🛠 Audi MMI MIB firmware update procedure
1. Enter red hidden menu and check your current SW train. Check on mib-helper.com if you have the latest one.
2. Find and download latest supported firmware update for your Audi on mibsolution.one (user and password: guest).
3. Use 8GB or larger SD card, format it with FAT32 file system with the smallest allocation size available.
4. Extract and copy firmware update files to the root directory of the SD card.
5. Remove other cards from the main unit and insert update SD into SD1 port.
6. Disable connection with external audio amplifier
7. Enter red hidden menu and start the update procedure.
8. Wait patiently. Main unit will reboot several times before the new firmware is installed.
9. When the installation is complete you can hit "Resume" at the end of the update summary and "Cancel" on the next screen.
10. Use scan tool like OBDeleven or VCDS to clear the B201A fault.
11. Reconnect MOST connection to external amplifier.
12. Enter red hidden menu to confirm that the update procedure was done.
⚠️ Warning! You are doing it at your own risk! This DIY procedure can overwrite custom system modifications like CP-OFF patch, CID-Lock, SWaP patch, custom skins, dual-navi patch.
⚠️ Make sure your cars battery is in good shape, use external power source, or turn the engine on for the update process to make sure that voltage drops will not interrupt firmware update.
⚠️ Make sure to skip external audio amplifier update if you don't have proper tools to parameterize it afterwards. You can disconnect MOST from the main unit, disable MOST in long coding, or use hidden menu and user-defined update to unselect amplifier package from the update list.
ℹ️ This tutorial was made in Audi A3/S3 8V with MHI2 system. This procedure will fit other Audi vehicles (A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q2, Q3, Q5, Q7, Q8, TT, R8) and other MMI variants (MSTD, MHIG, MST2, MHS2, MHI2) as well.

I wish i would have waited for him. I spent two weeks figuring out how to do this and using his videos managed to figure it out. But my car is also an S3 2017 and the same software! 😂😂 i only managed to finish it two days ago, just waiting for maps now 🤣🤣
Great video tutorial! I did update the maps on my A5 but never update the FW. What would be the benefits of a FW update? Is for example the maps SW expected to perform better (e.g. routes computation and so)?

mr-fix, can you check if there is any update to firmware for Q7. In the list on Mibsolution, there is only MHI2Q_ER_AUG22_P5092, while on Mib-helper, you see that there is MHI2Q_ER_AUG22_P5152.

Hey, thanks for the video, everything well explained! I don't have OBDeleven or VCDS, so I cannot uncheck MOST so I doesn't update my B&O sound system. Is it possible to deselect the amplifier update through the red menu or remove the AMP and Bose folders from the SD card so there is no update files for the amplifier?

Basic audio system is using internal amplifier. There's nothing to disconnect. You can just update.

I have a question regarding fuel consumption display. I recently bought an Audi A3 2014, it's an Ultra model. The driver display only shows fuel range and reduced display, when I cycle through from steering wheel. Is it only on premium versions of Audi A3's? It really drove me nuts. I read the driver manual and researched all over the internet but to no avail. I appreciate any help you can provide in this regard. Thanks.

Hi, I own an Q5 with MHI2Q MMI unit and when I try to reproduce yours steps, I insert the sd card into slot 1, open Red Menu, select the "SD Card 1" option, then when I go to the end of the update list the "Start Update" option it's greyed out. I can't start the process. Do you have any idea of what it is? Thanks in advance.

Hi, i have audi s5 2018 b9 i bought it from USA my version is MHI2Q_US_AUG22_P5087 I want to change it to ER version should i download same MHI2Q_ER_AUG22_P5087 And install it on top and afterwards install all maps and other stuff? Thanks for answering cheers!
My version is Pxxxxx in the end. Is there a compatibility problem if the most recent version is Kxxxxx in the end? Do I have to choose a version with the letter P?

You only have to disable it if you have special speakers. If it's the audi system you're fine without disabling it.

Hi there, I wonder if you can guide me. I've got an Audi A7 with MHI2_US_AUG11_S0533. Latest version that MBIHelper shows is MHI2_US_AUGP0533. Now, when I search on MIBSolution, I cant find anything with the same "AUG11" coding. However, there is one called "MHI2_US_AU57x_K0539_MU1062 (A6-A7)" that in the description it says it supports the train MHI2_US_AUG11_P0533 as well as others (but not mine ending in S0533). My question is, would this new MHI2_US_AU57x_K0539_MU1062 (A6-A7) version work on my vehicle? If so, should I first get and install the "P0533" and then go for the new MHI2_US_AU57x_K0539_MU1062 (A6-A7) or can I do it right away? Your help is much appreciated! Thank you!

