So after crunching the numbers I see huge savings in getting a gas 1/2 ton over a heavy duty diesel but will I regret this? Also let’s see how this 2024 Tundra performs and holds up!
Hi Tyson- Congratulations on your new Tundra. I'm glad you bought this truck it will be a great addition to your fleet.
Love the view! The lake and trees make all things better. My son's do a lot of things you do, guess that's why I love your program!!🎉
I am so glad u use the vehicles for what they are mostly Intended for ....... work👌👍
I'm soo glad you got the new Tundra. I've been wanting to watch videos of people working this truck. I really hope you put it through its paces like the f350!
This is the Tundra content I want to see! I know the use your trucks see, so Looking forward to following along.
Just subsribed. Loving your video of your new Tundra. I've been having my Tundra for 16years. Very, very reliable . Hope the new tundra's serve you guys well. Looking forward to some more of your tundra content and updates.
Good and informative video Brother. Congratulations on the new truck.
To unlock all doors, you can hold it for longer. By default, tapping the door handle will open the driver's door (for safety), but holding the handle for a few more seconds opens the rest. Hope this helps!
Wow! Can’t wait to see how these Tundra’s hold up for you and your long term feelings good or bad. I drive a ‘15 Ram 2500 Cummins now so I’m really interested to see how you end up feeling about going to a 1/2 ton. I’ve seriously considered this truck for my next purchase as well.
Same
I had a gmc with wind noise like your truck. I slid some soft dowels behind the weather stripping and it was gone! Them Toyota's are nice trucks. Enjoy!! be well ! Merry Xmas to you and family !! all the best in the new year.
New Member I have a Tundra SR5 2009 and let me tell you that I don't regret it one second. I have worked and gotten gravel and wood like a maniac.. it never let me down and love it. looking forward to your very nice new truck.
Congrats bro. Looks really nice.
That's nice ty for showing inside..that's my favorite part..
Hello again my friend, congratulations to the new truck , it is amazing, can’t wait to see this on the channel , I wish you and your family Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 😄👍🌹
Congratulations, hope it's as good for you as my Tundra has been so far. I have the '22 Hybrid Iforce max . LOADS of power and torque. 👍
Bigger wheels and tires look great on those. Gives them a much more aggressive stance. Congrats on the new truck and hope you guys have a merry Xmas
Wow awesome Tundra 😊 thanks for this video 😊
Try to go into settings > vehicle customize > door control, you should be able to scroll down and see smart door access and it’ll be set to driver door only. You can change it to all doors!
Not on my tundra that’s the same as this truck. It’ll unlock all pressing key fob, or if I grab the passengers front handle. But still when I grab drivers handle I have to hold my hand there for a few seconds and it’ll unlock front door first then the rest. You’ll hear the 2 deer are door unlocks.
@@noah_webbthanks a bunch! I just followed your steps and see where I missed. This will make life with kids getting in truck easier.
Nice!! Well built!!
A tundra with a slip tank is so bad ass🤟 I bet it would be super slick with a softopper😉
Beauty Tundra! looks great! I bought a base SR (doing a minimalist build on it, it's also my work truck as well. Only mods I have on it to date is AFE Front Tow Hooks, Predator Side Steps & Bed extender. Can't wait to see how it treats you! I also have a 6.0 Power Stroke that is my weekend dirt bike hauler/toy! 2 different beasts for sure!
I remember watching your review for the 450 when you got that…damn. Crazy.
I’m in Nova Scotia as well. Have same truck with the shorter bed. Went with 295/70r18 falken at3w. Bought the colour matched grill surround shell. Went with a 1” cornfed front level. A 3/1 will be nose high, especially with a slip tank. I’m going Clazzio leather or katzskin. The 295’s killed fuel mileage. 200km trip to Halifax on Wednesday rain/wind 17L/100km.
My only $.02 is even though you have Toyota’s maintenance plan I would *highly* recommend sticking to their severe maintenance schedule. An oil change every 16,000km (10,000 miles) with 0W-20 is asking for problems down the road. I highly recommend sticking to 10,000km (6,000 mile) changes at the most for long term reliability
I'm at 30,000 on my 2022, 5000 thousand mile oil change interval. If I was considering a turbo charged engine I would trust Toyota to build it and stand behind it. Toyota has decades of experience with forced induction.
that's an old wives tale, modern engines and oil are not the same as the past. explain a single technical rational to your claim?
