Hwasa is such a breath of fresh air compared to many other Kpop female singers. She's so talented, so real, and so original. Personally, I think the message of this song works for both sides of a toxic relationship. The person who puts their lover on a pedestal and adores them to the point of not having a world of their own, and the one who takes the love and care of their lover for granted: both are twits. One side does not love themselves enough, so their love becomes obsessive and pressuring for the other party. Meanwhile, the other party fails to appreciate their lover enough. They fail to give back the love and care necessary. Both situations make a relationship toxic and one-sided. I like that Hwasa chooses to show that both behaviour ends up 'killing' the love that these people were looking for. Instead of showing a fairytale-like, 'perfect' love story, she shows one that comes undone, shows the reasons this happens, and leaves us to ponder about these issues ourselves. She leaves us with a warning, and an important one at that: Don't be either of these 2 twits, otherwise, both of you will suffer. There are some really good comments about the symbolism of the lyrics and the mv here, and I wish there were more of them. Sure, Hwasa boldly sets herself to be her own standard of beauty, but there's more to her than that. Both as an artist, and as a person, she's deeper than that

You don't have to understand it because it is a cultural difference, which is confusing for foreigners. Just accept that that's the way it is, and respect it. This MV and lyrics are packed with a lot of interesting references and meaning. Looks like our Queen did a good job. In the lyrics she uses "delicate Shim Cheongie" ...referring to an old korean tale. Shim Cheong (a filial daughter) was sold as a virginal sacrificial offering to the sea, in this way her blind father could make the temple donation needed to miraculously restore his sight. With the help of the Dragon King of the sea, she returned to the land and eventually became a queen. So Shim Chung is sacrificing yourself for the benefits or happiness of others, it means a great love without boundary. In the beginning of the mv she's reading 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell which is all about the constraints of society and following the rules…she tosses it aside. Her wrapped up in the plastic bag, coming out of a wardrobe crying, walking with confidence on a table and no one is paying attention to her while when she has a lighter skin tone and cuter hairstyle boys are at her feet...all is a clear reference to how women are treated in korean society. Wheein cameo...if you consider the lyrics of this song and Wheein solo 'Easy' it's like watching the opposite sides of the same coin. Plus Wheein is Hwasa source of strenght and comfort, you can see her leaning on Wheein and Wheein embracing Hwasa. Their makeup is natural and they're almost nacked because they can be themselves with each other. In the all black scene where you can see her and the legs of a man; it's like she abused of his love so much that in the end killed that feeling and when she understood what she did to him she tried to take the boy back but in the end he leaves her. Many people pointed out those blatantly fake birds...I mean, they could use CG like the leopard in Egotistic MV but I think they did it on purpose. A bare tree with fake/dead birds. Everything is white, birds, dress and background, so lonely. In Korea and the Middle East it is the norm that white symbolizes time of mourning and funerals. It is an interesting predicament that theorists find white relays the message of clarity. It could be thought that once someone has passed away there may be clarity in the peoples’ lives, or lack there of. And right after compare the black scene...so going back to the theory of the mourning and understanding (clarity) what she lost. For those wondering who simcheong is being referenced in the lyrics. It is a character in a famous Korean story who sacrifices themselves out of love. In the song Hwasa doesn’t like the fact that this person is revolving their whole life around her and sacrificing themselves for her. She calls them a fool for it. She also feels bad about it. But it’s not something she wants. It’s a really interesting and complex song

I once saw a Korean actor on CNN (who stars in an American TV show.. I forgot his name unfortunately) himself say, his country had a lot to offer that people were picking up on, K-beauty, K-pop, "even plastic surgery, we do it best, that's why people come to Korea for it" That statement at least, cannot be considered rude
