American layout on a medieval game? BURN IT AT THE STAKE

actually good layout, everything is at range of the villagers, this is a very resource focus village, and can be easily protected too, looks similar to the han dinasty cities

Thanks for defense ; ) I'd really love if we were able to do 90 degrees, and see the length of the roads. Efficiency trumps a beauty project for me every time. I understand people's critique, but will never abandon efficient grids in these games x)

@@GameWatcher545 the critics are being very ignorant too, there are many medieval layouts that uses the grid, like the Roman model and the Reihendorf, you are being historical too.

Everyone : eew, grid! 🤮 Ancient civilizations : it just works 😊 Note : no, really. Ancient Egyptians (Memphis & Alexandria), Han dynasty (West g East) and Mesopotamian (like in Iraq) civs does use grids for their cities.

It would work if it was a ancient civ city builder. Not middle ages.
@xptaco2298Ай бұрын
@@xptaco2298 the roman model (grid city model) was used a lot in many villagers and cities in middle europe and balkans, because it was effective, so yeah, it works in middle ages too. and this can fit into the Row Style (Reihendorf) with the Upper large road working as the Main Road. so even non-roman villages have grid-like villages.

@@deathlord250 grid like. Not completely and as utilitarian as this.
@xptaco2298Ай бұрын
@@xptaco2298 no, being utilitarian was the main focus of this grid-like villages, as they are in most, farm villages and want to be quickly and economic, manure can be quickly moved to the fields and harvests quickly moved to the barn, and this harvests can be quickly traded with merchants.
@deathlord250Ай бұрын
@@deathlord250 I disagree. You act like every village was planned out when in fact they weren't, they popped up in areas that served economic, spiritual, or it could've even been a fort before its conception of a village or town. Planning wouldn't come until the village was turned into a city.