Definitely change every 5,000 miles if you plan to keep a long time. If you are going to trade in at 60-75k then that’s probably ok. Many people in the know will back up 5,000 mile intervals
Hop on Google and there’s plenty of reading about 8-10,000 mile oil changes causing problems in modern turbo engines. To each their own, just trying to make a helpful suggestion. Oil is cheap, engines aren’t. You do you!
looks really good in black
His and her Tundra’s, Nice!!👍🏻
Good looking truck Tyson. Owning an older Tundra, I am a fan of them. You will get bored with it before you have any engine problems. There are a few things I am not crazy about, but overall, a well built truck that drives nice and does most jobs expected of a light duty pickup. Merry Christmas Tyson, to you, Ashley, and Bauer!
Ive got my eye on one of these too. It sure took Toyota long enough to make a Crew Max with a 6.5' bed!! They would have sold so many more trucks if they did this with the previous Gen.
They would have looked funny asf
@@robertespinoza2740 matter of opinion I guess
If tundra offered a crew max with a standard bed (6.6ft) they would have definitely sold more I never understand why they didn’t do it they had the frame to do it because they offered a double cab with the 8ft bed.
I got a 16 ram 1500 hemi and I work the hell out of that thing so I’m sticking around to see how the tundra does 🤘
Hey amigo...havent forget about you. Bauer is growing very fast soon he will be driving all your machines 😮.. nice couple of trucks even Im more bias to Ford F series...Feliz Navidad merry chritsmas to you and family and hope 2024 is good for you as well 🌲🎅
Level the front, put Icon 2+” springs in the back, tires and a snow way plow frame:)
I was just looking at one the other day with the TRD 3 inch lift that is how I am going to go. I am just having a hard time with the idea of trading in my 200 Series. I am looking forward to watching you work this thing before I buy one
I am living in Alberta driving a taco. I must say, once this thing is fully driven into the dirt (in about 400,000 more KM) I might have to invest in one of these bad boys! Great video !!
Need to do a short vs long bed towing test. I'm interested to see how much a difference it makes, with a half-ton truck.
On my 2015 Chevy 2500 the small antenna on the roof was making a wind/ howling noise around 55 mph. They took it off and resealed it and has been good since
The wind noise is coming from the soft factory rubber insulation between the door and the cab it is what lines the door u might have to custom stuff some from the hardware store in there amongst it.but it will stop the noise
Congrats. I'm still driving my 07 5.7. I'll wait for a bit before buying a new Tundra.
Awesome SR5 video! Love it in Magnetic gray. Looking into one for myself. Any complaints for comfort with the cloth seats compared to the soft tex? Not sure which to go for
I am really interested to see how thee new tundras hold up in the real world work truck testing. I was a die hard toyota guy my whole life, then this year when my 2018 tacoma got flooded I needed to replace it in a week. I ended up getting a super crew 2020 f150 with the 2.7. I could not be happier, the room for two kids, the ride quality, the transmission shifting and even gas milage is better than the tacoma. I got the 2.7 because of all the issues you hear about with the 3.5. Its a totally different engine that the rest of the ecoboost engines. Probably would not work for you, my towing is 5500, or 9000 with the max tow package. Plus I like that the body is aluminum. All the rams and chevys here that are a few years old have the rockers and wheel wells rotting out already. My wife's 2022 rav4 has wind noise like that too, and I hate how toyotas shut off when you open the door. So dumb.
Beautiful Truck...!!
So refreshing to find videos of an honest appraisal with the comparison of your experience and how well it serves your company and family’s needs. Question-why no tow mirror option? I think they are excellent. Also, does your or your wife’s have factory air? If not why not? Thanks!
For what I’ll be towing with this I don’t need them and if I’m not using them I don’t want the big mirrors. Don’t like the look. No factory air. They don’t come on either of these trims
Can’t wait until you get your Cybertruck😜 Merry Christmas!!!
Congrats on the truck! Cannot WAIT to see this thing on the channel and see you put it to work! I have a 2022 Limited TRD Off Road and I absolutely love it. Just bought some 35’s for it, and the Westcott 3/1 is on it’s way! (Will be taking it to Ntyce to get it put on thanks to your recommendation!) Will love seeing what you do with it and excited to follow along!
Ok well please let me know when your doing that. Workplaytv12@gmail.com
@@workplaytv I definitely will!
