lyrics are vital, they are really just the adjectives that describe the emotion of the song itself. That "BEFOOOORE!" IS that same rage you couldn't express. I had like, six or seven TV channel options. Then I found it. I was scared but amazed. His voice was godlike. The other day I went to school, and as I didn't know the name of the song and the band, I only talked to some friends, but none of them knew about the band. So I was certain I'd never hear about it again. But then came the internet. And all the misteries of my childhood no longer exist.
