Wildboy II - The Closing (2020)
The FINAL piece to a bowhunt series for a particular Red Stag in New Zealand.
If you haven't seen 'PART 1' I suggest you do so first for the best experience, here's the link • 8 YARD SHOT! Biggest D...
Four Years ago, a young public land Red Stag found its way onto Wildside Hunting Safaris North Island property. As time rolled on this young Stag evolved into an aggressive, formidable, mature opponent to the resident Deer herd. With his upcoming dominance and his wild genetics he needed to be taken care of.
Joe Fluerty set his sights high and decided to bowhunt this elusive animal in his own familiar territory. The training begins now but what is not known yet is this is about to become the pinnacle of Joe's hunting experiences.
This is The Closing, the Wildboy Story.

  • That's some serious dedication and unbelievably BEAUTIFUL WILDERNESS!!! You guys are making me ask myself why I'm still in Kansas City!!! I should be living somewhere as beautiful as NZ, for sure! It seems like no one here cares about stuff like this, in my mind, this is what life is about. This is the stuff that separates us from the animals we live alongside of. Thanks for the effort! Was that a through shot??!? That's what it seemed like from looking at the arrow..... one word.... INTENSE!!!!!

    • @@j.e.wilds-hunting it is most definitely that, our fam has 80 acres 60 miles out of the city, that's where I caught the monster 7 pound Largemouth on my channel! You can spin a full circle and not see a single indication of human existence! That's my favorite thing about the place, besides the pesky plane traffic it's just pure silence. One night after 4 or 5 hrs of looking through my telescope I decided to look PAST what I was focused on, what I saw was 1st seen in 1965, they guess around 375,000 years after the big bang, before the first stars were even formed! I literally saw 12 BILLION years into the past! I honestly feel sorry for anyone who never stops to appreciate the unbelievable beauty of the natural world. You guys do an amazing job at bringing it to the people who never see it themselves, thank you for that, we need more people doing it!

I struggle getting motivated to do still images sometimes let alone video haha. I can't really think of anything you could do different mate, they are pretty spot on. The only thing that might be nice is to hear a little more about the gear, I know you aren't exactly a gear junky but for people outside NZ, it'd be nice to hear about what are actual essentials and what you can get away with etc.

    @jordanblakie3624@jordanblakie36243 жыл бұрын
    • Yeah just a flesh wound, we only speculated a lung shot because of the blood measurment on the arrow. It actually went along the ribs not through the ribs so not penetrating any vitals at all on the first shot.

The music cuts and transitions were spot on with what was going on in the clips ... seamless and subtle enough so the viewer isn't distracted by those audio/music cuts and changes. You remember me commenting on the last one how I thought you has just the right amount of 'slow mo' clips ?? In the second film I thought they were a tad over done ... too many slow mo clips. That of course is just my opinion and I know how you really like a good amount of the slow motion stuff so take my comments with a pinch of salt. As always, edit the way you like it !!! Cheers, Matt

As time rolled on this young Stag evolved into an aggressive, formidable, mature opponent to the resident Deer herd. With his upcoming dominance and his wild genetics he needed to be taken care of."

  • At 15.13 you can see a second arrow hit the animal. That was the kill shot.

    @clarahofsink321@clarahofsink3212 жыл бұрын
  • Good video, but I'm skeptical of the hunt and of the kill. At the time of the shot, the stag was facing to the hunter's left, leaving the hunter to shoot at the animal's left side. The arrow appears to me to sail completely over the animal's back. However, at timestamp 15:10 in the video, the stag is seen being shot in his RIGHT SIDE and running off WITH the arrow sticking out from his RIGHT SIDE, running for about 50 yards before the arrow falls to the ground. This shows that it wasn't a pass-thru shot, and would be unlikely to cover the arrow with blood to the vanes. Also, at 16:03, the hunter finds his arrow imbedded in some [thick] grass. Had the arrow fallen from the stag at 15:20, it would most likely just be laying flat on the ground; not buried in grass. In the video at 15:16, you can see the arrow falling VANES FIRST onto the grass. No way for the broadhead to get stuck in the grass. Finally, the camera angle at 15:10 in the video is not possible if the hunter only had ONE camera man, as the stag is practically facing the cameraman head on . All this taken together, I believe this video is a combination of at least 2 different hunts, and not a single hunt. I'm not saying that it didn't happen just as the video shows; I've seen lots of crazy things happen with deer. But I am very suspicious of it's veracity.

    • Thanks for your detailed comment, yes these are two hunts. There is a part 1 to this film series and you have commented on part 2. The scenes you speak of with the Stag being shot on his right side are reminiscing memories of the hunters previous encounter with this particular Stag.