Toyota, remote start is a pain. Push twice then hold on the third for a little bit until the park lights flash. Hope your gonna enjoy the less maintenance and running costs cause your gonna miss the HD capabilities. Happy Holidays from Newfie
The remote start is a very weak point , turns off when you open the door, very limited range on the remote as well . Plastic bumpers and no tow hooks . Other than those couple items it's a great truuck
Mr and Mrs Tundra ! What nice Christmas presents you give each other. How do I get on your Christmas gift list ? 🤔🎄
I’ll look on my truck tomorrow and tell you what setting I changed in order to unlock all the doors with keyless entry
I guess being a KZheadr and private contractor in Nova Scotia is paying off. You seem to be enjoying yourself and you should you seem like you work hard. Toyota is better known for reliability then the domestic trucks although I would have chose a F 250 with the godzilla motor. Just because I've had a few Ford trucks and they were great beaters and designed correctly if you get one built on quality day and not on a Friday before a holiday weekend. Good luck with your trucks and everything else ✌🏽🇺🇲
I would love to see you work this truck reasonably with in its capacity limits to see how it holds up.
Great truck
My buddy in WY quit buying Ram Cummings due to constant problems. He drove a V8 Tundra a few years, no problems. Now he has a new Tundra Max Hybrid Platinum. He said it tows his boat & big camper like a beast, but the mpgs aren’t great. But, no diesel maintenance costs & no problems with the new Tundra either.
Great looking truck, that’s the exact setup I would get. I look forward to seeing how it holds up for you! Any chance you can show the door sticker that has all the weight limits?
It has 1350lbs payload
Wow! Two Tundras, congrats! I found this at Toyota online manual page 113: 1. Grip the driver's door handle to unlock the door. Holding the driver's door handle for approximately 2 seconds unlocks all the doors. Grip front passenger door handle to unlock all the doors.* Make sure to touch the sensor on the back of the handle. The doors cannot be unlocked for 3 seconds after the doors are locked. 2. Touch the lock sensor (indentation on the upper part or lower part of the handle) to lock all the doors. Check that the door is securely locked. *: The door unlock settings can be changed.
Something else that is cool, you can download the manual as a pdf and save it to Files on your phone. Changing the unlock function is illustrated on page 114. Cheers!
I agree with you the Gray Metallic looks better than the Black color, Searching for a 24' Tundra Limited like your Gray one . Can't find a Limited w/ TRD pkg. & panoramic sunroof & PVM & BSM & prefer no 3" lift-kit because it runs $3995 . Did you find your Tundras on the lot or did you have to order them & if so how long did it take to get yours. Your Tundra videos are making me so jealous cause you were the convincing video that is making me switch from Chevy Silverado to Toyota Tundra. Thanks again, any info you have on those pkgs & accessories would be so grateful. Be safe & enjoy your Tundras
I’m looking into a Tundra as well (long time HD/Diesel guy who doesn’t tow much anymore) fyi the tow hook issue I can’t stand either.. Rough country actually makes a nice front bumper piece with a winch mount that has tow hooks which looks real clean and is fairly decent price (599$ without winch or $1079 with a 12k winch) it’s rough country, so I’m not sure on the longevity but it’s a fix and gives a winch option for this that use these for truck things.
Definitely nicer on the pocket dor gas...like the space in the back seat area... definitely...
You change trucks more than me haha! The half tons are nice for sure. I love my f-150. I have the 5.0 though
I've had 7 in last 2 years!
I have the same truck, I made them put on the TRD running boards for me
With all the trucks you own I can't believe you don't know the solution to the wind noise ! 😯 You even talked about it when you were describing other things about the truck. The wind noise control knob is more commonly known as the volume control for the stereo. The more you rotate the knob clockwise you will notice the more the wind noise diminishes. 😏
Nah i wont be leaving the channel. It was sad to see the Ram go. It doesent feel like it was here long. But its also good to have a change around and add some variety to your truck fleet. Thats how i see it anyway, plus i like the new truck.
Damn should have kept the GMC. Seems it would have met your needs more, if I'm not mistaken. Gasser, nice cloth interior, decent mpg maybe 3mpg less, but yet can still tow heavy skid steer, and heavier suspension, etc for your offroad longevity needs. I believe you will be trading it back on a f250 in 6 months. I have an f150 still with a slip tank, but I always find myself in the wrong truck at the wrong time having to commute back for the f450 lariat, or f350 lariat....I ended it by removing the slip tank and driving the f350 daily.
