I was honestly suffering with Switzerland. I saw it in their eyes and actions how badly they wanted to win a historic first gold and a part of me wouldn’t mind if they did. Man, what a game. From both teams. Could have gone either way. Even though they lost I have to say that I'm still very proud of Switzerland. Beating Finland and Canada and coming so close to beating Sweden as well. But to be honest though, Sweden was the better team. Maybe next time, Switzerland, when you're in the final, you'll be the champions. Like they say: third time's the charm. I'm sure your time will come someday, like it did for us Finns and Slovaks. This was the youngest Swedish WC team ever. Only 3 players here played on the 2017 Gold team, pretty impressive.

It was commonly a great and an exiting final game with great ice hockey. Its funmy how all Canadians say ”uhhh if we had our best players from nhl we would win easy” do you really think you are the only with alot of players in nhl. I heard someone say before that Canada couldve put up even 2 teams and still win the majority of thier games and guess what so can the other nations too. This year Sweden used thier youngest team since 96 they couldve made another team with the nhl seniors, can even argue if they are better then the team sweden used this championship. Just accept the truth Canada. And to those Canadians who say that IIHF championship isnt important for them . Than why is there hundreds of Canadians there in Denmark to watch did they just happend to walk by? You're the one who should embrace the truth. Canada could put together 10+ teams of NHL players and still beat most countries on paper. This year, from the current team Canada, only player to make the best team Canada for certain is Connor McDavid. Ekblad is a maybe. Barzal had a terrific rookie season, but he probably would have to make way for more experienced players. A lot of the players in this year's team would not even make it in the 2nd best team Canada. And yeah, pretty much every team is missing a lot of key players. But Canada is definitely missing more good players than any other country. Switzerland is a surprise, and they were also missing some of their best players. Canada has the most good players, but they are not playing in the worlds. Just look at their goalies. Backup or AHL goalies basically. If you look at the link in my earlier comment, with the best canadian scorers, see how practically none of them are playing for team canada in this tournament? If you follow the biggest north american sports medias, this tournament had barely any coverage. This is not a big deal in North-America.

Epic game and an interesting season in Europe. The Swiss should be proud, even though that shootout loss was a bitter end! Switzerland played another solid defensive game, not giving their opponents any free space to catch rebounds or other easy goals. Also produced dangerous counter attacks and had guts to play in the offensive zone (when they had the chance to do so). However Sweden is the worthy winner. They were the better team and did a strong comeback in the shootout. Both teams did a great job and played a better final than in 2013! Great to see some progression. Always more fun with close games. Germany and Switzerland making it to two big finals this year, must be against most odds, but this is awesome for European hockey! Im already looking forward to next season! Champions Hockey League kicking off in August I think, so not long left hehe!!

Great game, the first and especially the second period was very intense and fun to watch.I also dislike the shootouts, would have prefered the kept on playing. Switzerland has shown the world that they are team that can beat anyone, Sweden has a young team with players who will be performing well for a long time in the future.

Denna matchen blev jämn eftersom Schweiz hade sin bästa turnering någonsin, genom att bland annat slå Finland och Kanada. Dock är Sverige, som världens bästa hockeynation, för bra.

That was an super tight game with a solid Swiss defence, i am super happy as a Swede but it would had been cool to see the Swiss take the gold, they fought so hard. Overtime after overtime until a goal was made would have been more satisfying though. And maybe now i wouldn't be called a Swiss when i tell an American that im from Sweden. They tend to get Sweden and Switzerland confused and i dont know why.
