  • Great list! Thanks for your efforts! Takes me back to being a 13 year old again, when I got my 64 in 1982.. Some of my faves were Shadowfire (great music), Skyfox, Mercenary, Attack Of The Mutant Cames & Revenge, The 4th Protocol, Hovver Bovver and System 15000 by Ferranti software, a hacking simulator with BBS's dialup modems and telephone number incorporated into the gameplay.

  • Great vid. Always love to see what somebody else's faves are on the old majestic breadbox... As a follow up, you could do one of these featuring modern C64 games (say, post Mayhem in Monster Land... or a little later).

  • Hey me buddy I'm so sorry has taken me this long to respond. Watched this one a few times now and honestly is an incredible list. Jist shows how much of a ground breaker of a micro the c64 was back in the day. So gorgeous games and that sound really does put ma beloved speccie in the shade. Been loving the 10 of lists you've been doing too bud. Really great to watch a reminisce while doing me dishes 😉👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

  • What's amazing about this "top 100" list is that there were so many games made for the C64 (over 5000) that even this list is missing DOZENS of my all-time favorite titles. :)

    @wjklatv@wjklatv15 күн бұрын
  • Great video! 👏 I’ve watched several “best of C64 games” videos lately and this is the best one. You had so many favorites: Jumpman, M.U.L.E., Law of the West, Forbidden Forest, Beachhead, and too many others to mention. And I was especially happy to see my all-time favorite, Impossible Mission, on your list. The only one from my top ten that you didn’t have is Rescue on Fractalus. I just about jumped out of my skin when the alien appeared the first time. 😂 I also enjoyed seeing Lemmings and Shoot Em Up Construction Kit for the C64 since I had both for the Amiga but had never seen the C64 versions before. Anyway, I bought my C64 way back in 1983 and I’ve own many others since but none had as a big influence on my life as the C64.

    • Thanks for the kind words Matt, I definitely agree. This list is up to about 2015/16 I’d say so would love to do something with a more modern twist. Still, some absolutely corking games didn’t make this 100 and some stinkers that did!

But I would also put in games like Hard N' Heavy, Hillsfar, Times Of Lore, one or two AD&D-Titles by SSI, Cabal, Batman The Movie, Hostages, Test Drive, New Zealand Story, maybe Desert Fox and Ghostbusters, The Eidolon, Dragon Wars, R-Type, maybe Double Dragon 2, Rocket Ranger, Iron Lord, Stunt Car Racer, Green Beret, Yie Ar Kung Fu, Target Renegade, Speedball and maybe some more Strategy Games and titles which don't come to my mind atm. But at least you have Airborne Ranger ranked very high which was maybe my All Time Favourite on the C64. By the way, from which game was the great song in the intro of your clip?

  • For me the best C-64 game by far was M.U.L.E. played in the "Expert mode". It had so much dependencies, the game is an exercise in supply and demand economics involving competition between up to four players (2 Joysticks / 2 keyboard). If you played with less players you got computer opponents. See the Wikipedia article for more details. P.S.: I caught the mountain swampus 😃

    @Floridaadler@Floridaadler6 ай бұрын
    • MULE was like nothing I’d played before, I was too to young to really understand it at first but a few years later when playing with friends it really was a class game to play, I couldn’t imagine playing on expert mode though!!

      @Retro_B8@Retro_B86 ай бұрын
    • @@Retro_B8 Expert mode just had the additional feature that the store ran out of stock and so the prices increased for every rare resource up to maximal amounts. E.g. if energy ran out of stock the store offered e.g. 100 credits, but the players with demand could bid higher (running up), while the supplying player could wait and sell short before time ran out. This meant that the wealth of players could increase making the entire game wealthier. I loved it...

    • So this 100 is purely based on the very popular C64 website Lemon64 where everyone can vote for their favourite games etc. stipulations are, must have at least 100 votes and that’s it! The lowest score here is 7.95 which believe it or not is just a little higher (with 100 votes) than all the games listed although personally a few of yours would make my personal top 100, which I’m working on!