You Canadians must have some phenomenal write offs for your business's! My 2007 Toyota tundra 5.7 is great, but Toyota needs to build a 3/4 ton diesel!
Uve probably have seen it but u can replace the center plastic piece on the front with a steel kit that has tow points. I've seen other tundra owners do it on KZhead. It's not big and bulky either it looks like it supposed to be there.
Out of curiosity what kind of fuel mileage is the Toyota getting? I have a gas V8 Ram and I just purchase a 2020 Ram 6.7 Cummins with 20k miles on it this week. Two days in a row I had to make 243 mile round trip and I used the gas truck on one and the diesel on the other day. That Cummins (not deleted yet) got 19.7mpg calculated at the pump and the gas only got 15. So even though the diesel was more expensive per gallon it ended up being a little cheaper to fill the diesel than it was the gas truck. I'm guessing the Tundra is getting a lot better fuel mileage though. But I was actually really impressed with the Cummins, I was over 80+mph for most of the interstate, now I'm really curious what it will do after the weight loss program I'm looking to put it on.
Toyota is coming out with a performance package for the tundra that includes new air intakes, cat back exhaust, & tune. But it will require 91 octane fuel. More HP and lower peak torque rpm are the benefits. Cheers!
Man your killing me. I started watching you with the F350 platinum since it was just like my truck. Then you got rid of it for the F450 still a badass Ford. Then you get a GMC and the rams. I stuck in there hoping for you to go back ford. Now this, man.
Sorry buddy
@@workplaytvcan I ask why you keep changing trucks? Is it for KZhead purposes? Getting bored of them? Reliability? A lot of miles in a short time? I’ve been driving the same F150 for the past 11 years. I just don’t understand why someone would trade vehicles almost every year, especially now with how expensive they’ve become.
Fords 😂
Congratulations on the new truck. We bought my wife a 2018 platinum highlander. The wind noise on that thing drove us crazy. It was coming from the passenger side we brought the truck in 3 times to get it fixed. The last time they dented the hell out of the bottom of the door and didn't say a word about it. Then the sun roof started making wind noise even worse then then the passenger side. It had beautiful camel color leather and the dye from what ever you wore would transfer to the seats. Next the leather started pealing off on the piping around the seat. The leather was super soft like lamb leather it was beautiful but not good for car seats. We were extremely disappointed in Toyota after having nothing bad to say on our 2004 tundra we had until the Highlander. We ended up trading it in after a year for an expedition which has been great for the past few year's. Hopefully the tundra's are great for you, but knowing you they will be gone iness than a year lol
You will like it just got to get use to gas power. Merry Christmas to you and all your family and employees too ❤🎉😂😢
@workplaytv I’m a contractor as well and love the Crewmax with 6.5 foot bed option. Exactly what we need to get the job done. I ordered the same truck back in June 2023……Still waiting (Dec. 29). How long did you have to wait?
It was on a lot
I can’t get over the fact there are no recovery hooks on an “Off Road “ vehicle? Just another reason I went with a slightly used 2021 Toyota Tundra Platinum Crewmax 5.7 V8 with TRD duals ! BTW it’s a Prius on gas mileage compared to my 2021 F-350 7.3 V8 w/4.30 gears lol 😂
Plenty of aftermarket accessories even tow hooks
@@pnwmv You shouldn’t have to go buy aftermarket tow hooks on a new 4x4 truck
Wow. What an arrogant comment to leave. I bet your ass looks like a 150lbs of chewed up bubble gum🤣
Great truck! Forget the air intake. Save your money. Bigger tires will look great.
Nice truck the main dislike I have on the looks is the front end. I personally hate the grille area!
Heh looking at this unit, what is the payload from the drivers b pillar?
These are excellent for light duty and performance use because they have more power than Diesels, but turbo gas engines definitely are not made for brutal industrial usage. This is definitely a standard duty truck. Diesel is an industrial truck, but this truck is definitely more fun to drive!!
the fix for the window noise is adding extra seal
Little knobs and buttons make it difficult to operate while paying attention to the road. My 2019 tundra isn’t very fancy inside. I really love the spartan hvac knobs that are the size of hockey pucks. I don’t have to take my eyes of the road.