My version is MHIG_US_AU_S2014 and the latest firmware should be MHIG_US_AU_K2018 per mib-helper. I was able to find the firmware under MIB-BACKUP folder. However, there is no option for me to download the file. Can you please help me? My car is 2015 Audi S3. Thank you very much.
How do I log in to MIB Solution One?
You are very good, dealerships in Brazil charge absurd amounts. I saw in some videos that the card for this procedure needs to be an SD card. I'm using a MicroSD, is there any difference in the procedure?
If the microsd is inserted in a SD adapter, as far as the car is concerned, it's an SD. You can go ahead.
Hello mib-helper says that the latest official firmware update: MHI2_ER_AUG22_P3346 (MU: 1438, details), but I cannot find that in the downloads folder. Am I missing something? Great video!
Many thanks for this great video! I get an error message in OBDeleven when trying to add the new 5F adaptation key a273 to replace the old 6ba1 - error message (31) Function not available. I did not update the mib ,only added the maps fec. Perhaps this error code has been there since the dealer updated the mib as part of the maps update 2 years ago? First time I used obd as well now. Hello - My 2018 Audi Q5 will not allow me to update the MMI firmware - it apparently will not read the files from SD1. This slot works ordinarily with music etc. Current system in the vehicle is MHI2Q_US_AUG22_P4213 MU 1178. I am trying to update the MMI in order to get keys for a Navigation update (I need 0023000ee). I am using a new 32G MicroSD card, formatted to FAT32. I followed all the instructions in the KZhead, but the vehicle does not see any updates available in SD1 (or SD2 when I tried that). Any suggestions?

I have MHI3 touch screen running MHI3_US_AUG45S_P3243 (this must be the original version from 2020 when my S4 was delivered). I see under MQB_Solution\MHI3\MHI3_US_AUG45S_K3281_8W0906961B from FEB 24, 2022 - would this work? I do have B&O sound system, no ODB11 but VCDS, so I'm assuming I would need to disable F5 -> Long Coding -> BYTE 19 -> BIT with MOS -> OFF then load the update on a USB stick (no SD card support in B9.5). There are is no REM, update can be initiated directly from MMI. Will this work?

U mnie porównując bardzo stary soft z tym świeżym widzę sterowanie subwooferem (nie było go wcześniej), zamiast Google Maps jest opcja Mapa Satelitarna (teraz dostarcza je HERE maps). No i system jakoś tak szybciej działa.

If you update amp, you will have no sound until you upload parameterization with ODIS or VCP. Check mib-helper.com - it will show you if there's newer firmware available.
Can't find MHI2Q_US_AUG22_P4246 in the database - do you have this available to download?

As long as the car has folding mirrors installed, they fold. Usually there's an option in the menu settings to activate or deactivate that function

Stick with P5089. Newer firmware was seen on production vehicle but not yet as a customer update. Do this: kzhead.info/sun/pd6Inbp-eZR6gZ8/bejne.html it generates all missing supported feature codes.

The names of the bits are the same in vcds as in obd11
Jak to wygląda z aktualizacjami map np. Audi MMI. Pliki z aktualizacją map wrzucam na nową kartę SD która ma zduplikowany CID oryginalnej karty SD i nowa mapa się nie uruchamia. Stare mapy działają na karcie ze zduplikowanym CID. Przykład z RMC z Navi.
Z tego co wiem, to RMC ma jeszcze jakieś dodatkowe zabezpieczenie oprócz CIDa. Chyba był wgrywany kod aktywacji na dane mapy przez parametryzację.

HN+ is a different (older) system. Will try to cover it one day.

Soft MHIG_EU musi mieć polski język jak i inne europejskie. Jakie masz do wyboru w menu ustawień?
@@mrfixpl Mam tylko i wyłącznie angielski i bodajże francuski. Nadmienię też że wersję konwersowałem mibem z zielonego menu i wszystko poszło gładko wraz mapami ale został ten ostatni punkt czyli język.

@@sektorp ten poradnik nic nie da. Audi A6 i Seat Arona to dwa zupełnie inne pojazdy, które mają ustawienia w zupełnie innych miejscach. W Audi A6 4G jeszcze szukam.
w aplikacjach jest komfortowy kierunkowskaz i tam można ustawić od 1-5.tak zrobiłem w swoim Audi Q5 2018.

Train is blocked. Kolego tu chodzi o kolejność. Jeśli masz MHI2 ER_AUG22_S2148 to czekają cie dwie pośrednie aktualizacje zanim zaintalujesz najnowszą. Najpierw zainstaluj MHI2_ER_AUG22_K2161_MU1421 (A4-A5-Q5-Q7) następnie MHI2_ER_AUG22_P3241_MU0678 (A4-A5-Q5-Q7) a dopiero najnowszą MHI2_ER_AUG22_K3346_MU1438 (A4-A5-Q5-Q7) która ma 2.7 GB
