  • That's fabulous. 👌 I would love to know....besides gripping the monkscloth on the tips of nails sticking out of the four sides of the loom frame what else holds the cloth in place while you are tufting? I'd imagine there's a lot of pressure being applied to the cloth while you are tufting. Will that make the fabric detach from the frame? Do you have to staple it in place as well before tufting begins? (Ireland☘)

    @orlamdc@orlamdc2 жыл бұрын
    • Generally you don't have to staple it, the four sides are enough to hold the cloth in place if it's taut enough, but staples certainly don't do any harm if you were wanting to staple it to the frame

    @MLMguitarguy@MLMguitarguy Жыл бұрын

  • Hey man you can use 2 strands of yarn for thicker and denser rug

    @nathanielflores2203@nathanielflores22032 жыл бұрын
    • I really debated on using one or two strands of yarn. My goal was to make the rug really consistent as far as density so that there weren’t spots that were “harder” or “softer”. It did end up taking me longer, but I think the final result was worth it. It feels really consistent.

  • Is there a reason you’re using only one thread instead of the usual two?

    @ikizagirl@ikizagirl2 жыл бұрын
    • I wanted to control the thickness and consistency of the rug. I could definitely have used two, but I was wanting to make sure that it didn’t come out too thick. If I were to do it again today, I would absolutely use two to speed up the process haha

    @rachelb1119@rachelb11192 жыл бұрын
    • Oh my gosh, this is such an amazing tip! I’ve always seen others use WD40 and assumed it was the standard. I’ll definitely check out sewing machine oil! Thanks so much Rachel!

      @AdamJasperr@AdamJasperr2 жыл бұрын
    • @@AdamJasperr I made the same mistake initially! WD-40 is great for cleaning and can act as a lubricant for a bit but it dries up quickly and a proper lube lasts a lot longer.