A lot of people buy rav4 control knobs for Tacomas since they got small ones too. Maybe try that?
Are you going to get a round bar backrack for it. You can carry long items like packing pipe to jobs or lumber for the cabin. Make the truck as versatile as you can. Even some side rails so you can secure loads in the box. You'll be driving this truck more than you think. I'd look for an aluminum slip tank it would be some weight savings. A black power coated one would look good. You'll be changing out the vanilla tires after the first time you get stuck on a soupy jobsite 😂 Find some aftermarket wheels so you can run a 17 or 18 inch tire. The 20inch rubber is so grossly expensive. Gas is sure cheap in Nova Scotia I paid 1.91 a litre for 93 octane today. I don't run gas with ethanol the 6.2 runs like crap on the regular gas. I don't think I'd buy a ecoboost F150. Ya they've got power my old boss had a 19 F150 with the 3.5 EB the power that truck had 😮 It wasn't a trouble free engine had valve issues. Truck got traded off.
If the wind noise is noticeable, it would drive me crazy!! :-)
I think there is an app to remote start your vehicle, just ask your dealership. And as of right now, there are aftermarket tow hooks
Nice video bruv. But, were you wearing eye liner and mascara?
lol no!
Good choice
Buying a tundra over a ram is a no brainer. Scotty kilmer would be proud. You will be able to give this to your grand child.
have one on order. like this review. honest review likes and dislikes.
I knew you'd end up towing with a Tundra, I didn't suspect you'd buy a second one to do it.
Toyota Tundra, for the man that really enjoys spending time at the gas station 😂
Not the 5.7 buddy
To unlock all doors at same time, leave it running and more options will be on the info center.
What happened with the GMC 2500 GAS 6.6? Seems like it would have been a good fix for your needs. Would be great if you could share some content on what happened there. Maybe I missed it.
Sold awhile ago
Beautiful truck. Don't understand why you would want running boards but two each his own I guess
Agree with the black accents, I'd live without the running boards and bug deflector. I think if you blacked out the tail lights it would look good
Front end looks funny.Want a laugh,,,look at the rear Differential, it's about the size of a softball.
Yeah much smaller
How did you find the availability of these trucks at your dealer? Up until very recently these have been impossible to get. Can't wait to see how she performs for you in a real world scenario. Cheers from PEI
The Toyota dealerships in Pennsylvania are loaded with trucks and everything else. All manufacturers have loaded their dealerships with inventory. There is no need to pay MSRP!
In case you're not on again before Monday, 🎄 MERRY CHRISTMAS ! 🎄
All you have to do is hold your hand on the door handle for a little longer to unlock all the doors lol I have a Toyota Corolla and thats what I do wen I have groceries in my hand
The 5.7 tundra was nice and a proper truck. This new one looks terrible and they went out of their way to make sure it’s not meant to be a truck. I.e no usable rear bumper, no recovery hooks, a massive long plastic filled front clip for horrible approach angles. And smaller inside than the older crew cab. No thanks. And I owned a 16 tundra. Great truck
I don’t find the inside any smaller
@@workplaytv The stats don’t lie. The new one is smaller inside and bigger outside which is just super poor packaging. The bed is smaller too. It’s a real disaster of a truck. With about 18” of nothing up front it’s just completely useless. That front clip is ugly, plastic junk. The rear legroom in the crew cab is like 3” less which is huge!
You’re going to love the Tundra. Definitely won’t out work a 2500 but just a smooth hassle free truck that won’t let you down.
My wife wants one.😊
Nice Truck can you still get the roll down rear window?
Yep
I like the small infotainment screen as opposed to the giant screen tv up front that absolutely makes no sense and has no additional use over this. What is the fuel consumption? Must be terrible probably 13-15L/100km
Right around there right now
The free maintenance is every 10,000 miles. You can still use the free service, but I would still do my own in between the 10000
When unlocking hold the handle for about 5 seconds and it will unlock all doors
What price did Oregans jip ya for it? I've been dreaming of buying a new one but the rates are driving me nuts.
Got it from tusket . Rates are higher but $10,000 less than the others
Have you tried the remote start from the app? Thats annoying that the remote start is so crappy on a new truck … also that it shuts off when you open the door. Kinda dumb, I would imagine someone will have a programmer/fox for this but shouldn’t need to do that in 2024!!
